Gather App is Super Useful For Discovering Spontaneous Pop-Up Events

There are times in our life when we want to push ourselves beyond the boundaries we live in and try to do something out of the box. That could be anything as trivial as participating in a local dance concert but the impact these casual pop-up events have in our lives is worth treasuring a lifetime. But how do you discover what’s coming up next in town? Or even if something’s not coming up, how could you be a part of an impromptu event that will be set up in just the next few hours?

Every summer calls for a lot of outdoor events and activities that help us come together and celebrate moments of life in a way we’ll cherish forever. The Gather App is all about making this kind of experience smoother and much easier to handle than you could have done before.

Be a Part of Spontaneous Pop-Up Events

To put it short, Gather is a mobile application that creates spontaneous pop-up events and notifies a user just hours before they begin. As told by Gather’s founder and president Derrick Skipper on their press release, “The idea of life’s most memorable moments being contained in isolated incidents spread over years are too far in between; youth is limited and should not be wasted on routine.” He wanted to create such memorable moments in your life with the element of surprise.

Hence came the concept behind Gather which isn’t just another event discovery app. It’s about participating in activities that will help you strengthen your bond with fellow mates and live a life of your dreams. You don’t want to spend typical weekends forever, do you? That’s why you need a bit of Gather in your life!

Lots of Interesting Future Events in Store

The team has already organized a kickball game, tug-o-war on the “Rocky Steps” at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and coordinated a flash mob even before summer has begun. Now they wish to stretch their goals and make Gather a more popular app among those who are keen on participating in such impromptu events time and again. These events will vary in scale and attractions so you need not worry about Gather being an app for a certain genre of audience alone. The future events will include concepts like sumo suit wrestling, fire breathers, a massive water balloon fight, public art galleries  and a concert on wheels.

Make the Gather Festival Come Alive

But the major attraction is the end of summer Gather festival “Arts, Beats & Eats” which will include live music by bands from Philadelphia, artwork from local artists, and some of Philly’s favorite food trucks. Coming to how this app works, you need to sign up on the app (available from June 1st on Android and App Store) via your Facebook account. Once logged in, you’ll be termed as a Gatherer. Whenever there’s an event, Gatherers will be notified with date, time and location along with the event title and image to be clearer as to what it will be like. Note that these notifications will come just hours before the live event begins so as to keep the surprise element intact. Once you “Check In” at a particular event, you’ll be gathering “Gather Points”. These points will come handy for “Secret Gather” outings and will also make you eligible to be a loyal user for the platform. Pretty much an app made for the youth who loves to stay social both in the online and offline world.
