With the recent change of the Apple adapter for charging your iPhones, iPads, iPods etc everybody ended up with a dozen of old cables and docks that became useless. Thankfully Auris with their latest kickstarter project is asking for funding in order to launch a device that turns your old useless dock into a WiFi music receiver. By using WiFi network or either Apple’s proprietary AirPlay streaming protocol or DLNA on Android and Windows you can stream your music  from your iOS or android/windows device. it’s also WiFi direct enabled in case you don’t have a WiFi router available in the area. Skye, as they call it doesn’t need any separate power source because it uses the power from the dock itself! Sounds promising? Back their project via Kickstarter

Their Pitch: skye is a WiFi music receiver for your music dock designed to soundtrack your life. skye’s wireless technology allows you to stream and control your favorite tunes from your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, Windows Phone or iTunes (Mac / PC) in your WiFi network with AirPlay and DLNA support.
