I love my gadgets. I love having my gadgets with me wherever I go. The problem with having gadgets (not particularly great ones either) is the battery life. Everything has a limit, even if the limit will last me more than a day, I find myself a bit apprehensive when my phone starts reaching the yellow area on the battery life indicator. I start my day at about 6:45 a.m. for work and then I have classes and more work for the rest of the day. Usually I end in my room after 5 p.m. but then there are my long days where I don’t get back until after 9 p.m. That’s pushing the limit for my old phone and I absolutely need my phone with me at all times. It is my connection to the people I care about, my music player, and my preferred method of communication for work. I could charge my phone at work but then the usability is severely hampered since my phone is now tied to an outlet. Is there anyone out there who can fix this annoying problem? Save me!

A Regular Backpack…Or Is It?

The SOOT Electropack is the ultimate solution for anyone who has to stay connected. The Electropack puts a portable battery in a backpack that can transform based on your needs, giving you one pack but three different options for usability. The smallest pack is called the Mini Messenger. It’s a messenger style bag with 10 liters of storage space, enough room for a jacket, a water bottle, an iPad, and a book with some extra room left over. For my less intensive days, this would be the perfect size for me. I could fit my windbreaker, my Surface, my water bottle, and a 3 ring binder and be set for my entire day.

The next pack is a bit bigger and it’s called the Commuter. About the size of a normal backpack at 24 liters, this pack will fit as much as you would expect and also includes a protective laptop sleeve, a nice little addition that proves quite useful.

A messenger bag and a normal backpack, what is so special about these packs? Well, thank you for asking, let me tell you about how the Electropack is truly unique. The first way is through the innovative combination of the two packs to create the full size Carry-On. Through the use of hidden zippers, you can attach the Mini Messenger to the Commuter and wear both of them as the Carry-On and yes, the Carry-On is the proper size to be carry on luggage for a plane trip. The second way is why this pack is made for gadget lovers. The Electropack comes with a slim battery back with USB ports that will charge anything that is powered by USB so not your laptop but just about anything smaller than your laptop.

Hidden Features Upon Hidden Features

A simple backpack this is not. The battery pack is removable so you don’t need to have your Electropack present in order to charge your devices. You can swap the flaps on the Mini Messengers to come up with interesting color combinations. You can charge your devices while carrying your backpack but you can also use them while still charging them without actually taking the battery out of the pack. It is 100% waterproof. The battery can fully charge your phone up to 7 times. And don’t even start asking about all the pockets, let’s just say there are a billion (not quite but sure seems like it) different pockets for any of the billion (possibly) different uses you come up with.

The one caveat seems to be the price if you think of the Electropack as a fancy backpack. Once you start thinking of it as 3 separate backpacks plus a battery pack, the price for value actual beats the average random combination of such items, especially if you want quality items. The backpacks are made out of the highest grade material plus the battery pack is slim, light, and powerful. You won’t find a cooler and more practical set of luggage.
