Taotronics BH-16 Value Bluetooth Earbuds Keep the Price Low Without Sacrificing Performance

I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing many Bluetooth headphones lately but there’s still some use cases for which I haven’t found the best options. What about a sports/workout focused set of earbuds? You might be inclined to research the best possible workout earbuds and you’ll end up with options in the hundreds of dollars. But, thanks to proliferation of technology, you really don’t have spend so much to get to get good Bluetooth earbuds. Value-oriented products don’t cut as many corners as they used to and you’re not paying for the brand name recognition tied into bigger companies’ products. So don’t buy just yet, keep reading!

While I have a few pairs of Bluetooth earbuds, having a pair of headphones dedicated to workout conditions to handle the extreme wear and tear is a smart idea. Which one to choose? Well, TaoTronics is a good name to trust and the TaoTronics BH-16 Sport Earbuds might just be for you. They have:

– great stealth design

– IPX5 waterproofness

– a reasonable price

Stealth Design

Interestingly, the TaoTronics BH-16 is only one singular color: black. Even under the earbud tips, there’s only black. The logo on the outer par of each earbud: black. I really dig the subtlety, the stealth. Where more vibrant colors might highlight the build quality, good or bad, the black helps the BH-16 look extremely premium. The actual materials are all hard plastic but you’d never know it from a pure visual inspection.

The wires aren’t anything special but the magnetic outer part of the earbuds actually help the wires to not tangle. The magnetic outer part is a welcome feature on such a reasonably priced pair of headphones. Some sport headphones with a higher price don’t even have such a convenience so, good on TaoTronics for including this.

Performance Vs Price

The IPX5 waterproof rating is excellent so the TaoTronics BH-16 are clearly able to handle sweaty conditions. The Bluetooth works well; I had no issues with pairing. The in-line controls work as you’d expect and the audio quality for phone calls and music is good. You’re not losing any performance for the price.

TaoTronics did include earhooks to keep the earbuds as sturdy as possible when running or jumping or just moving about. There are 3 different sizes of both earhooks and earbud tips which lets anybody adjust the BH-16 to fit their ears properly.

So, all things considered, the TaoTronics BH-16 sound pretty full-featured. With that, I’d guess the price to be in the realm of $50 to $75. It’s not too expensive and a pretty reasonable price.

However, they’re not $50 to $75; they’re only $33.99.

For $34, these earbuds are a very serious value proposition. So much so that you could buy a couple just in case of accidents and they’d still end up being cheaper than breaking one pair of other earbuds and retaining the same performance levels.

What We ❤️

The stealthy design, build and audio quality combined with the awesome price make the TaoTronics BH-16 a good option for just about everybody. If you want a sturdy pair of cheap earbuds, look no further.

Future Designs

While I appreciate the black color, I imagine some people would like a little bit more option than just pure black. Try some silver accents in places for a little more pizzazz.
