🤔 Is It Worth It?

Debate the value of the latest gadgets and whether they truly live up to the hype.

Thinking of getting an Xbox Series S just to have a “do-nothing” hobby—worth it for a non-gamer?

All my hobbies are a little too productive. Reading, learning languages, coding side projects. I want something brain-dead simple, low effort, pure fun. And I keep circling the Xbox Series S. It's cheap, compact, doesn't look like a spaceship, and Game Pass kind of feels like Netflix for games (which is dangerously appealing).

I'm not trying to become a hardcore gamer. I just want something I can pick up after work without needing to "grind" or get sweaty in PvP. The PS5 seems overkill for that, and the Switch... I dunno, maybe a little too kiddy for me?

So for someone who just wants to veg out with some chill games and maybe dabble in a story-driven title here and there, is the Series S actually a good call? Or will I regret not going bigger once I get into it?

Curious if any casuals or ex-casuals made this move, was it the right entry point?

You’re not alone in wanting something chill. You don’t have to sweat in PvP or grind battle passes to enjoy games. There’s a whole world of relaxing, story-rich, or just plain silly games perfect for end-of-day decompression. Stuff like PowerWash Simulator, Unpacking, or Forza Horizon are basically spa days for your brain

And yeah, the PS5 is awesome but feels like a commitment. The Switch is great too, but if you’re not vibing with the whole Nintendo aesthetic, the Series S hits that sweet spot of “low effort, high fun.”

If you do end up falling into the rabbit hole later, there’s always room to upgrade but for now? Sounds like a solid move for guilt-free, no-pressure fun. Go forth and veg responsibly 😎🛋️
