Google’s Pixel 4 to use face scanning

The brand’s latest smartphone will have face-scanning unlocking functionality, Google revealed in a blog and video. They also revealed Motion Sense which corroborates rumors the device will have gesture control. Despite the October launch, Google has been slowly announcing a variety of features.

New 2020 iPhones to have 5G

A new report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals all three iPhone models in 2020 will have 5G. This comes after Apple acquired the modem manufacturing side of Intel. They do, however, have a six-year contract with Qualcomm so it’s unclear where the modems will come from.

Samsung offers Galaxy Note 10 reservations

Even before the official reveal, Samsung is letting interested users sign up to be early adopters. Those who reserve by August 7th get a $50 credit on devices and accessories. The release date is set for August 23rd.

Sony develops wearable air conditioner

Called the Reon Pocket, the Bluetooth device is compact and features thermoelectric cooling. It’s designed to remain in a special pocket to deliver instant cooling or heating. It should be available next year.

Galaxy Fold to relaunch in September

After early adopters noted hardware issues, Samsung will be re-debuting the (fixed) foldable smartphone in September. Issues included screen flickering, bulging, and breaks. The new version has a more protective top layer as well as reinforcements.

Nintendo Switch partners with Disney
