Google’s AI Detects Breast Cancer Better Than Experts

After acquiring DeepMind in 2014, the company trained its AI using de-identified data from patients in both the US and the UK. The analysis shows that it can reduce false positives by 5.7 percent and false negatives by 9.4 percent in the US. The developers of the AI system, however, have said that the research is in its early stages as of now and more studies, as well as cooperation with healthcare providers, will be required before the system is ready for widespread use.
