Bose Will Close Down All US and European Stores

Bose has confirmed the closure of a significant number of its retail stores in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia will close, marking a total of 119. The company will be doing this primarily because of the popularity of online shopping which has reduced the number of people purchasing from the retail storefronts.

Fitbit Releases Blood Oxygen Monitoring

Coming ahead of Apple Watch, Fitbit will be enabling blood oxygen level (Sp02) tracking on some of its smartwatches and fitness trackers with a software update. Sp02 levels usually help with more accurate sleep tracking as well as detecting health issues like sleep apnea.

Facebook Will Send Notifications for Third-Party Logins

The new feature called “Login Notifications", launched by Facebook today alerts a user (via the Facebook app and user’s associated email) when they use Facebook Login to interact with 3rd party apps. The purpose is to help users have more control over their information.

Disney+ Was the Most Downloaded App in the US in Q4 2019

The app was launched in mid-November, 2019 and since then, Disney+ was downloaded more than 30 million times in Q4 2019. This is more than double the numbers of its nearest competitor, TikTok.

Google’s Project Coral can enable AI without the cloud

As explained to The Verge over email by Google, "Coral is a platform of hardware and software components from Google that help you build devices with local AI — providing hardware acceleration for neural networks ... right on the edge device." To meet customer demands and ideas, Coral will offer two types of products - accelerators and dev boards meant for prototyping new ideas.
