Hi David Gerson,
Thank you for your message and the compliments.
It hasn't been easy as it was our first campaign, and we will do our best to improve the weaker point -shipping-.
Yes, we are definitely going to ask for comments to improve the product. We got some feedback from some backers already. We are also thinking about a bigger version somewhere around 26-28 liters and extra pouches to attach to the MOLLE System on both bags.
Will try to arrange a product feedback survey very soon.
Cheers,
G.

While I think your shipping plans were weak, your product is quite good and very well engineered. If you do it again, you should solicit comments here...overall it’s quite strong product but I am sure I and others would have little feedback to make it even more exceptional. Aside from the shipping, great work. Easily the best constructed Kickstarter campaign I have ever backed.

Hi Mike Vicente,
Shipping the bag (3.2 pounds with packaging) to you from Hong Kong where we are based is actually costing us 8 USD more than what you have paid. If a better solution was available, you can trust us that we would have gone for it.

Hi Chris, I just checked and apparently your bag finally moved! Many backers already received their bags in the US. Salut Fabien, aucun problem pour voyager avec le sac en cabine: les notres ont deja ete a Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, San Francisco and Sydney. ;) In English now for all our backers, we received a few messages about potential issue flying with the bag as a carry-on and it is not a problem at all. Since we started to work on the bag, we have been flying with the Rider Daypack carry-on to Europe / US / Australia and Japan without any problem. We never had even one airport security asking to check the bag more closely.

Hi Till Schafer, your bag left HK Airport on Feb 10. DHL Germany is the shipping company that will deliver it. I believe DHL didn't update the tracking -which happens sometimes- and you should get it shortly. If you don't have it by tomorrow, maybe you could call DHL Germany, give them the tracking number and ask when it will be delivered. I can assist from Hong Kong but it will take more time to get an answer. Hi Michael, glad you like the bag!
The little leather loop at the bottom can be used to attach a carabiner for example, the lock or anything you might think of ;)
Cheers! William Dong, Julien, thank you guys!

Hi David Ball, yes your bag has shipped, you should get it by the end of this week. Will send you the tracking number by email if you didn't receive it yet. @rsant: we thought about making a laptop sleeve, but time didn't allow. If we do a bigger version (like 26L) we will include a laptop sleeve or offer it as an option. ;) @Wendy : Thank you! @Craig: Thank you! Very happy you like it! @David Robb: Thank you! Australia is like next door! ;) @Jeremy Lowe: I just checked and the parcel has been processed by Canada post in Richmond, you should get it very soon!

Hi David Gerson,
I am taking personally of the shipping so I know that your bag is on its way. I will check into the system for your tracking number (not going through backerkit but easyship as it was easier for me to manage. I get back to you by email later. Hi Gadgetstorm, I am not going to argue about anything here as you have way more experience than us. For the only few people that didn't check the Risk and Challenge part and that were not happy, we have found a solution. If we do another kickstarter project in the future, we will do a special *warning* part for the shipping, lesson learned.
I contact you by email to offer you a solution. rsant, Leung Ngai Lung , thank you guys, glad you like it! Cheers

I am late to this debate, but I have only discovered by trying to complete the Backerkit survey that additional shipping costs are sought.
For international backers, and by that I mean any backer not in the creator's country, a big part of the decision to back a project is clicking on the pledge to see how much shipping is going to be. We don't all have the benefit of free shipping which is usually afforded to US backers.
For me in Australia, seeing that a helmet bag albeit with steel mesh had HKD 78 ie AUD 13 shipping indicated to me that this was a reasonable cost for shipping from HK to Oz.
Having backed over nearly 500 Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns, with a large number shipping from the HK, Shenzhen, Guangzhou region, I am aware that shipping from that part of the world to Australia is fairly affordable as we are both in roughly the same Asia- Pacific region.
Thus, I backed this project.
Now to find out that what appears to be the final shipping costs is double the originally represented figure is quite the surprise. Firstly, never have I experienced a project that has insisted on additional shipping costs for fulfillment. Never ever.
To say that additional costs were foreshadowed in the "Risks and Challenges" section is not, with all respect, a reasonable basis as firstly it was not clear that 'additional shipping' charges might be a factor. To me for that to be reasonable it has to be spelt out to the backers in clear words, and not in the throwaway "Risks" section. It should be in the reward pledge section which everyone reads before pledging by clicking. There is really no excuse not to read that section as a backer specifically clicks on it. Not everyone reads the "Risks" section, I certainly don't. To say that in the "Risks" section that "all shipping" has be paid by the backer really does not go far enough, and it really needs to be clear that additional shipping might be charged dependent on certain factors that are spelt out.
Even then, saying that the shipping charges cannot be finalised until the end of the project is like saying that the costs of materials cannot be ascertained so the price might be different in the end. Shipping along with production costs should be worked out by the creators before the launch. That's their job.
If shipping has been overstated, some creators will honestly acknowledge it and credit some $$$ back, and some will throw in extras into the reward. Some creators will feast on it, but backers will have nothing to really rail against if they knowingly accepted the shipping by pledging and not pulling out if the shipping has not been adjusted before the end of a campaign. Many a time, I have felt that shipping was exorbitant for what the item was and where it was being shipped from, but no adjustments being made, I bit the bullet for reasons such as the uniqueness, rarity and sexiness of an item:)
In cases where the shipping has turned out to be more than what was charged, some creators will put it out there and say 'mea culpa,' and 'you don't have to pay the extra but we give you the option.' Having said that I haven't seen any creator say we understated the shipping and you must pay the difference. I am not sure, but there could be something in KS terms that prohibits something like this as I have not seen it before personally.
So, long story short, with "final" charges being more than twice that originally represented, (AUD 32 vs 13) I'd like to know if there you can arrange shipping in line with the original pledged amount. I don't mind slow shipping. I have ridden and lived nicely without a lockable helmet bag for years, and don't need one urgently.
