@Adam McGready You have a Suite where it is possible to configure these kind of settings. In our videos moving forward is achieved by bending the thumb, but this is just one out of many gestures of your hand and fingers that CaptoGlove can detect and that can be selected to perform a given action. Moreover, CaptoGlove can detect when you are walking thanks to a set of fitness applications developed for it. That is, you can choose to move forward in the game by actually moving forward in the reality. Let us know if you have any other doubt.

I maybe missing something, but: how does the glove control movement? In the game demos we see the user moving forward, but I'm not really sure how this is being done.

@CaptoGlove LLC Just backed you product, looking forward to using it. Question: Will there be a function to write numbers / letters? This would be very useful with 3D Cad programs like Inventor / solidworks etc. Could i perhaps set-up a pair of gloves so that when make a specific gesture i change out the set-up so that now i write numbers with specific gestures. And when i´m done i can quickly change back to my "primary settings"? Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi there, Just for uber clarity's sake: The wording "You will receive a pair of CaptoGloves (both left & right hand)" of the timely "Pair of CaptoGloves" reward means "1 left, and 1 right", doesn't it? :) (even if you're saying here in the comments that we will able to still make the final choice during a survey, so it's actually 2 gloves fully customizable, even different sizes, if we so choose for some reason)

@Alessandro and @all Backers. we added some rewards timely sensitive as requested by many of you. Therefore, those are limited in the exposure duration. Please, should you consider to share CaptoGlove with a friend and require two right, one right and one left or a combinations of sizes, select the "Pair of CaptoGloves" rewards and during our survey we will ask you the combination you desire. You can even push us a message and we will take note of it before the survey. This is something that will make the production management a bit more complex but will avoid misunderstandings. Luckily enough I stumbled on the comment section just in time!
I definitely don't need 2 identical gloves! (what if "my friend" is left-handed?) I'm not seeing this choice to be very convenient campaign-wise. I was about to say that I recommended Captogloves to a person definitely interested in buying several couples of pairs of left+right gloves for his project involving some big brands (under NDA) for whom I should begin working with, but according to latest comments, I may be reconsidering my decision and suggestion :( I hope to read good news on next update. Sure, we could order 2 left pairs along with 2 right pairs, but I'd like to test them first myself since I'm the one who's going to decide whether they're a viable solution for the project or not, and I'm going to pay them on my own. This kind of left me some bitter taste. Please revise your decisions wisely (and wording of a few pledges, a few of them are a bit ambiguous), I honestly care more to provide someone the full VR interactivity with both hands rather than "sharing one for playing with a friend". Of course not everyone is going to make the same use of the devices I'm thinking about, so I respect your choices and will act accordingly, but would really be a pity. Fingers crossed :)

With this whole debacle of 2 gloves vs 2 gloves but have to be the same, I'm sitting here face palming. I mean what if you are left handed and your friend is right handed. If you can't even figure something like this out, I'm sorry to say that I can't trust you with my money. I'm out.

I understand that both gloves are for the same hand for "Timely Rate CaptoGlove x 2 Bundle" but "Timely Rate - Pair of CaptoGloves" appears to be an exact copy/paste of the "Super Early Bird - Pair of CaptoGloves" text but at a lower price level.

Hi! What's the difference between "Timely Rate CaptoGlove x 2 Bundle" for $200 and the "Timely Rate - Pair of CaptoGloves" for $245? The only thing I can see is that the x2 bundle is for two single gloves while the pair specifically mentions left and right. Could I back at the x2 bundle level and get one left glove and one right glove, or do they have to be the same (eg: both rights)?

@Himoe Hi Himoe, we didn't have the chance to try it with a vr suit yet, but it would be a terrific combination. About tracking precision the suit is based on the same principle of the CaptoSensor, so the difference will eventually be in the implementation. To answer your question about vive and oculus, we have exploited the opportunity to use the vive trackers after having been asked by htc to do so. Should oculus have the same kind of opportunity, that could definitely be something to keep into consideration.
So I'm rather excited about backing this project and am really looking forward to trying the gloves out. I'm curious though, have you all ever tried these gloves with a VR suit such as the Hardlight VR suit (also on Kickstarter)? This suit has inertial positional trackers on the arms. Do you think that tracking via the Captosensors would work better than the inertial trackers on the VR suit? Also, have you been working with the Oculus group as closely as you have with the Vive group? Thanks

@Marsha : It's always a pleaseure answer you as any idea or suggestion and the curiosity from all the backers switch on a fire on us especially in this moment. In this specific moment the way you use immediately both CaptoGloves (right and left) is a PC/mobile game/app where you have so many functions to assign for different movements as already described (20/each CaptoGlove). What we are proposing now is a solution immediately usable for the past and present games/Apps replacing any kind of controller used until now. I think you know the market in VR is growing now, that VR world where you need, want and expect to use your virtual hand exactly as it was your real hand.. We are working very hard for it! We are doing our best and in the fastest way we can but we really have multiple requests we are trying to accomplish and yours is one if these we are working for!

@CaptoTeam, thanks so much! I think I'm starting to get a better general idea, but it would definitely help for you guys to explain on video and show us when you're ready. Maybe you can explain the scenarios where added sensors are needed and show us why. For people getting two gloves, I know you've said the CaptoSensor can be removed from the second glove and used just like the standalone sensors (though wouldn't we need a way to clip it to our clothing? I'd imagine it's tiny if it's inside the glove and would need an attachment.). Is there a high likelihood that people might need to wear both gloves and added CaptoSensors on their body? I guess the concern is that when the gloves ship, we may end up realizing after the fact that we really do need the added sensors for the games/apps we use. I know they can be added anytime afterwards, but then we will have lost the opportunity to get them at the best possible price. People also won't be too happy if they backed for the sensors and then realize they don't actually need them for the games they play and/or apps they use. That's why it would help for your team to get on camera and explain this whole sensor situation from A-Z. This way we can really see what they do, how they work, get an idea of the types of use-cases that warrant using them, and so forth. But also for a simpler setup! The longer it takes, the worse it is, so just adding gloves to the HTC equipment is a great an d unexpected addition!

@Alessandro As Denise said it will be possible. The CaptoSensor gives additional information on the position of your hand in the space (without using any camera). We are working to integrate the Vive tracker as an additional option for users and developers as well.

@ Marsha, we understand perfectly what you mean; at the moment the technology inside CaptoGlove base let you use any finger and hand movements (orientation, acceleration, elevation) and convert it into specific functions into the games/apps that normally you used through any controller.
At the same time we will supply SDKs for Unity3D, Unreal, Android and iOS to use this technology and give the motion capture to be closer to VR games/Apps are coming in growing number. To give position of your hand you need a Captosensor through and software algorithm update. In this moment we have several requests in different fields already scheduled, we let you know what we can do to let you understand better. About Live streaming let us check, you are perfectly right.
