CarWink Car Communication Device

Say exactly what you’re thinking to other drivers when you have the CarWink Car Communication Device. Attaching to the back windshield of your vehicle, this electronic device can display a variety of messages to your fellow drivers. Of course, it can handle tons of cute messages such as emoji. However, it can also relay important information such as “pedestrian crossing” and “accident ahead.” This technology is revolutionary in that it allows you to communicate like never before. All of this is possible without requiring other vehicles to have the technology. The bright LED lights work perfectly at night as well as during a bright day. Finally, the CarWink has a range of 30 feet so you can notify more than just the driver behind you.

Review from Kickstarter
Today is Wednesday the 17th June. Update time.
Jay Crook
Review from Kickstarter
He DID explicitly specify what he wants... He asked for an update on progress towards manufacturing. How much more specific do you want? You said you had scheduled updates for every 27th of the month. Today, by my watch, is the 25th. You have two days to produce an update on progress. Specifically. Explicitly. Progress towards manufacturing. As requested. Also, specifically, explicitly, updates on everything else too... Don't forget to mention progress with testing, certification, etc. Everything that you are doing, that is related to the product in question. Don't only give us updates on stuff we've asked for, don't blame us not asking the right questions for you not sharing the right info. If you update us on everything that's happening, then you cover all your bases automatically. You won't have to worry about lots of questions asking lots of things. Being open and upfront will save you time in the long run.

Dear @Rupesh Pol. We regularly update our progress on the 27th of every month. In mid June, we also post an additional update showing the demo of the physical product. You can see all the updates here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/503429569/carwink-making-the-road-a-more-connected-place/updates
If there is still any information you would like to know more about the progress, please explicitly specify it. We'd love to answer and will follow up in the upcoming updates.

Can you please post update on progress towards manufacturing? Your updates really don’t show any progress or provide any additional information.

Hi @Monmon. We estimate that it will take at most five months to pass the certification for Japan, and we will keep you all informed by regularly updating you the results of product certification in the upcoming months.

I am an investor from Japan, but saying that the shipment date shifted in November is that Japan's cloud foundation camp-fire also shifts? Since I want it earlier, I do not mind the kickstarter version, but I would like a version that got Japanese accredited standards if it comes to the same shipping date.

Dear all. We have just released the update news. Please see:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/503429569/carwink-making-the-road-a-more-connected-place/posts/2198448
We will keep you all informed by regularly updating our progress on the 27th of every month. But we will issue a follow-up update during the Computex/InnoVEX exhibition from June 6th to 8th.
To @Ramsey Barksdale:
Please send us a message on KickStarter to tell us your new address. We can update it for you.

@Innovart Design- With the shipment date postponed I'm concerned due to the fact I will not reside at my current location. Is there a way to update the shipping address?
Jay Crook
Review from Kickstarter
27th, you say? Well, according to MY watch, today is the 28th, which makes the update late... However, I'll allow that since I am in New Zealand, And we are ahead of american time zones, that it's still only the 27th there, you are still within the pre-determined date, albeit only just, you will still need to pull your fingers out to produce the update in time. Just about. According to the world clock on my phone, it's almost 6pm on the 27th. I'm betting you let us down... Prove me wrong.
Innovart Design Inc.
Review from Kickstarter
Dear all. We have previously mentioned in our update news and the comment that we regularly update a production progress on the 27th of every month. Your questions are not ignored but we decided to answer all the questions in the upcoming update on the 27th May, where we will announce the shipping date and show you more details of the product. Please be patient in this process.

Thanks @Ramsey, but I think they are successfully ignoring me on enough platforms right now, without giving them another thing to ignore me on... There's the tried and true method of proving you are in touch with, and appreciate and respect your backers... ignore the shit out of 'em!

@Jay Crook- Go to Innovart's website. Maybe there's a contact e-mail or some way to reach someone of significance. Maybe we all should do it, try a different venue to get a reply.

@QuPii Koray, I'm feeling the very same way here. It's been too log since any actual, tangible progress was made, and the only communication we have had in quite a while was them telling us they have a blog, which is not only crap, but also hasn't been updated since the initial post. I feel left out, I feel that they do not care.

Innovart Design Inc., Will we receive our rewards as proposed? (June 2018)
I'm potentially relocating for work soon, would like to know if there will be/is any delays that will prevent shipping next month. If so, how can I update my shipping information? Also, as an investor in your Carwink project I think it's appropriate and professional for Innovart Design Inc. to have occasional and clear communication. From a business perspective, businesses that have investors usually appeal to the communicative needs of the investors. We'd love to be on the same page, us investors are worth an occasional e-mail. To all at Innovart Design Inc. thank you for your time, energy, and efforts in making the roads safer for us all. To my fellow investors, small chance but I hope to cross paths with one of you once we receive our reward, would be very cool! As cool as Carwink is, the underline of it is driving safety. Let's set a great example to the other drivers while we have fun. Peace.

So, this blog thing... It's pretty much dead, eh? I checked it when you first mentioned it, and was unimpressed. We don't really want a blog. We want (I'm not sure I do, fully, anymore!) the electronic doodacky to show drivers little pictures of things. If not the units yet, because they are not ready, then perhaps some info on the progress you are making. But no. We get told you have a blog. Thats perfect if you require something soporific. I checked the blog again just now, and you know what? It has not changed since it was announced. There's nothing new on the blog at all. It's not a blog, it a webpage with three crappy things on it, that are totally unrelated to this project. I remain unimpressed. I'm also underwhelmed, unenthused, and growing discontented... A whole month is too long to wait for updates. Fortnightly would be better. If you have nothing to report, then tell us that you've done nothing for two weeks. After all, we suspect that already...

Can we get a product update please? The blog is irrelevant. We haven’t gotten a real update in quite some time.

I want updates on progress, testing, production, plastic experimentation, durability trials, software testing, hardware manipulation, mould refining, etc. I do not want "Hey, we have a blog". My idiot son has a blog. His stupid girlfriend has a blog. On Facebook, my DOG has a blog. Blogs are crap, really. What about actual things related to the product in question?

@Jay Crook Since the production of the app is in progress, we may go through several iterations to adjust the wireframe and functions. To avoid unnecessary misunderstanding, we decided not to reveal all the details but provide a digest of the layouts. Therefore, we replaced the original wireframe we posted yesterday with a new image. This new image only focuses on the main function of the app and should give you a clearer visual on the app’s interface. Please click the link again and your should see it now. Sorry for any confusion.

That link is dead. It just goes to the group page, and nothing else. No pictures. Nothing.

@Jay Crook, Since the map of the wireframe is really large, we just added the image to the Facebook group and cropped it into several parts so you can see more clearly. Please click to the link below for more details:

@Kenneth Ho. This is the kind of response that will make them stop trying to add in user definable emoji. You, sir, are the lowest common denominator, which prevents the nice things that everyone else wants. They say that a crowd is only as smart as the stupidest person in it. That, sir, is you. We have been campaigning for user definable emoji, and stated, unequivocally, that we would not use offensive emoji, and there's you, the dumb one, stating that you specifically want offensive emoji. You idiot. You only needed to stay quiet, and people might think you are a fool, but instead, you opened your big mouth and removed all doubt. I facepalmed when I read your post. I reread it, to see if I had misunderstood it, but no, you really did prove, without question, that you are an imbecile. I shudder to think you might reproduce.

Dear Backers:
It’s great to see you like the idea about the Facebook group. Just as what @citiboi, and @Fadhli Zainuddin said, backers are not only the customers but more like investors who help us operate the business. Therefore, we would like to help you understand the spirit of our brand by all means and always listen to your voice. We’ll do our best to improve the product and fulfill your needs. As a startup, we understand your concerns, so the only thing we can do now is to make our best efforts to get through the production. In order to ease your anxiety and concerns, we have decided to post a production progress update on the 27th of every month from here on. Also, we once again remind you that the latest update news was already released on Feb. 27th. Please click the following link for more details:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/503429569/carwink-making-the-road-a-more-connected-place/posts/2124563
Furthermore, don’t forget to join our Facebook group if you would like to receive an immediate response. Please check here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/349238738911448/
In the group, you can post, create a poll, and communicate with other members. Please be courteous and respectful of the other members in the group. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. @ Peter Greene Regarding your suggestion, we have discussed this in the team. Finally, we have come to a conclusion on the design direction of the first launch phase of CarWink. The mission of CarWink is to make the road a more connected place, so we will pay more attention on this core value instead of adding other minority features. We will refine the product quality and user experience on this basis. Nevertheless, we think you did propose a good idea, because you inspired us to explore various applications based on CarWink. We appreciate your input and will take it under consideration in the following versions. Please explain your idea in more details about the scenarios in our Facebook group, and also make a poll for the members to vote for your ideas. Thank you again for your participation in the group and your support of CarWink.

@Fadhli Zainuddin - Well, if Innovart Design hope to garner support for CarWink 2.0 (and other future projects), they had better not act like a dictator and listen to their backers/investors. I do think that they are earnest about this as they have set up a Facebook group for this.

Review from Kickstarter
Citiboi; those examples were great, thanks for sharing. I had some in my mind too for example; roadblocks just because somebody doesn't get a license to drive, auto gate with barrier at the train station or outside drinking water must be off the plane; hence my opinion. And yes you are right about being investors, and a good developer will always listen to the voice of their investors and prospects for future reference. However, there is no policy or system here that our voice must be heard no matter what to impact the decision; such as voting or polls in democracy. therefore, the decision making is still within the power of developer, just like being dictator i guess?

Since this is solar powered, I'm assuming it will work even when I'm not driving, correct? I'm just wondering how I can use it as a theft/vandalism deterrent when my car is parked in my driveway. Maybe a red flashing camera symbol on a dim setting perhaps? Anyone have any ideas on this? As for so many of you, quit being whiny cry babies. I'm embarrassed for you.

Review from Kickstarter
@Fadhli Zainuddin - Which is why in the first place I have suggested that we should let the law deal with these "few" irresponsible people. Do we need to erect barriers or barricades along the pavement just because a few mindless pedestrians will jay walk? Do we need to regulate the sale of spray paint cans just because a few irresponsible people will vandalize? You are surrendering too much power to the Dev when you say that they should be treated like governments in implementing laws or that everything should be up to the Dev. In crowdfunding projects, backers are to be treated as investors and not customers. We should be part of the decision making process as we are investing in an idea rather than purchasing a finished product. I may not agree with your comment but it does not mean that I am correct and you are wrong. We are just wired differently. So no offence intended.
Fadhli Zainuddin
Review from Kickstarter
@citiboi there are many laws were implemented in our daily life due to this "few" people, and if Dev wishes to implement such law as well, everything should be fair and logical. And thats all i meant. Regardless, everthing is up to the Dev. Second, I was trying to be logical as well when i mentioned the payable customizable custom emojis. The downside is many of us will be very unhappy with subscription, and the upside is the maintenance and the cashflow of the company. Again, it is not up to me to decide and we will see how CarWink goes after this. See if they are so flexible and allow free customizable emojis OR resricted and proposed a payable package for further upgrade of emojis. No offense dear friend.

Update will be out on the 27th February... That's what was said... Today, here in New Zealand, is Thursday 1st March. We said our farewells to the 27th February two days ago. Even if we take into account the effects of the time dilation, because New Zealand Is actually from the future, the update is late. We are not up to date. 2/10. Must try harder. Stay behind after class, and finish your assignment.

Ground control to major Tom, your circuit's dead, there's something wrong. Can you hear me, major Tom? Here we are, sitting in a limbo, wondering where you are, developer goes quiet, backers begin to riot... If we make enough noise, perhaps they will remember us, and update us...

I have FULL confidence in the product. As a volunteer Firefighter, I would find it useful to have some sort of way to customize a firetruck emjoi so it can display A firetruck then text saying " Responding." I do hope that you are able to have "Preset" customizations, where you can choose from pre-developed images and then add text, would be cool. Either way, I'm SUPER stoked and hope it may start to ship a little earlier than expect c:!

@Innovart Design - It is GREAT that you are at least listening to your backers. I will now enjoin @Jay Crook, @Dansizzle, @Fadli Zainuddin and ALL OTHERS who wishes to have emoji customization to make yourselves heard slo that Innovart Design will include this feature in the CarWink, I really believe that there will only be very very few backers/users who will misuse the CarWink. Just let the public deal with these irresponsible backers/users (if there is any at all).

Due to the heavy workload of preparing for massive production, we apologize for the delay in replying to all of the messages in the community. The team started to keep rolling right after the day when we achieved the funding goal. For these two months, we have spent a lot of time connecting with vendors. So far the production progress is going well. We will start to update about the latest progress towards the end of this month. Please be confident in our work commitment, and be considerate that we always make the necessary efforts to maximize the service quality and to ensure the best user experience for our customers. Additionally, we are working with lawyers to figure out the specific rules and regulations pertaining to our product. As soon as we have the results we will share them with the community. @Jay Crook, @citiboi, @Dansizzle, @Fadhli Zainuddin, and for those people who care about the emoji customization function for CarWink, although at this current stage we decided to limit the emoji customization functionality and mainly emphasize the core functions of CarWink, however, we do care about your interests and have started to consider including the customizable function in the upgraded version of the software. In order to understand your needs, we decide to open up a dialogue by creating a private Facebook group for developers and backers. We sincerely invite all the backers to join us in this group where we can communicate and work out a solution. Your suggestions will be helpful as we continue to work on future updates. The details about how to join the group will be shown in the latest update. @ Paul Del Rosso, @ Kyle Kissmann Thank you for the reminder! We are considering a software design that can import more emojis, and will be seeing if those functions can meet all the drivers’ requirements. @ Adam R The survey link is invalid because it expired. We will re-activate the link and send it to you again. Sorry for the inconvenience it caused you, and thank you for the notice. @ Stephen Chia Thank you for the information. We’ll carefully evaluate the pros and cons of adopting capacitor charged batteries in our product, and provide our results in the news update. @Jen Y Yes. You can still obtain the updated color you want. We will send you an email to confirm your preferences for the products. If you have any questions, you can send us a message to confirm what you’ve ordered.

Jay, I would like to point you out to the FAQ's. Here is their refund policy: "Due to the nature of Kickstarter, we cannot offer refunds to backers once the project ends, with the exception of the unlikely instance of a defective reward being shipped out. Once the campaign ends, your pledges are put to use immediately to ensure that CarWink enters into production as soon as possible. Therefore, we cannot offer refunds once the campaign has ended."
Sincerely,

So what's the go here, devs? Do I get my refund or not? You have my PayPal details. Get it done. You see, I sent payment to you in your chosen manner, you have to send yours to me in my chosen manner. Or, you can keep the money and add in user designable emoji. Simple, really...

@Fadhli Zainuddin - It is totally ridiculous that the vast majority of us responsible CarWink users will have to subjugate our enjoyment of being able to customize emojis to the very very few (if any at all) irresponsible users who will abuse the CarWink. I wonder what you will say if Innovart Designs decide to impose a fee to have your personalized emojis coded and approved.
Fadhli Zainuddin
Review from Kickstarter
Imho, lacking the personal customizable emoji is a bit sad for a great invention such as CarWink, as mentioned by our fellow friends below. But again, I have to agree with the developer that putting in a personal customizable function where it can be misuse is a "reality waiting to be happened". Of course I don't want to meet another CarWink user that uses middle finger emoji on me out of no where and cause more roadrage. Instead, I do suggest if you can come up with regular updates for emojis where people can vote in forums OR even buy other emojis package that comes after this. So you can control what not to be use and many will still be happy to receive alot more emojis.
Jay Crook
Review from Kickstarter
In case my email reply didn't come through... Yes, I really do want to cancel my pledge. This product, without user definable emoji will not be of any use to me.
