Transform the way you interact with the world with the Specdrums Connected Musical Rings. These ingenious wearables use an app to turn color into sound. No matter where you tap with the ring, the Specdrums enable you to create to your heart’s content. You can use the included 12-color keyboard or you can opt for the world of color around you. Using the app, you can connect up to ten Specdrums at once which is perfect to have one on each finger. From there, you can set certain colors to play certain sounds. Hi Spectrums team, I finally opened and used my spectrum rings (waited since they were a gift for someone). The one that works is great but I also have 1 dead ring. It charges but does nothing else. Let me know what to do.

Just rechecked the Sphero app and, after a lot of work, it seems to be working again, but it was broken for a while and I'm still not happy with Sphero, and am still pessimistic about what they will do with Specdrums as the Specdrums app already requires being logged in for full functionality and it looks like the 'microphone' function has disappeared.

Just got the email that Specdrums have been taken over by Sphero. Does this mean that they will ruin the app like they did with the Sphero app? Make us have to be logged in and online in order to use the Specdrums? Stop supporting the useful app and replace it with a pointless game? I bought a Sphero for the programming and now have a great piece of hardware that is useless because they made the app logged in and online to use it and then took away the server to use the app. Needless to say I am not a fan of Sphero, after having been one of their customers.

@DP - if you haven't received it yet, this is the tracking number that gets automatically sent to you when we print off your label - UA422054797US. At last check, the tracking indicates that the package is "in transit" though it doesn't say where. @Hong Chuan - this is your tracking number - UA421542780US and the same status applies to you as well. @All who are international backers waiting for packages - please contact your local postal office AND/OR contact your country's customs office to inquire about your package. Be sure to provide them your tracking number.

The Customs officer indeed only looked at the ring's and cables.
He said that there is, like you said, no CE-label. And he also said that it HAS to be on the Item itself. Guess that's why he ignored the Box. I got a paper that's telling what requirements are missing.

*complete manufacturer information
*indication for identification
*declaration of conformity
*German instruction/warning notes/information brochure/information
*crossed-out waste bin There is more, but i don't know how to translate :D
I can send it to you, maybe it will help you solve this problem? I got a mate who actually got his Specdrums whitout any problems.. maybe it's just a "officer-mood-thing". I definitely would prefer a re-air than a refound!
but Im not sure if this will work :/

@Cyril and @Florian - I'm SO SORRY that this is happening. We've had terrible issues shipping specifically to Germany recently. First things first - there IS CE certification label on every box (if you would like a picture of it, we're happy to share it via the info@ email). Second, despite the fact that there is a CE label on the box, we're getting the impression that German customs officials are viewing the rings as suspicious since it's a completely brand new product. The weird thing is that some of our German customers were able to get their rings initially, which is why we didn't forsee any issues. Then, we were notified by one of our German Kickstarter backers that his rings got sent back to us because we didn't include a technical file/dossier with German customs officials. In the research we did while preparing international orders, there was no mention anywhere about sending a technical file/dossier with the customs forms. We haven't had many issues with other countries within the EU in general (mostly long wait times for all international backers across the board), but we've been having the most issues getting the rings out to customers in Germany. I've contacted our manufacturer to see if we can obtain a copy of a technical dossier/file to send out to the customs officials - currently waiting to hear back from them. If you're a German backer (or general international backer) and you're dealing with the same shipping and customs issues, please let us know! We really need to hear from you. In addition, you do have options: 1) this involves a longer wait time, but we can re-send your rings after filing the technical dossier with the customs officials; 2) we can provide you a full refund. Again, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! I promise that we are looking into a solid solution for this very big issue. Don't hesitate to reach out.

Hey,
After 9 month of waiting i finally got mail from the custom that my Specdrums has arrived.
So today i went there to pick it up, i was so full of anticipation!
Sadly i could't take it with me..unfortunately, your product does not have any markings that are mandatory in the entire EU.
They will send it back to you.
Im super sad about that.. is there a way to get a refound?

Unfortunately one of the rings I received is broken. (The Usb plug-in is loose inside the ring so I can’t charge/use it). :((
How can we solve this please?
Fyi, I’m in Europe so I payed 35$ upon receiving the package for customs so would love to find a solution to avoid having to pay that cost twice.

Got my specdrums, and I am really really excited :D I had connection issues too with my android, but found out that beside having bluetooth on, you also need to have GPS/location services on for it to work. Mine kept refusing to work too until I put GPS on, and now they work like a charm!

@pabbajita, great to hear that It's running well on your iPhone. Our iOS app is better at this time though we are working hard to bring the Android app up to speed. One difficult aspect is that there are many different android devices to account for. Let us know your favorite sounds/features while using Specdrums!

Hi,
I made a try with another device (Iphone 5S) and app version 5.12 : that's worked!!
I don't know why it doesn't work with my Samsung tablet but the problem come from it and not your rings.

Bluetooth and position are enabled in the app (version 1.2.2) but always same problem.

@pabbajita first make sure your Bluetooth and GPS are enabled in the app. Also sometimes you have to exit the app completely and start it over to get rid of the blue lights (which can even happen also with iOS). @Hong Chuan, last check on stamps.com says there was no delivery scan but when checking the tracking number says that the package is in transit to the next destination, though sadly, they do not EVER specify which destination! If it ever returns to our headquarters, we will send it back to you ASAP

@Ashwin and @Pabbajita - are you trying to connect your Specdrums Rings through the Specdrums app (i.e., not through Settings)? And are they blinking blue when you tap them (indicating that they're searching for Bluetooth connection)? Please make sure you have the most recent Android app on the Google Play store (version 1.2.0). @Jose all Kickstarter orders have been shipped! Did you receive your tracking number? If you haven't received it yet, it should arrive any day!

Hi @Erico! Because Specdrums use low-energy Bluetooth, you don't actually need to pair the rings using your phone's Bluetooth settings. Instead, while Bluetooth is turned on, tap the ring icon in the bottom left of the app, then tap the ring firmly multiple (7-10) times. Let me know how that works!

Hi!
I have recently received mu pair of SD, but my rings just wont pair with my samsung S8. I can see it on bluetooth as SD65, but the ring rejects my attempts of pairing.
Someone said something about turning the GPS off and try again, but it just wont pair.
What should I do SD team?

@nguyet (or anyone this applies to in the future) - 1) Is your GPS on? 2) Have you went into the settings of your devices to turn bluetooth on? 3) You will not be able to connect to a laptop quite yet. We are working on getting a laptop/desktop feature but it is not ready, so you won't be able to connect to a laptop. Try these things out and get back to us. Thank you for checking in about this!

We have tried with 3 different android devices All of them have more than enough storage
On the Mobilphone of my son from Asus and on our samsung tablet we were able to download the app but we have difficulties to connect the specdrums with the app S65 on both devices It always gives the message "SD65 reject pairing"
On the other asus phone we still get the "failure code 963"
On the laptop we were also not able to connect neither
Hope You can find soon a solution to our problems
For lower the tax for the backers there are possibility without being illegal Other kickstarter does it, too.

Hi, just got my spectrums today and have to paid £14.50 for tax..so high for the tax. Other disappointment is one ring could connected to app and but other one is stay silent. No blinking blue light likes other one..tried recharge but nothing happens. need help here please.thank you

@nguyet what device are you downloading the app on? That's a strange error that we haven't seen before. Do you have enough storage on your device for the app? And we're sorry for the relatively high import tax fee - we could not label the packages as gifts since we were informed this would be illegal. @Ruslan you are in our final Kickstarter batch (all backers after #1491). We're receiving the order today and should have them all shipped by the end of tomorrow! @Christopher do you see "SD65" appear on your bluetooth list after tapping? If not, I'm not exactly sure what the issue is. We're a bit early on in Windows development, but will send out updates when we make progress. In the meantime, feel free to message us to help debug the issue. @mena I'm sorry if we did not refund your order yet - we'll look into this today and send you your refund. @David yours should have already shipped and it's marked as "in transit".
