CoPilot GMT Quartz Aviator Watch

Editor's Rating
4.8?
Discovered on 2017-04-24

Take your timekeeping to the skies with the CoPilot GMT Quartz Aviator Watch. Taking inspiration from military and air traffic control, this watch displays the time in two formats. The main hands of this watch include the time of your current time zone. In addition, the CoPilot GMT Watch also displays the time zone used by military and air traffic control. This is referred to as ZULU time, GMT, or UTC and uses a 24-hour rotating bezel on the watch. Of course, you can also choose to set the hands to any time zone in the world. This stylish watch is powered by a 515-24 Swiss Ronda quartz movement. Finally, the hands and numbers of the CoPilot GMT Watch are finished with Japan LumiNova. With this, you can view the time even in total darkness. Holding it all together is a highly durable stainless steel case complete with a sandblasted finish.

@Brian: Thanks Brian I appreciate that. I am checking with the factory regarding the date wheel but it may not be practical. Trying to get a Jump start on production. Thanks again Brendon
Brian
Hi Brendon! No worries. Thanks for looking into it. The watch will look great either way. Just a personal preference I suppose. Congrats on the successful funding of the project! The next 4 months are going to seem like forever. Cheers, Brian
Brendon Nunes
@Brian: Thanks Brian, this actually might be possible but I will have to check with the Factory to find out. I know it can be done with some movements, I am not sure if we are able to do it with the quantities we will be ordering. Thanks, Brendon
Brian
Hey, Brendon. Have you thought of using white writing on black background for the date wheel?
Brendon Nunes
@Konstantinos: Thanks Konstantinos for your question. Actually I have never had anyone ask for replacement gaskets before but I agree we should make them available. I will have replacement screws and pins available for this watch and I will also make the gaskets available. Thanks for the heads up on this, I appreciate it.
Thanks Brendon
Brendon Nunes
@Thomas Campbell, Thanks Thomas, the coating is in the inside if the crystal. Thanks for your question, Brendon
Konstantinos
Hi Brendon, I'd also like to ask two things
Will it be easy to find replacement gaskets in the future, when time will come to change them?
How easy will it be to find those wrist pins, in case they bent? You see I've never had a watch with such pins. If they are especially made for the case, would it be possible to buy some of them along with the watch?
In general, will there be a stock of replacement parts? You see, I always buy a watch with eyes to the future!
The project is almost accomplished, I'm so happy!
Thomas Campbell
Sapphire Crystal with AR Coating. Is the coating on the outside or the inside of the crystal?
Outside more scratch prone, inside, less so.
Brendon Nunes
@Thomas Holmfrid: Thanks Thomas for your comment. Not a bad idea but there are about fifteen colors of Lume available and from my experience the white is most effective. Not really sure I can offer a variety of colors based on the quantity of hands we will be producing for this project. I do appreciate your input. Thanks, Brendon
Tomas Holmfrid
How about another LumiNova color on the "GMT" hand?
Brendon Nunes
Thank you Backers for all your kind words of advice. I will respond to your comments in more detail as soon as I can. Obviously the overwhelming message to me is leave the campaign as is. I will take your advice.
Thanks, Brendon
Indra
Hi Brendon, I'm happy with the quartz movement and the price point. But having said that, personally for me what I want is a different colour dial, which I'm fully understand that it will not be available any time soon.
So because of this reason I'm pulling out. All the best with the campaign and look forward to your next project!
Florian Werbinek
@Romuald:
If I understood correctly, the initial watch with Ronda movement would not change in any case.
But you would have the OPTION to change for a chinese automatic movement :)

Re comment from Romuald: Hello Again Romuald, so far it looks like everyone would like to keep the campaign as is. Please take a look at the comments from the update. Thanks, Brendon

Re comment from Romuald: Hello Romuald, I did my best to explain myself it is not money driven it is about keeping the campaign funded and keeping my backers interested and informed. It is also giving my backers information and choices they may or may not have any interest in. This is why I am asking not deciding without feedback from my Backers. Thanks, Brendon
Romuald
Brandon.
It is very sad. I was happy to backed this projet because of the quality,Quartz mouvement and price point . Now it looks like everything is going to change.. not sure if I am interested in this projet anymore. I am guessing if the changes are money driven or pure customer service. I guess I have few more days to decide..

Re Comment From Rene Ubaldo Garza Cantu: Thanks Rene Early Birds $179.00 US then $199.00 US. Because our campaign is priced in Canadian Dollars that is approximate. About $235.00 and $260.00 CDN respectively. Thanks, Brendon
Rene Ubaldo Garza Cantu
Hi!
What would be the price of the automatic option?
:)
Brendon Nunes
Hello Backers: My apology I have been doing a lot of Soul searching over the past few days. Forgive me for not responding to your comments individually. I am going to post another update sometime later today to ask you advice on some ideas I would like present to you for your feedback. Stay tuned, Thanks Brendon
Indra
Hi Brendon, thanks for your reply. Im just asking if you have something up your sleeve to show us. Sometimes creators do introduce additional options during campaign, but if this is something that you do not plan on the beginning. No worries!
Prasad Sadasivam
Thank you very much for your honest and kind reply! Still very much looking forward to owning this great watch!
Brendon Nunes
Hello Backers, Sorry I don't have time right now to respond to all your comments individually but I appreciate your understanding very much. I will be back to you a little later. Thanks, Brendon
Romuald
Brendon,
Great response thank you!
To all backers let's be reasonable with request.!

Brendon, Thank you so much for your detailed and honest response. To be honest, I regret throwing around options.. I spoke with a friend of mine who backed the co-pilot with me and he said he is not backing since it looked too similar, that was part of the request when asking for options .. a selfish part of me was also to buy one more if there was a different color option for the great price you are offering at. All said, your reasoning is well valid, I personally love the watch as it is.. making more options will only push me to buy an additional timepiece. Good luck again, will enjoy the ride and the watch for sure. Jetson gospel

Too bad, I mistyped your name and it seems I cannot edit my comment. Please accept my excuse ;)
Florian Werbinek
Brendan,
thank you very much for your great update mail. I appreciate this since I know it takes some time sending such out.
I totally understand that it makes no sense to provide further options, I think if this one is successful you might start another campaign soon ;)
Personally I love extraordinary, accented watches. But I backed your campaign because of your watch as it is - and I will love to wear it.
I was exactly looking for a GMT watch, talked to a friend about that a few days ago - and boom, there it was.
I already conmented that I do not like plastic bands, so thank you very much for adding the option for a NATO band as a stretch goal. Really appreciated!
To support you further, I already asked to buy one of your previous automatic watches along with the new GMT? Because this would be exactly what my previously mentioned friend is looking for :)
Thank you for being so communicative, keep this up!
With best wishes from Germany, Florian

Hey Brendan, I backed this watch "your watch" and I believe you will give us a great product. All the ideas to make this watch different are not yours . Maybe next time you will make a watch of many colors.
Brendon Nunes
Hello Backers: I would prefer to post an update to address your questions regarding the different options you have requested. I should have something up in the next few hours as I would like to post some photos as well. Thanks, Brendon
Indra
@creator, so any chance that you will be offering the watch in different dial colours?
Jetson Nitya Gospel
Could not delete my previous post, Bezel choices or a no date window option will be cool as well.
Jetson Nitya Gospel
Love the strap, whats next Brendon .. Bezel color choices ;)
Indra
Hi Brendon, awesome watch!
I know it's a long shot from your comments below, but would there be any possibility for you to offer the watch in different dial colours? That would be amazing
Brendon Nunes
Re comment from Shane St.Aubin: Thanks Shane, getting closer now. We sure appreciate everyone's support. Thanks Brendon
Shane St.Aubin
Awesome!! Like the idea of another strap.
Brendon Nunes
Re Comment from Florian Werbinek: Thanks for your comment Florian how about we meet you half way:) Ricky and myself are looking at adding a Free Black Nato Band as a stretch Goal so stay tuned. As far as the numbering is concerned it is not something my current supplier has the ability to do so I don't feel confident offering this as an option. Thanks, Brendon
Brendon Nunes
Re Comment from Bruce Foley: Thanks for your compliments Bruce, we are very serious about what we do and try not to get distracted by offering too many choices and options. Getting close to our funding goal now so looking forward to producing a great watch for our faithful Backers.
Thanks, Brendon
Florian Werbinek
Also would be cool to have the option to get a GMT along with a Zulu-01Automatic...
Florian Werbinek
Very nice watch.
I would prefer to NOT have a rubber band, PLEASE add a Nylon/NATO band option!
Also, numbering would be cool to see!
Best from Germany :)

Brendon, Thank you so much. Yeah, missed the update.. but thank you for clarifying. You get to see first hand and I trust your judgement. Super psyched for this one, good luck with the campaign. :) Cheers.
Bruce Foley
Thanks for your email. Yes I have backed about 8 watches. I look for a certain style and people who care about their project. Your watch and your concern about this project fit the bill. We r in it to win it. Good luck
Brendon Nunes
Re Comment from Jetson Nitya Gospel: Thanks for your comment but you may have missed my reply to your comment yesterday which I posted on the CoPilot campaign: Here it is....Thanks for the quick response to the news. I will have to admit here that we did try to accommodate the wishes of our Backers and actually did receive samples of a fully Lumed Bezel in the last campaign. We just weren't happy with how long the Lume lasted and the look of the Lume on the Bezel. It was a milky white not a bright white in keeping with the design characteristics of the watch. The bezel printing on the CoPilot is super white and we just could not achieve this with the full Lume on the Bezel. We really try to perfect the watch to the best of our ability before we present the watch to our Backers. Sometimes we can't do it all but we try. Hoping for good results with this campaign. Thanks for your support, Brendon
Jetson Nitya Gospel
Stretch goal to lume the bezel pls.
