COSMOS – Magnetic, Wooden Space Toys

Editor's Rating
4.7?
Discovered on 2015-12-04

Cosmos – simple wooden toys that inspire exploration and creative play. Toys that are long-lasting in both meaning and quality, so beautiful that kids and grownups will want to keep forever. Calling all pioneers and adventurers, explore with these magnetic interchangeable pieces! Construct rockets that propel spacecrafts. Or better yet, construct multi-stage rockets to explore far beyond where any human has ever ventured. Start the countdown for launch with the space shuttle and its sleek double-delta wings. What about numerous space probes and landers that collect scientific data about distant planets? Or orbiting satellites for observation, navigation or communications? Construct the Hubble Space Telescope that lets us learn about Earth from the most stunning images. And of course, there is nothing to stop us from creating a UFO saucer.

@Kaon Thank you for your message, due to its shape the planet is slightly more difficult to take apart. We found it easier to separate the disk using the thumb and pushing horizontally. Please feel free to contact us on help@huzidesign.com if you can't take them apart.

The finished products are beautiful to view and touch, and definitely worth the wait. However, I was quite upset to learn that I cannot take some of the pieces apart once they are assembled. For example, the pieces for the planet fit perfectly together and there is no way to separate the pieces afterwards. Therefore the sets are not interchangeable as advertised.

My shipment arrived a few days ago. The parts look really nice, but some of the pieces dont hold very well. The small shuttle, the one with 4 wings...they all just spin freely around the main body; there is no friction to hold the fins in place. Maybe the magnets werent pressed in enough or they were not strong enough. A couple other parts had a similar issue, but not to the degree of that small shuttle. Also, a couple of the boxes were crushed in transit...no damage to the toys, so I didnt care. But I think one of the delays on this project was due to packaging development...maybe I just have a rough mailman...or maybe the packaging designer chose aesthetics over function.

Just got mine. . .what can I say? Absolutely fantastic. The design is incredible, the heft of the wood is just right, the magnets are fun to use, the packaging design and production is top-notch. My son and I have already spent hours playing. These a beautiful examples of toy, industrial design, and objet d'art all in one. You guys should be ridiculously proud. Congratulations, I'm am glad to have been a part of bringing this concept to life. Can't wait to see future editions! May I suggest line of trains? Or even go all steam-punk.

Wow... they just arrived, and the sculptures are quite something when you actually get your hands on them. Everyone who has seen them are just amazed/delighted etc. The wood, the paints, the magnets, everything to do with the design and finish is beyond expectation.

Just wanted to let you know that I received my reward and it surpasses my expectations by quite a bit. The quality of the wood and the workmanship of the magnets is wonderful. Thank you for your efforts.

Just for clarification, when compounding two or more sets, for example the planet and shuttle, does shipping need to be added for each set? (So the total pledge for the example would be $70, $25 for the planet, $33 for the shuttle, and $12 for shipping)

@Xavier de la Fuente Sure thing! Just add the two pledges together $25 + $33 + shipping. We'll send a survey in the end to confirm the models you choose.

@ Bastian Eggers: No at the moment. However that was our design at first. But working with the prototypes made us realize all the pieces together would be too heavy for these two complete models (shuttle and rocket) to stay together. We're still trying different possibilities (magnet size and position) to make it work, but we're really not sure right now.

Hey there! I'm curious: will it be possible to attach the shuttle magnetically to the rocket?
