Dear Ashley, Have you tested this watch? I don’t think you have. I received the Doki watch today in the US (Nov 28, 2016). I followed the instructions to get it working. Two big problems: 1) There is no QR code anywhere to be found and I can’t get the iPhone app to work without this QR code. 2) I have a pre-paid SIM from H2O. I cannot get past the “locating network” screen on the watch. At this moment I’m beyond disappointed with this watch. After emailing the support email contact I get the following reply: Due to the… Read more »

I was thinking about getting one of these but then saw your post. Did you end up resolving the issues?

comment image Hi Dave,
Yes, I did solve the issue. It took about 3 hours to figure out the problem was in the APN since the Doki was not reading it from the SIM card.
I had to program the APN by hand on a tiny keyboard (see picture).
The 3G never worked since Doki only covers 1 band out of 4 bands used in the US.

how do you know how to program the APN? where are instructions for this?

There are no instructions for this. I have an engineering degree and worked for over 15 years in the mobile phone industry.
You can search online for APN codes for your carrier.

I have pre-ordered two Doki Watches on March 2016. Still did not receive them!
Casper Chien and company keep ignoring my emails.
People should be aware apparently, they DON’T think that it is important to fulfill all the orders. Apparently, they think that it’s ok to ignore their customers.

Anyone who is thinking about buying this…. DON’T!! I’ve had the watch for about a month now (after waiting 8 months) and it has been a paper weight. It has connected to the network twice (out of about 10+ times) after I unscrew and take out and put back the SIM card . However, it does not reconnect after the phone dies or needs to be powered down. It just searches and searches until it dies. I’ve sent multiple emails to the company over the past MONTH and have only gotten generic replies. The phone number listed for the company… Read more »

I am super upset about my purchase.
I bought 2 Doki watches for my sons Christmas presents and one of them didn’t work.
We sent them back and the watch came back “fixed” on 22 February
The “fixed” watch does not read the SIM card, the same SIM cart that his brothers watch does read.

Oh no. That’s bad news Ileana. Have you had a word with the seller yet? After you got them the second time?

The watch I was sent never worked. Doki promised a refund on January 20, last communication with them was March 7, still no refund. Here it is May 2 and still no refund or replies from Doki. Last message was they were having difficulty doing the refund through PayPal. Very dissapointed.

I’m extremely disappointed with the Doki watch which I bought for my son. It often struggles to connect to the network for hours in order to track him, and has on one occasion placed him in entirely the wrong location. I have tried to contact the company about it twice but have had no response.

h! just got the watch for my 8yr old. he loves it!
disclaimer: i’m in Hong Kong where the company is based so the customer service has been great & they delivered it to my door. the cellular system is different here so for what it’s worth we had no problems setting up & we love the watch!

I bought the watch after reading on their website that it was compatible wit ATT. After two weeks and multiple visits to ATT/contact with Doki, it apparently is not compatible with ATT due to changes in ATT’s network. I cannot get a refund and they recommend buying a pay as you go plan from ting
