Podbudy Anti-Slip Earphone Hooks
Hi @Lea, @Dan, @Jim, @Davide, @Sabrina I completely understand and identify with all the sentiments expressed. At this point, I ask for your patience as we still have to tie up lose ends (for instance internal re-arrangement of partners exit and buybacks, sourcing of additional funds, external re-sourcing in manufacturers and so forth) to provide you with a structured update, one that is as thorough as possible, including offering you a legal contract that is being drawn up (for which for instance partners interests buy-back had to be first completed, and to be executed before I seek and onboard new partners), so that it becomes a contractual obligation (for anyone coming in), going beyond assurances and a personal commitment expressed on a project update, entitling backers to a refund (with interest) if the product is not shipped to you within a certain cut off date (which is to be worked out as it comes with a financial penalty for us in refund and paying interest for the duration). The delay is out of the complexity of the situation at the back end with a lot of variables at play, apart from the external circumstances previously discussed. If I was able to handle this simpler, I would have come forward to refund you first up and then clean up, but that's not immediately achievable and so has to be penciled in and worked on within the new structure and setup. However, apart from completely agreeing with you, I also take @Jim's suggestion and will staff up and get one of our earlier team members Martha or Brianna back, tasked with the sole responsibility of managing the updates. We'll also have a Whatsapp Group created to offer more immediate informal updates now and then for those who don't mind joining. I'm also keen on inviting any of you who can spare a little of your time to come onboard and be a colloborator on the project (with no liability or execution responsibility), but as a representative of backers within the internal team, making it's workings transparent to you. Please bear with me a little longer. Many thanks.- S.P.
@Dan S, I couldn't have said it better. I am beyond disappointed. This is a product idea that I truly believed in - so much so that I was looking forward to giving it to my nieces and nephews for Christmas. Yes, I believed in the product so much that I ordered multiple sets. I don't want empty promises. Honesty and integrity do not cost a lot but their value is immeasurable.
Well, it's now been 18 days since the last update when we were promised a weekly update. And it's been 9 days since you said update "coming tonight". I gave you benefit of the doubt, given your heartfelt message of 18 days ago. I gave more benefit of the doubt thinking maybe you just needed to get to the weekend in order to have 5 minutes to tell us all something because you were too busy during the week. Unfortunately, now our trust level is even lower than it was before. It's not just zero, it's negative, because after your mea culpa 18 days ago and the lack of followup, we really aren't inclined to trust what you tell us next. That's quite unfortunate. My purpose here is not to slam you, but to tell you how I (and probably many of us) feel, as your backers. 5 minutes. That's all we're asking for. We feel betrayed.
Shiva, I've spent decades in corporate sales. A front-man for a product or service only has his or her honesty to live on. It's something you provide to people so they know they can depend on your responses to delays or quality issues. Up to this point it very much appears like your responses are just posted in an attempt to not have to answer real questions. You admit your failure to communicate, provide what appears to be reasonable information to explain the multiple delays, then fall back into the same pattern. Personally I think you should pass on the reigns of communication to someone who will take that responsibility and own it. Clearly, it's not a high priority for you, or you aren't able to just admit the delays are longer than you're telling us. Someone else might take the job seriously and proactively send out updates. This is respectful and considerate as I can be.
It is now a full 15 days, more than 2 weeks, since your commitment to a weekly update. It is a full 6 days since you even said "tonight". Our collective benefit of the doubt that you regained with your good faith update 15 days ago is now depleted. If you will not be updating us today, please explain why and give a firm commitment to which you are accountable for when we should expect to receive the next update. Otherwise, we can only assume there will be no more updates, and I think all of us would hate for that to be the case. We'll work with you - but we expect you to work with us in return.
Back to unprofessional attitudes i see... Well: one error is to understand, two errors are to improve, three errors are just too much. We are in the sector two, just before the sector three. Waiting for answer.
On June 7th you promised weekly updates. For the record, we are not expecting epic novels, just a line or two to let us know what's the latest.
Beating the almost dead horse, quietly but persistently. It's now been 13 days since your commitment for a weekly update, and 4 full days since you said "tonight". If it's bad news, tell us the bad news.
Thanks, Shiva. Except that it's now been 11 days since your commitment for a weekly update, and 2 full days since you said "tonight". Patient, but keeping it real.
Hello! I wanted to tell you guys that I have moved. How do I change the address for delivery?
Hi Dan and Davide, thanks for your messages. Yes coming up later tonight. Thanks.
It’s been 9 days since the commitment to a weekly update. I am assuming this week’s update is coming very soon. Looking forward to it.
Hi thanks for the update! There are in any way some news about the project?
@Jim @Dan @Lea @Robert Thanks to each of you for your kind responses and understanding. You guys are awesome! @Yogendra haha yes true, we aren't building a space ship, will rectify the situation. Thanks again everyone for the support.
I appreciate the honest assessment of your project. I wish you well in correcting all your issues. Excellent comment Dan S.
@Dan S, I couldn't have said it any better.
Shiva, thank you for your honest and personal update. I appreciate it and I am sure most, if not all of your backers do as well. I wish you well in dealing with your non-Podbudy personal issues that you have to face, and we'll stay tuned for your upcoming regular updates. Your continued commitment and passion for the project gives me hope that your fortitude and creativity will find solutions to your manufacturing and partner issues. We will stay tuned, anxiously, for your next update.
Finally, an honest update. 30 years in Corporate sales among other things, taught me that honesty is the most dangerous and most rewarding conversation to have with your client. You either lose them, because you really never had them, or you own them when the conversation is over. I'm going to wait for your mfg. Issues to get solved. Thanks for the update. Jim Bathie
I am surprised that a simple little plastic device like this is taking so long to produce. We are notlding a pace ship
Dear Lea, Dan, Jim, Davide, Mark - thanks for your thoughts, and we fully agree our failure to communicate promptly was unacceptable. We just sent out an update explaining the circumstances, and we really appreciate your tempered remarks and show of faith and support in giving us a fair shake even as we failed to respond promptly. Thank you.
@Dan S, I couldn't agree more. I chose to back this product because it seems like a great idea and I want the creators to succeed. By backing to the project we have essentially entered into a contract will them, therefore they owe us a duty of care to keep us informed. We all can appreciate that there may be delays or unforeseen challenges, but the last they can do is stay in contact.
I share your concern, the deafening silence is disturbing after having missed earlier milestones and not lived up to expectations set just 2 weeks ago. That being said, we need to realize that we didn't place orders. We made a pledge to back a company and a project, and we have a reward if they are successful. That's different than buying a product. I don't know why i am defending them since the lack of communication is inexcusable, but let's make sure we continue to be reasonable and have the right expectations. ComfortTech, all I ask is that you let us know where you are in the process, what went wrong now, and what the next steps and new expectations are for all of us who have given you money and are anxiously waiting.
Given the lack of communication, I'm beginning to feel sceptical that we'll ever see our orders. Please prove me wrong.
And now it's been another week since I asked what I thought were reasonable questions, demonstrating respect. Patience is now wearing thinner. It's been more than 6 weeks since your last update and 2 weeks since you said "more information tomorrow evening". We know you are busy and hard at work, but please engage with us so we remain strong supporters even as you experience multiple delays.
I really appreciate the kindness of Dan S, but this is starting to be unprofessional and unacceptable. What is the situation? When the product will be shipped? We need date and info.
Like what Jim Bathie said below, you would have a much higher backer satisfaction if you more frequently sent out updates. Your last update was on April 20, more than 5 weeks ago. In that update you said " ship out by end of next month, May 2018 if the manual correction works, or by early June 2018 if the slider needs to be re-tooled again". Since the end of May is in 2 days and we have not yet received the survey, I infer that means you won't make that date. Please let us know how the manual correction went, and when in early June you now anticipate shipping since that was the later of the 2 dates you gave when you last spoke to us. It is frustrating that 6 days ago, you said you would "provide more information tomorrow evening". Once again, we all recognize that delays can happen and unexpected things pop up. We want to understand that though, and we appreciate hearing your insights along the way. We backed you, we stand by you, we are just anxious and would like some additional visibility into progress as we wait patiently.
I appreciate the delays and issues you've had with re-tooling and resourcing, but I think it would be significantly better if you pro-acted with updates versus reacting to comments. Why not post an update every single Friday or Monday. Then people need only read through the comments to get up-to-date information.
Sorry is everything ok?
So are we looking at delivery in June? July?
Hi Davide, we should be posting an update tomorrow. Shipping tracking shows the sample package has reached NJ Distribution Center currently. We will be able to provide more information tomorrow evening. Thanks.
Hi, any update?
Hi John and Álvaro, thanks for the follow up and your interest and participation! The manual correction / adjustment did not work too well, and after inspecting samples from that round, the slider retooling has been proceeded with. We are expecting to receive the sample next week, will update soon when we are able to inspect the same. I understand it appears like a quiet weeks have passed at the outset, but it's been a dizzy blur for us: the nature of these works in such it involves a lot of back and forth, and in this case it involved employing another outside vendor by the manufacturer, so managing information and workflow between the various entities, as also shipping of physical samples from one to the other for each round, apart from the negotiation on revised costs, and transfer, and then getting them to prioritize it over successive schedules on their pipeline, we have had a continuous stream of activities, and small everyday challenges along the way. More soon!
Hi, Do we have any news on the product? It's been almost a month since the last update...
@creator, how did the retooling go?
Hi Dan, Thanks for your message. We were just working on posting an update detailing the same, and we understand your concern, and appreciate you reaching out. We have indeed faced some setbacks on the tooling output, the sample we received had some inconsistencies with the design, and we are working on resolving the same with the manufacturer. We are still waiting on some information / confirmation, and you will have the more detailed update later tonight or in the morning. Rest assured, we are on it, and we are fully committed to delivering Podbudy to our beloved backers. Thank you!
Hi Comfortech. Your original timeline anticipated an April, 2018 delivery. Since it is now April 16, and end of April is only 2 weeks away, can you give us, your faithful backers, an update on where you are in the process? If you're on schedule, we'd like to know! If you are behind schedule, we'd still like to know as early as possible what your revised schedule is and what challenges you faced that were not expected. Thank you.
Hi John, we are working on setting it up. We'll have the survey sent out, and post an update to let everyone know. Thanks!
@creator have the surveys gone out?
Hi Alvaro, we will be sending it out this coming Mon :) Thanks too!
Hi! When can we expect the Backerkit survey to choose colours? Thanks!
Hi Mark, yes tooling is on progress. We hit a couple of snaps, but we have worked around it. We should ship out by April end. Happy Easter!
Wanted to check to see if the delivery date of next month is still on target. Thanks, mark
Hi Lea, thanks for your support. Yes you will certainly be able to select multiple colors on the final survey through Backerkit :)
For those of us that will be receiving multiple Podbudies, it would be awesome if we could select multiple colours so that each person I gift them to will have their own unique colour.
Thanks so much! :)
Just wanted to say I love your guys' product. Super simple and easy to use. Best of luck for the future!

Hi Chris, Thanks for taking the time to participate! The unofficial mid-campaign survey accepting responses now is only to indicate the color you plan to choose, to help us gauge the overall numbers for each color. Also to see what color might get designated as the "Classic" by backers. Your color choice submitted there is NOT final, as stated on the survey page. You can always change your color choice on the OFFICIAL fulfillment survey, where you will also submit your shipping information. I hope that clarifies. Once again, thanks for taking the time to participate and update your preference. Thank you!
So I got these for my girlfriend and took the survey for colors. I selected a color that she did not like. I have since gone and submitted the survey for the correct color. She would like to have the Ruby color. Will the Ruby color ship or the previous selection?
Hi Katia, excellent question. No prob at all using Podbudy with glasses! Infact I use them everyday with mine. Here's me wearing Podbudy with glasses :) http://podbudy.us/withglasses As you can see from the snap, Podbudy clings very close to your ears, so the glasses tend to go over them, and there's hardly any inconvenience or obstruction, and you wouldn't notice any difference in wearing your glasses with your Podbudy on. Neither does wearing glasses impact the grip on Podbudy.
How well do these sit when I'm wearing glasses? Under, over the earpieces?
