@Jeff Great KS project with good communication, not at all tacky. Glad I stuck with it, and happy the project didn't fall apart. I too wanted to become a polymer scientist, but I feared the work would be too repetitive. Now I just hope I can get a grip and hold it together until my #MonkeyGrip arrives in the post. #Monkeyfistbump #Congratulations

@Miguel the card charging problems are a Kickstarter issue, shoot an email thru to them. This isn’t the first campaign I’ve seen in the last month or so that’s having big problems collecting and processing payments. Kickstarter really needs to sort out why backer pledges aren’t going thru like they should.

Jeff, do you have a problem with your computer? Haven't read my previous massage? I do have a question, why my payment is rejected when I have ENOUGH FUNDS to back it up?

Hey, Mirko! I can assure you that nothing has changed since you last asked about this. We have everything in place that should result in easy, stress free and EU friendly postage systems for all our EU backers. And we will continue to look into this to make sure we have not missed any regulations or import laws. Thank You

Hey, Cristina Valiani ! Thank you for the kind words! It means a lot to hear that and see your support. Thank you. Monkey Grip is recyclable, in certain countries. You will need to check you local recycling guidelines in relation to plastics and silicones. For being compatible with skin, no. Monkey Grip is fully non-toxic and 100% safe, but it will not work too well on skin as there are a lot of oils and residues on human skin, as well asa hairs, that will prevent Monkey Grip from making a strong bond with the skin. If you have more questions about this or have an idea for a particular use, please contact us directly via email of Kickstarter message. Thank You

When previously asked, you said you guys were working with your fulfillment partners to make sure the shipping would be EU-friendly. Since the campaign is approaching its end and soon we will be charged, can you at last confirm the shipping won't come with extra taxes for European supporters?
Thanks

Hey, Dave Light! Thank you for mentioning this, we have completely over looked this until now! Sorry for any confusion. This has been addressed now. However throughout the campaign we have had banners on the page stating that there is only Free shipping on the Early Bird pledges and capped $5 postage on all pledges up to 4 rolls. This has been the case for the entire campaign, it seems only the pledge info graphic was incorrect. So we hope backers have not been too confused by this. Sorry for any confusion caused. Thank You

You have a big error in the powerpoint on the bottom. You say in the blue section that $17USD is free shipping then when we go to check out we are charged shipping. Same appears to be for the more expensive options
Better check on that before it goes pear shaped on you

Hey Christopher Garby! Yes, exactly that is almost the same, but we are trying to make the 'clasp' a little better on ours, so it can stand the test of time (lots of opens and closes). You're 100% right. Our vision is to have Monkey Grip sold in these cases on a bandolier style retail setup in places around the world like Lowes, Walmart, Bunnings, Home Depot, B & Q, Kmart, Target etc. Thank you for your feedback and input on this! Thanks, Jeff

yeah i get what you mean with the mouth guard type case. i painted a room in my house and the green painters tape had the same type case. i get that it is a bit of overkill for a product like the painters tape where it is one use and done. however, in a case where this product can be used over and over, it may be something to consider as it will (maybe subconsciously) re enforce the long term endurance of the product. definitely do not worry about it for this run, but in retail i would recommend it from a consumer perspective.

Hey Christopher Garby! Great question! We currently have two options for packaging we plan to begin with, both are re-useable bags. So this will help to keep your Monkey Grip dust free when not in use. We are also exploring a small plastic case, i suppose the best way to describe it is a Monkey Grip sized mouth guard case, which will provide a reusable lifetime storage solution. This will likely be a future add on or inclusion with Monkey Grip. Thank You

Hey R! Great to hear your daughter and you will have fun with Monkey Grip! It is very versatile and has unlimited uses! As long as those who hang pictures do so within our weight limits, there should be no issues at all! A large picture frame with glass that weighs more than 1KG is not recommended to hang with only Monkey Grip! But, if you have a picture or frame that weighs less than 1KG, and the wall surface is smooth and clean, it will stay stuck until you remove it! Thank You

My 6y.o creative daughter will have a lot of fun with this one. I expect myself to also find various household/vehicle uses for it. I do have to say this: it takes some serious b@llz to tell people to go hang pictures with this thing. Like, you are 1000% sure it won't slowly weaken TO THE POINT OF FAILURE in a month..or a year? I *may* trust it for hanging a tablet or security cam... lol

Hello Felix Trotter Pando ! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have are continuing to work very hard on protecting Monkey Grip's IP in regards to Design, Material and Manufacturing. I have forwarded this over to our legal team to further investigate it. So thank you! However, upon looking over this product myself, i can identify that it is a re-purposed version of Automotive Construction Tape that is being sold direct to consumer. This is used in the manufacturing of vehicles, in particular attaching non structural interior panels and mounting non structural dash board parts. It is also used to mount badges and in some cases spoilers on cars too. It is very strong and in no way removable or reusable. Automotive Construction Tape is vastly different to Money Grip in that it is not reusable, it is made of different material, it is a different size, length, thickness and width and most of all has a completely different intended use. If used at home, this Automotive Construction Tape will no doubt hold almost anything to almost any surface, it is very strong, but if you ever try to remove it, it will not only tear the paint off the wall, it will also take a big chunk of plaster or even wood with it. It is made for automotive construction, so it is meant to stay in place for life! Money Grip is made from nano suction gel pad technology and is designed to be reusable and most of all, not cause any damage to your walls, surfaces or objects when removed, while also holding them strongly in place. Our material and design is a careful balancing act of design variables and chemicals that make this possible. You can remove, wash and reuse Monkey Grip Tape as many times as you want, and it will never lose strength. We designed Monkey Grip Tape with home consumer use in mind and the fundamental concepts are that it is a reusable, washable, non damaging roll of strong, thick cored Nano Gel Pad. Thank You

Hey Jack! Another great question! Monkey Grip will work on almost any surface. As long as the surface is smooth, clean, non porous and void of oils and grease. So in short, any surface that is smooth and clean is perfect! Monkey grip should work fine in environments that have movement and vibration, that is no issue. In regards to using this on curtains or fabric, we do not recommend it. Fabrics are made up on many millions of small fibres. Monkey Grip, as with any tape or adhesive, will have difficulty sticking to fabrics as the surface area is unreliable and itself, removable. It is the same reason why Monkey Grip, as with any adhesive, will fail to work well on porous surfaces, as the particles will stick to the material and not the actual surface, meaning there is no possible way for are secure bond to be achieved. So just make sure you use a smooth clean surface and you will be fine. That includes, painted walls, metal, glass, plastic, smooth concrete, rendered walls, wood surfaces, smooth stone surfaces and much more! Thank You
Jeff

Hey Matthieu Meignan! Great question! Right away, we do not recommend hanging something that heavy without testing the surface of the frame and wall first. However, in ideal circumstances, if you use full strips of Monkey Grip down full length of the two sides of the frame and more along the top and bottom and even some along the inside of the rear of the frame, you should have no issues. But be sure to clean the frame and surface first, to remove and dust, dirt, oils or grease. Then check the wall surface and make sure the paint is in good condition and not deteriorating and becoming porous. In regards to our weight claims, that is based on a strip cut to around 8cm in length. But, using as much Monkey Grip as possible is always recommended as the safest way to ensure nothing goes wrong. This isn't due to any floor in Monkey Grip, but rather the fact that there are many variables that can change how well Monkey Grip will work, such as but not limited to, condition of the wall surface and paint, what oils are used on any surface, how humid the surface is, if the Monkey Grip is clean, if the surface is clean and much more. In regards to how long it will retain it's stickiness, in most conditions and if common sense is used, it should stay put until removed. Hope that helps to answer your question! If you need any more info or details feel free to let me know! Always happy to help! Thank You

All of the following questions are to attach a pen vertically Are there restrictions on wall materials?
Only things like glass and acrylic? Even on a rough side like wood?
For example, can you attach a pen to the curtain?
Do you want to attach a pen to the machine where vibration occurs, but is it resistant to vibration?

I intend to use it to hand frames on a smooth wall, but I have a few concerns. Let’s say I want to hang a 3.5 kg wooden frame (poster included). When you say it “can hold up to 1 kg”, what does that mean? Is it per some unit? For the entire roll? Won’t it lose its stickiness over time?

Hey Marissa! Using Monkey Grip in the shower is not a use we recommend. Like any plastic or silicone product, water or any moisture make the surface area distorted and will prevent any 'bonds' with other materials. Sadly that is just a physical characteristic of this type of material. However, If you have a large shower, and the strip of Monkey Grip will not be in direct contact with water, you may be able to use it for this purpose. As long as you do your best to keep water away from it immediately before use, it should be fine. I should also point out that water is not the enemy, Monkey Grip can be washed and re used infinitely, but will need to be left to dry after a wash. So as long as the Monkey Grip is dry and out of direct water flow, it should work fine. Thank You!
Marissa

How would this work if I wanted to use a piece in the shower to hold a razor? Assuming it’s put on cleaned, debris-free tile initially. If the exposed part gets wet, what happens?

Hey Doc Johnson! Great question! Well, providing your brother isn't dirty, and If the wall is smooth and clean and you use about 5 - 10 rolls wrapped around him, it should work fine! .......But we didn't say that.... And of course we do not recommend it!

Hey Ben Hanson! Thank You for your interest in Monkey Grip! Yes, it will work fine! But, just like "Blue Tack" make sure to remove the papers with care so they don't rip! To clean the dust off just use a moist sponge and they will work like new forever. Thank You

Hey Christopher Garby! Currently we are speaking to some people who are wanting to help us bring Monkey Grip into retail in a few nations around the world, which is great! In regards to our retail plans for the US, we will have to continue to research and speak to experts to find the best plan and placement. As it stands we believe a mix of both would be ideal, considering it's multitude of potential uses and applications. If you have any ideas or would like to discuss further, feel free to send us a private message here on Kickstarter! Thanks

Hi. Will I be able to purchase more Monkey Grip Tapes in the future?
Jeff
Review from Kickstarter
Hello Tuan Le! Great question, i assume many people will want to use our Monkey Grip Tape for exactly this. But, i will have to be honest and say that we have not tested it under such circumstances, which is why we have not made any claims or advertised such a use. But, from my knowledge of how our material reacts to heat and certain types of plastics, i would say that in most cases, it would be absolutely fine. My advice though, would be to make sure that you remove any wax / interior car cleaner from the dash surface first and make sure the area is clean and dust free. Then test a small piece of Monkey Grip Tape on an inconspicuous area. If you have a new car, there should be no issues at all in relation to it sticking, remaining sticky and damage. But if it is an older car, there are a lot of aspects that can change how it will react with the dash. Such as previous sun damage, years of wax or cleaner build up, degrading plastic and more. That is why i suggest testing it, before covering your dash with Money Grip and gadgets. Now that this has been mentioned, i will place some on my dash and see how it goes over the next few weeks. It is coming into winter here in Perth, but we are still seeing a fair amount of sun and heat, so the results should be similar for you coming into California summer. Thank You, Jeff
