Helgray Silverstone 60’s Racing Chronograph

A watch inspired by racing chronographs of the 1960’s. At its heart is a hybrid mechanical-quartz movement made in Japan. The 316L surgical-grade stainless steel case, combined with a Sapphire crystal provides incredible durability. The Meca-Quartz movement brings the best of both worlds: the long second hand sweeps smoothly around the dial, the pushers provide mechanical-like feedback, all this in super-convenient grab-and-go package.

Don't buy from this Helgray! Their customer service is bad, really bad! They never respond to any emails! Check the internet for other customer service reviews. There are so many complaints out there, I don't understand why this company is still in business.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Our compliance team will investigate and we'll update the listing accordingly.

Hello - I've sent multiple emails regarding the status of my return (I shipped my watch back to you - in mid-March), but have yet to receive shipping notification of my replacement, or the replacement itself. Can you please respond to my emails and support ticket?
Helgray Watches
If there is any outstanding issue, don't hesitate to contact me at Since the campaign ended a long time ago and that all watches have been shipped and delivered, I won't be monitoring the comments here as often. Email is the best way to get you sorted out quickly! @Kyle, sorry, the situation is a little complicated because of the international shipment and your request to re-ship with a different carrier (with which we are not setup). I replied to your email to find a solution. @Kenneth, if any damage happened during shipping, we're happy to replace it. Just get in touch at
Kyle Lee
Hi Nadim, I have sent you numerous emails in the past week but have yet to receive a response. Having backed your Helgray Silverstone in Kickstarter, my funds have been with you since February. You acknowledged that my watch was lost in shipping by your shipper and have promised to ship a replacement watch since early September but have yet to do so. My latest request for a refund if the shipment is not done asap has also been ignored. Can you please respond urgently. I understand you have another Kickstarter campaign ongoing but not responding to customers who have backed you previously and delivering on paid for goods is quite irresponsible.
Kenneth Liu
I got mine 3 weeks ago, bought two, one had one of its needle came off as soon as I opened it. Leather case is cheap as.
Helgray Watches
@John-Paul, your tracking number shows the watch as delivered. Let me know if there is any issue so I can open a claim with Canada Post if necessary.
John-Paul Sawyer
@Creator...I would like to enjoy my watch but i don't have it yet!.......or a response from you. I sent you a message on here and to your support email over a week ago and I've heard nothing.
Helgray Watches
I hope you're all enjoying your new watches! I'm definitely enjoying seeing all the #helgray pictures posted on Instagram! All emails and messages were replied to as of yesterday. If you've not received a reply, check your spam folder or your Kickstarter inbox. Otherwise, you can email me again: or message me here on Kickstarter! We're now back to normal turn-around time!

I am waiting on a response for my open support case. #480472

NAD.....can you at least acknowledge my messages please, it's been a week since I emailed you about my watch being stuck at the delivery depot awaiting confirmation of address. I've tried contacting Canada post but I can't do anything on my end. Can you let me know what's going on....this is getting frustrating!!
Brian Callan
@snedden raj, plenty of tutorials on youtube and google on how to change watch straps and bracelets

If anyone in Melbourne wants to buy this watch, shoot me a message.
It should arrive today. I was gifted a watch whilst waiting for this one...
(Can't wait to see it though, it's probably nicer haha)
John-Paul Sawyer
@Creator - According to the tracking information my watch should have been delivered on the 19th but I still don't have it as of the 26th. The tracking says arrived in foreign country, held waiting for confirmation of address.
I emailed your support address on Sunday but I haven't had a response from you, please can you tell me what's going on.
Snedden Raj
Hey Nad !!
Can you give any information or tutorial or link on "How to change the belt with the included tool"?
Thanks !!!
Got the white face model and it's beautiful. Paired it with a black and white zulu strap and it's perfect for now!

I can live with the final product, but the long and short of it is that the case is fatter and colors less vivid than originally advertised. Nadim's products are low price, but quality is definitely hit-and-miss, as is CS. Makara Sea Turtle was very nice, but Octopus was a dud and still waiting on bezel fix. Looks like buying his products is a real gamble.

I got my watch and was pleased just like everybody else. I think it looks great. However, the watch is stopped working and it is been less than a week. I believe it's a quartz movement, so does the battery have an issue? I would really appreciate a reply and a solution.
David T
Really like the watch and appreciate everything Nadim has done! That being said; I am having issues with the date change not changing correctly after two full rotations of hour hand- changes sporadically- anyone else having problems with date change? Sometimes it doesn't line up in the date window either and is off center and stays like that until date change (sporadic).
Richard Ulmer
Got mine. I like it. It is exactly what I was expecting for $229. I'm not sure what others are saying about the differences. It's not a Rolex or Omega but for the price, it's a good watch. All in all, a good KS experience.
Tim Ngo
I am moderately pleased with the watch. Like others, I thought communication was abysmal. I think it's important to keep your crowdfunders in the loop and respond to them. Also, I had a terribly hard time popping the spring bar out to replace the straps.
Bruno Aelbrecht
Don't get the banter. I'm personally very pleased with the watch. The 30€ I had to pay as import tax was a slightly negative surprise, but was to be expected. Got the cover model (panda) and I was even pretty pleasantly surprised with the quality of the leather. Will eventually swap it for something else (race strap probably), but will do for now.
Adam Gandolfi
Got mine a couple days ago. Great kit! What the heck are people complaining about? This WHOLE thing went pretty much exactly how I thought it would! Thanks Nadin. Oh...and people, this is kickstarter project; there should not be any returns if you paid a discounted price. Maybe Nadin will....but you shouldn't expect it.
Can I return mine and change the colour?
I bought a dark brown calfskin strap for my blue one. Check it out: The watch face looks a little washed out from the way the light is shining on it. But I like the look of the dark brown strap a *lot* better than the mustard yellow one that came with it.....I think the darker strap makes the blue watch face pop more.
Shane Healy
Got my watches this morning and really happy with them. Nice weight to the case, the blue is a proper royal blue, not light or dark, black also looks very crisp. I don't see what some people's issues are with design, seems pretty much identical to the photos posted. Looking forward to many years of ware.
Justin van Heesch
I've unfortunately been struggling with the spring bar tool and broke it in the process, meaning I can't change to the leather strap for now. Besides that, very happy with this watch!
I'm with Ross. I'm disappointed in the final product and considering selling my watch if I cannot return. Is it possible to return?
I agree with Tony G. The actual watch has many differences from the advertised photos of the watch, all of which detract from the overall package, in my opinion. What's your return policy Helgray?
Mark Fisher
I went to pick my watch up from the collection depot today and what can I say, I love it! it fits like a glove, the bracelet needed no adjustment so may be tight for anyone with over an 8" wrist. here is a link to my imgur photos,
Anders Mårtensson
I haven't received mine yet, but judging from pics people have posted on WUS it looks pretty much the way it looks in the official photos of the prototypes, so "quite a bit different" is a gross exaggeration IMHO.
Tony G
Nadin, is there any explanation as to why the watch is quite a bit different than the prototype? A simple comparison of the production vs proto profile picture is quite telling. The lug curvature (angle?), the case height, and pusher sizes are noticeably "different" than advertised. I'm a 7" wrist and I don't see it being comfortable, given the lugs, for anyone much larger. I don't recall any communication re: the changes from proto to production, so maybe I missed it? Thanks.
According to Canada post mine has arrived in GBLALA wherever that may be.

I can't get over the attitude that some people are displaying in their comments and some of the vitriol. I think people need to try a little harder to understand what Kickstarter is about.
This is not an online shop. It is a funding website to fund production of goods, software, books....all sorts of things.
There are no guarantees on timeframes, there are only projections.
Do none of you people have jobs? Projects and project plans are common in almost every industry nowadays, and it should be understood that delays are part and parcel of any project, even the best run ones.
People need to get over themselves and get some perspective.
It's a watch, nobodies died, the world will not end. Jesus H! First world problems.
Sometimes I despair for the future of the human race when I see such petty moaning over something inconsequential. Yes, communication might have been better. I feel Nadim is possibly taking on far too much with all his brands, and not employing enough assistance with monotonous time consuming tasks. I'm sure it's something he will work on and improve We'll all get our watches, and everyone will be happy. Even if there's a problem it will get sorted. Build a bridge people

Hi Nadim, I received the green dial last Thursday & have just resized the bracelet tonight. Great watch for the money. I have 2 questions; 1) Is it possible to exchange the brown strap for a black one, I'm also from Montreal so I can drop by your office at your convenience. The light brown color looks terrible on me. 2) I did not receive any warranty papers or user guide (not that I really need it).
Antron MC
Just received my watch today and I'm impressed with the quality, the fine details, and the option to sport the leather or stainless steel bracelet. Can't wait to wear it to work tomorrow and feel like a Boss. Thanks for the creation of this project and I'm looking forward to many more!

I was one of the people who only got their shipping info on Friday and the Canada Post confirmation Monday that my watches are on their way. I'll get them later than other people on here but that's fine and I'm really looking forward to getting them. Nadim makes a great product across his brands. There does seem to be; however, a real 'Us' and 'Them' thing going on among the backers on this forum. Calling people crybabies (or similar) because they are anxious about time frames is patronising and being a jerk. On the other hand getting super worked up and angry about delays or lack of info isn't cool either. As someone said Kickstarter isn't Amazon. Could there have been better communication during the process? Maybe, and that's something to work on in the next project (Hornet hopefully). There needs to be a level of respect to everyone on here. We are watch enthusiasts and we're here because we saw something unusual and exciting in the Silverstone design. This isn't the BTL comments on YouTube. So let's all gather round the Helgray camp fire and belt out a few choruses of something rousing "kumbaya my lord..." Anyone? No? I'll get me coat.....
Now that I have been wearing my watch for a few days, there is something that I have noticed. (I have the blue version). When glancing at the watch face I often find it hard to pick out the dial hands. For some reason the white dial hands seem to get lost on the watchface.....I think the 2 silver chronograph dials are somewhat washing out the white dial hands. If the watch hands had been painted orange like the chronograph seconds hand they would stand out much clearer. I find myself staring at the watch a second or 2 longer in order to pick out the time. -Just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

I backed the NFC ring a few years ago, there was set back after set back, more problems with manufacture and qc than you can shake a wobbly stick at. in the end I think it ran over schedule by about a year! yes we complained a little but at the end of the day KS is not like a shop, there is no solid guarantees, we are lucky as some projects I'm sure fail! a few weeks or months over run isn't bad in the scheme of things! p.s. I'm in the UK so have to wait a lot longer than you guys over in the states! ;)
Hi Nadim, haven't received a shipping email. I did ask for DHL shipping and paid the extra for that. Have sent two emails to you and would appreciate some feedback.
Not sure I've ever seen so many people throw their toys out of the pram over so little! Agree that the communication on this one has been far from perfect, but what is evident is that people are receiving their watches and that all that is required is a little patience....
Nelson Reed
What a bunch of whiny cry babies. I got my watch on Saturday. Love it and can't wait to get the next one.
This was my first Kickstarter experience, so I didn't know what to expect. All of the comments saying that delays are common kept me thinking that everything was alright, while others expressed the frustration that I felt. I hope things go a little bit smoother with the Stuckx Bullhead Chrono.
Scott Silbermann
@Edward - Probably like you, I would have preferred if the 3 o'clock sub-dial was a chronograph hour counter instead of a pointless running 24 hour counter. But that's how Seiko designed it, and since I liked the watch so much, it was no impediment for me ordering the watch. It looks great and I virtually never actually use the chrono function. Hopefully, will be good for you too.

I don't understand the "this project is better than average kickstarter project" apologists. There's nothing wrong with expecting regular flow of information, or a mea-culpa when it's appropriate. Just because others are poor business men/women, does not mean that we should just accept it for what it is. Change doesn't happen without feedback.

Just received a shipping update from Canada Post that the item was received today by Canada Post, after the shipping labe lwas created last Friday. Nadim, you were less than honest when you posted on Friday that shipping was completed. Clearly you didn't finish shipping all the watches until today. After all the delays, why lie about an extra 3 days to get all the watches out? I was disappointed but understanding about the delays. Not so much with the deception over the completion of shipping.
@david I was kind of feeling like I would get it delivered today while my tracking said they didn't have it. That would be a nice little surprise actually. The day isn't over yet, so fingers crossed I guess.
@bill I'm guessing that Canada Post is similar to USPS. We'll be lucky to get an update before it's delivered. Mine is still "waiting to be picked up" as well.
Nadim, are you completely incapable of apologising for the lack of info throughout this project. Of course I understand the time difference, it's still being dispatched 3 w/days later than it should be. If you don't think you should of issued an update last Wednesday informing us that it was taking longer than expected then you are beyond help.
@nadim When I check my tracking number it still says that the item hasn't arrived at their (Canada post) facility for shipping yet. Are there still some that you haven't sent out yet?
Thomas Crowder
@Nadim , first I'm sorry for letting my frustration out. Second, I only started to get upset after this was delayed so long. I built in a 4-5 week timeline in my head. This was a gift and I am now going on vacation and the time has passed and I feel dumb giving someone an I bought you something but it's not here yet note. My fault not yours.
