The best bulb ever. Thank you very much! It still works and looks good. I am trying to find some bulbs with similar quality in local market, but there is no bulb like this in my country. It is sad that it is too expensive to order a bulb on your site.

Thanks for the post Aaron, we actually updated our Android and iOS apps recently with multiple bug fixes and performance improvements. Updates coming soon!

Well, you guys had at least 6 months to update the app (which you didn't do) and you don't even post updates; that's pretty crappy communication honestly. At this rate I'm just going to replace your product with a brand that actually works.

Are there any planned app updates? THe current app is pretty basic and it would be nice to be able to have more features. Here are some that I would like to see:
Presets automatically turn on at different times depending on the day.
More lighting presets.
Better music syncing. The current one where it just flashes random colors is very lame.
Ability to have the light fade off instead of turn off suddenly.

@Sara: Glad you really like your Up Light and thanks for the feedback! To answer your questions, we're guessing the three settings you're referring to are the Low/Med/High buttons? Think of those as Presets that you can customize, sort of like you would on your radio. For example, let's say you like setting your Up Light to pink a lot - simply set it to pink, then hold down one of those buttons until you get a pop-up. On the pop up, you can rename it to "Pink" and hit save. From here on out, to turn your light pink, you can just press that "Pink" button! Using presets do not shut off the alarms you just set. Re: Timing options - yes, it's in the works! In the meantime, you can set the alarm for the morning (you would still need to manually turn it off for now) and you can use the timer for the evening. Hope that helps and please keep the feedback coming!

I've been using the UpLight for quite some time now and I really like it. But, the app really does need some more attention to make it a great product. It is kind of confusing... are there three settings that I just set up or are these defaults? If I pick this one does it shut off the alarm I just set? and there needs to b more timing options. I'd like to set it to go on and off twice a day. Once in the morning to wake and turn off an hour after and then in the evening, on time/off time

@Vidya: One quick follow up - from your description, it sounds like the timer may have been accidentally set? The alarm will gradually turn the light on based on the settings - so if it's sudden, it's probably not the alarm. You can also control how gradual the wake up alarm turns the light on in the settings simply by adjusting the duration (how long it takes to get to full brightness) and the style - how fast it ramps up - fast means it will spend more time near full brightness, and slow means it's very gradual in the beginning and only gets brighter near your wake up time. You can also control the maximum brightness. We hope that helps, but again, please shoot us a message with details so we can assess if it's a bug in the software and get it resolved immediately.

Hi guys! I came back from my vacation and got my Up Lights the next day! I've been using them for about a week now. I particularly love the rest and sleep modes, but my fiance and I are having problems with the alarm in the morning. It seems no matter what time we set the alarm for, we get blinding white light at 6am (the original default setting of the alarm). Today we got it twice, at 6am and 9am (which is when I actually set the alarm for). The fact that the 6am light continues to turn on is kind of irritating, as it seems it should go away once the 9am alarm has been set. It also seems very sudden compared to the sleep mode, which is how I'd prefer it working (as it is, it's nearly as shocking as a traditional alarm). (Unfortunately, my original plan to use them in the lamps next to the bed doesn't work, as the lampshade holder is just a tiny bit too small (and conforms to the traditional round bulb shape) for the Up Light to fit. I also notice that when I've left the room and come back, it seems the app doesn't automatically connect to the entire group I've set up. I have to turn them all on and off by swiping first, and then I'm able to control the group as a whole again. One more piece of feedback on the app - I understand that the lights dimming in sleep mode is supposed to be slow and gradual, but as I mentioned earlier, the app sometimes connects to only a one or two of the group of three lights. This has sometimes left me wondering whether all the lights (or any of them) are actually in sleep mode. I would appreciate there being some kind of indicator on the app saying that the lights are in sleep mode, rest mode, % brightness or something, so that I can see that yes, these bulbs are actually doing what I want them to do.

The up light app really doesn't work at all. It's very disappointing having to wait extra months to get a product that is not even 100% complete. I can turn it on and off (with about 1 min delays) but I can't even press the bulb to bring up the options/alarms. I managed to pull it up once, but the light didn't turn on when I set the alarm anyway so it's really just a glorified light bulb.

@Tyler: Thank you for your patience - we're actually in the process of releasing an app update that should address the connectivity issues on iOS. Since the issue seems to only be happening in limited instances, it's taken us a little longer to figure out what's going on. Thanks to your feedback and the amazing community here, it has helped us tremendously. thank you again for your support and we can't wait to help you #WakeUpHappy.

I'm starting to get disheartened by this product. I was very excited as I'm a night owl who has been forced into an early bird role, so I was hoping this would help me get out of bed in the morning. And while I must say, the uplight team has been nothing but gracious and professional in their work... I'm losing faith that this product will work. After numerous support emails back and forth, and a new set of bulbs, I'm still suffering the same lack of connectivity problems I've been suffering from day one... Now that the days are getting shorter and the sun is coming up later, I'm afraid that I will have to try to find a competitor to Uplight to be able to find a product that works. I'm hoping they will be able to fix the issues in short order... But a functional product was promised in December of 15... I'm just getting tired of waking up tired...

The lamp works well with the native app but I'm having trouble connecting it with the HomeKit. Don't think this have anything to do with the lamp but rather with the HomeKit apps that are asking me to connect all my devices to iCloud Keychain.
I naturally want to comply but am having difficulties gaining access to my lost phone.
I'll have to work something out...

Hi backers, I have installed the apps by my iPad, the apps could detect the bulb, but could not connect and control the bulb.
But nil problem for the control by android OS.
My iOS is 9.3.4, iPad Air 2 and Samsung Note2, 4.4.2. Anyone encounter the same situation as I did?

As others have said, day specific wake up times would be a great addition. As much as I like waking up at 6 for work, on the weekends, no so much. Also, I have a wakeup light on my side of the bed, and my wife has one on her side of the bed - is there a way for both phones to control both lights? We are having issues where both lights connect to one phone, and then the other phone can't find it.

I got my light. It is working perfectly with my HTC M9. I can dim it, turn it on and off, change the colors. Kind of a neat light. Music/party mode is funny to play with. Thanks. Question/request. For the wake up settings, I can set the time for it to turn on and wake me up. And that works. But I don't see a way to only pick some days of the week. I would love to be able to have it wake me up at say 6am Monday through Friday, but not until 9am on Saturday and Sunday (or maybe even turn it off completely on the weekends). The light will turn on everyday at the same time. I was thinking since it talks to the phone, it should be able to be "day aware" for lack of a better term. Is this ever going to be possible with the UpLight? Thank You.

Review from Kickstarter
@Matthew - We've got great news for you, the wake time is actually saved on the light, so you can set it and then turn off your phone! Note - if another user/device sets a new time for that light, it may overwrite your wake time setting.

I received mine earlier this week!! Great Job! Now if I can just get the wife to stop turning off the switch in the morning defeating the purpose ;)
I do have one reservation. I guess I was under the impression (in my mind) that the wake function would be set it and forget it...meaning I didn't have to have the app running on my device...frankly I try to keep my devices out of my bedroom to avoid the flashing, vibrating, etc. at night. Also, if I installed these in my kids rooms, the bluetooth wouldn't reach...is there any future design that will allow you to set it in alarm mode without the need to have a device nearby?
Thanks!
