Bristl Light Therapy Electric Toothbrush

Improve your oral health with the Bristl Light Therapy Electric Toothbrush. Using innovative light therapy technology, Bristl effectively kills bacteria, heals gums and whitens teeth. Featuring patent-pending dual light technology, the electric tooth comes with three light modes. The blue light kills oral bacteria and whitens teeth over time while the red light allows collagen secretion for anti-inflammation and regeneration. It also helps to prevent and treat gingivitis. The red and blue light emit simultaneously to produce a purple light that kills germs, fights cavities and strengthens gum tissues. The Bristl has a built-in two-minute timer, so you know when to stop brushing. Additionally, the rechargeable battery lasts up to three weeks if you brush your teeth three times a day.

I filled out the survey but it wanted me to give you a card number and pay again. Same problem as below. What is that?? Almost 80dollar. Please tell me anything.

Like Matthew, I'm also interested in being able to pay one shipping fee for several brush heads - perhaps in packs of 3 or 4 or 6, if not 12. It would be great to be able to add-on at least 3-4 brush heads with the device. Are you planning to have any "add-on" available? Thank you.

Matthew: Thank you for your question. We will figure out shipping and try to charge you a lot less going forward. We expect the shipping of the bristle heads to be very cheap - they are very light. You are welcome to email david@bristlscience.com and we will try to make a special arrangement for you.

We are a manufacturer of Ultra Sonic , brushless motors, used in Tooth Brushes like yours.
We have developed a new Utrasonic Motor that I think you would be VERY interested in. It offers some distinct advantages over anything that is on the market currently. While I realize the design for this product is fixed, you should evaluate it for future versions of this product. I can send you a few free samples to test. Please contact me at sales@jinlong-machinery.com Regards

Is it possible to have a 12 month supply bundle - unit and 12 x brush? Shipping is a little high, so would prefer to purchase once per year

Hi! This is such a great idea! I would like to see a stand for each brush. And, hmm... guess I don't remember how it charges! I'll go check it out. Thanks!

@Art Jury Thanks for the question. Yes, we have definitely completed studies using toothpaste. The study from The Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science involved subjects that used the toothbrush with toothpaste like normal. The data from that study is summarized on our campaign page, so feel free to check that out. Does that help?

So how does the light work through toothpaste? Did the light studies use toothpaste?

@Daryl Lang That is correct, we have a fulfillment center here in the US. There are no hidden fees or last minute shipping charges. Thanks for the inquiry! Let us know if you have any other questions.

@Bristl Team
I noticed your US shipping costs are lower than international ones. Does that mean you have a fulfillment center in the USA? And would that mean there is no custom fees added to the order upon delivery?
Let me know, thanks...

So you deleted the words "wall mount" and replaced them with "charging block" instead of explaining? Not cool.

Wow. Seriously? I am a housewife in Pennsylvania, USA! Just because nobody else is asking any, I should stop? You don't need to get paranoid about competitors or defensive because I cannot find relevent information on the campaign page. Costs, attachments, charger, and the cited research are all relevent. Instead of accusing me of being someone I know nothing and care nothing about, you could tell the backers why the information was not included from day one. 23 days until the campaign ends, and you have not addressed the wall mount, peroxide and/or meth/tol blue use, or subscription costs. If you cannot or will not answer questions, I begin to doubt you as a company. You have no time to explain why you designed the product with the light going through bristles that will be full of thick light blocking toothpaste. You do seem to have time to alienate someone who is trying to buy an expensive product.

With respect to a question on the safety of the LED lights on the eyes, we went through what is called a "IEC 62471 Photobiological Safety of Lamps and lamp systems" and it was certified that the brush was completely safe.

Mscm& Based on your questions, we do not think that you are a "backer". We do have GREAT answers to all of your questions, and would be happy to address them one by one, very soon. But, based on your questions, you sound like a competitor we know. So, please do not bombard the comment section.

Thank you for answering some of my questions. 5$ plus shipping for 4 little bristle parts. Hmmm. You have not addressed how phototherapy is questionable without an exogenous photosensitizer. Once again, the campaign page mentions an included wall mount. I did not see it pictured. The light will not be effective through foaming white toothpaste, so it will be a two step process? If so, how does it benefit us to have the light going through the bristles? Why did you not post the subscription costs? Directing me to your website is an awkward way to keep us fully informed about the product we are backing. Whole mouth light units specifically instruct the users to not turn on the lights until it is inside the mouth because of potential eye damage. What makes your lights different? I am still concerned about the proprietary heads. You will have us at your mercy for price and availability. Not all kickstarter campaigns become successful long term products. While we may have faith in the unit, depending upon your fate is worrisome.

Dear Sumit Verma and SK. Our intent on International Shipping is not to make money on shipping cost. We are not familiar with all the shipping options for the various countries. We are happy to charge lower prices as we discover cheaper shipping options. We would welcome any suggestions.

We will be selling the brush heads for $20 for 4 units. Please feel free to check out our website www.bristlscience.com for more info on the replacement heads. These are much cheaper than Sonicare's brush heads.

Review from Kickstarter
Dear Mscm& Thank you for your questions. Please allow us to answer them here. Bristl is water resistant, so there is no problem with everyday use and rinsing it with water. However, we do not recommend completely submerging the toothbrush. Toothpaste is necessary when using the Bristl just like any other toothbrush. Bristl aims to add the benefits of light therapy to traditional toothbrushing. As for how loud it is, Bristl’s vibration noise level is comparable to that of other major electric toothbrushes such as Sonicare. We would probably say that Bristl is more quiet. The light that Bristl emits will not harm wounds or burns in the mouth; Bristl uses safe and natural blue and red light, which is different from any UV light which could be harmful. The charging cord (5 pin micro USB) and the charging block for it are included. There will be a video on how to operate the Bristl on our campaign page, including the instructions on how to replace the Brush head. Brush heads will be available to purchase either as a pack of four or through our subscription service.

Review from Kickstarter
If we were to unable to get replacement heads, would the light on the unit be useful after standard brushing? The heads will not be available if your company does not flourish. We will be left holding unusable units. Are there possibly replacement heads available that will fit from other sources?

The JPIS article states this: Conclusions
Adjunctive PT seems to have clinical benefits, but evidence of its antimicrobial effects is not sufficient. Long-term studies are necessary to develop the most effective PT protocol and compare the effectiveness of PT with and without exogenous photosensitizers. I find no reference to the benefits of use with and without exogenous photosensitizers (Meth/toluidine blue) on the campaign page. Why?

Can we have a photo of the wall mount? Does whitening require a peroxide?

I do not see pictures of the replacement heads. How do they attach? How often do you advise replacement? Can you tell me what the heads will cost individually and the cost of the subscription service?
Mscm&
Review from Kickstarter
Is it waterproof or water resistant? Should one use toothpaste with it? How noisy is it? Is the light damaging to eyes? Would the light be hazardous if there were a cut or burn in the mouth? Are there other uses for the light feature such as promoting wound healing? Will a charging cord be included? Standard usb-b or a proprietary connection?

Shipping is too high. You should look into it more.

Review from Kickstarter
International shipping costs are high. The shipping cost needs to be re-considered. You'll lose a lot of potential backers this way. I'm sure you would get more backers if the shipping was more reasonable.
