I was very happy to receive one of these as a gift! However after it's second use, one of the hinges that holds the blade in place broke! No way to fix it. Unfortunately a weak point in the design.

Have been using mine for months. One has a loose clip and I had to wrap some electrical tape around it tightly to continue to use it. That seems to be the only flaw in the unit as designed. Hope he would do a better job with the design. Otherwise i love it - great with cutting up baked goods and toasted stuff into small bite sizes.

For all the many, many folks who threw money away with this project, (including myself) & never received anything: I am organizing an international mail fraud complaint. I can add any other victims to the complaint, if interested, please email me at sharkkb8 at AOL dot com. Kickstarter responded to me with several notices of sympathy but they are sticking with their policy of noninterference, as is their right. However, with any luck, I can make this loud and noisy enough for either Kickstarter or this fraudulent merchant to refund our money, plus damages I haven't yet decided upon.
I haven't received my Bolo, Please contact me as soon as possible.

If I don't receive a response I'm going to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint, this is unfair, I took the leap of faith in backing your product to lease you can do is answer me as to why have yet to receive it.

Jennifer we will replace it for you and as I have said a few times, we are already changing the tooling to remedy this, we will replace every single unit that is damaged - we produced 100,000 units and so far have had 7 issues - this is brand new product that was very hard to engineer, the issue comes from the injection process, which we have fixed and are now waiting for final samples of the revised unit - again, every single one that is damaged will be replaced - we are doing our best and we are standing behind the product. Agree with Philip. I bought one for myself and another for mum. My mum's locking tab broke on trying to open the locking tab! Gone! Only reason mine hasn't broken is because I haven't used it yet.
We have now used the bolo for cooking dinner, it worked awesomely with the vegetables and for dicing the chicken! Cheers!
Received my bolo safe and sound! Once it was mailed out it arrived promptly! The package was intact and the package for the bolo was nice. We have already washed our bolo and are ready to use it. The directions are very clear, making cleaning and storage a zilch. So far I'm pleased.

The entire Bolo handle should be solid plastic instead of honeycomb design. Because these pockets traps moisture and traps food carried into the handle by the rolling blade. Must wash it with brushes and air dry the blade and handle separately before reassembling. I already broke "Locking Tabs" on both Bolo. It's nice to use but a chore to wash up after using.

Hi everyone, we are aware of the issue with the clips. Being a brand new item there are always things that need to be improved and we already have fixed the tooling - we are going to change anyone whose clips may break don't you worry we stand behind our product. We are already working on some new parts and accessories and will also make a special offer to everyone once they are all done.

Read the easy to follow instructions on how to change blades. Everything Bolo is built to last ... EXCEPT ... The "Locking Tabs" is weakly joined to the casing, will not last and will most likely break after a few washes. Hmmmm

I just received my 2 x Bolo Blades with 1 x Tenderise Blade. So dar so good nothing broken on 1st glance. Will try using it and hope mine is from 2nd production run.
Can you both please email me pictures to we will send you out replacements right away. The thumb issue is a first for me, but the clips we have had about 11 so far and we have already changed the tooling to remedy this - sorry about that, this is the first production run. Randall

Same here - just opened mine in east malaysia with one locking mechanism broken on one unit and a large gap around the thumb grip on the other unit (it doesnt fully close properly). Please advise what we can do to replace the broken units.
