A few drops of WD-40 will help. Awesome little spinner!

Really really disappointed that the buttons don't come off. The bearing in mine is terrible and feels like the race is not true. Even after cleaning as best I could there is random jumps. Would have loved to have been able to change the bearing out to one of the MANY other bearings I have. I would not have ordered if I knew this was a restriction of the design.

Some of our backers were concerned about the sound of the bearing. Hybrid ceramic bearings are dry bearings so they do not have any lubricant in them. That's how they can spin for so long. That does make them a bit noisy though. You can quiet the bearing by putting a small drop of a very light oil like WD40 between the cap and the bearing face. It will shorten the spin time but the bearing will be a lot quieter.

Received my Minima yesterday and am disappointed in the spin?? 7 seconds max, sounds like sand in the bearings. Now the caps do not come off?? I had a one drop waiting for it? Any help?

I'm glad your like it Freddie! The buttons are fitted into the bearing with a press. So, unfortunately, no they are not removable. There is a small space between the bearing face and the button where the bearing can be cleaned with a jet of compressed air if necessary. They can also be flushed out with rubbing alcohol to remove more stubborn dirt.
