Hi @Graham,
thanks for your message. We looked for more information about your automatic curtains (Move by Teptron) and it seems that Momo should be able to interface with them. However, we can not confirm at 100% the compatibility 'cause we didn't have the opportunity to test it directly on Momo. Hi @Levy,
thanks for your message. As explained in the last update, in these weeks Momo is undergoing a re-engineering process of its hardware components. The good news is that this phase is almost ready, defining the new hardware in every single part. In the next days we will publish an update in which we will illustrate the work done. The next steps are well defined and concern the start of the production phase which will lead to the delivery of Momo by the new date scheduled for October 2018.
Thanks again for your support and for the trust you have given us. Momo Team

I'm curious - Momo has been in a reassessment mode for weeks if not months - for the better part of the time we (your backers have give you space) I'd like to know what's the status of Momo and what are the next steps that will led to manufacturing and delivery?
Graham Tubbs
Review from Kickstarter
Excellent - the doorbell in question is a Skybell Trim Plus - and they seem to already intergrate with Alexa, Nest and IFTTT (plus a few other systems) and connect via Wifi. Next question - my new automatic curtains seem to be using some sort of propriarty bluetooth - the devices don't show up on a regular device search - will Momo be able to find and control them? the device name is Move by Teptron.

Review from Kickstarter
Hi @Graham,
thanks for the message. Yours is a really good question.
Obviously a lot depends on the model and the type of doorbell that you intend to buy. On average, however, Momo, as already explained during the August 25th update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/98269215/momo-your-intelligent-smart-home-assistant/posts/1971074, will be able to to share with other smart camera and ip camera their own features of face recognition and motion detection to allow you, as in the case of example you wrote, to be able to open the door as soon as you identify your face. It is important to specify, however, that this will also depend on the type of doorbell you intend to buy and its functional characteristics. In any case, however, if the doorbell will be equipped with a Wi-Fi connection, Momo will be able to interface with it, thus managing and monitoring the various accesses inside the home. @Hi Robert,
as we wrote in the last update Momo delivery will be in October 2018.
Thank you for your question. Momo Team

So, heres a scenario i wonder if Momo could handle:
I've now got a smartlock that currently uses Bluetooth but can also handle Z-wave
I want a smart doorbell that will connect via wifi.
If the doorbell take a picture of me can Momo use facial recognition to contact the zwave lock to let me in? If this works, how fast could it be?
Or do I just need to wait for the doorbell to get facial recognition then use Momo to talk to the lock?

Hi @Graham,
thank you for your comment and for your patience.
Your prediction is perfectly fitting. Momo was born to automatically and intelligently manage all smart devices at home (including Amazon Alexa or Google Home as a speaker). So, yes, your scenario is absolutely plausible. Thank you! Momo Team

The delay is unfortunate, but understandable. It leads to a wider question - I was watching a youtube vid reviewing smart home stuff from this years CES the other day and that word "proprierty" keep popping up.
If this is the way things are going where will that leave Momo? One of the things I want is (to borrow from LOTR) one device to rule them all without a gazillion bridges hanging off my router.
I forsee Momo handling the automatic stuff, Alexa handling user requests and my phone filling in the gaps. Is that plausible?

Hi all, @Jan, thanks for your comment and for your suggestions.
With all the limitations of a small startup, we always try to be honest and communicate our difficulties with maximum transparency.
About your question:
- Cloud Services: you'll be able to use not only Dropbox, but also Drive or One Drive;
- Processor and Cameras: we are working to improve the processor and to create several devices (not just Smart cameras) that integrates Momo's Intelligence.
This information will be more detailed in the next weeks, and if everything will be ok, we are sure that it will be a pleasure surprise for all of you.
- The specs of Momo have not been changed compared to those indicated in the campaign, but we are evaluating different solutions that allow us to improve its performance.
As soon as the development team has completed the testing process we will give you more information about it. @Robert, we writed in private the ways through which you can change your shipping address. If you encounter problems, do not hesitate to contact us. @ Graham, thank you for your question. Momo's Z-Wave module is designed to support frequencies for the US and EU. Hi creators, The first 3 lines of your message made me laugh, and also say out loud "what about you guys.!! You are the tech boys and girls making a product and if we BACKERS should understand how much time is needed to build a device like Momo, you should have know upfrond your timeline was imposible from day one!! I'm not surprised about the timeline, but I do not like that you feel that BACKERS must be put in their place. I did not believe the october shipping from day one, but you can not address backers that ask you about your own deadline, that also invested money in a product nd compagny before the big investors did, nd without high return of investment. Please remember that October was your date, and most of thetime you only update when asked by backers. (Not always) the backers here are the ones that gave the first little push to your succes. Please do not forget.. That told ;) Looks good guys, I'm very happy you keep testing and go for perfect quality and high tech product. Also very happy you did chose to make the hardware changeable (we did chat about that before) I have also a view questions. Before I asked if you could make it, so Momo can use One-drive and other cloud services (not only dropbox or your own service). Most users have some kind of cloud service, and most customers are not happy if they are not free to use your own service. I'm very surprised about the processor the ARM 1.2 quad-core. This is pretty low-end. Why not using the kind of processor used in smartphones and other products that have to multitask and do fast calculations one moment and stand by the other.
If I look at the galaxy S7 (model 2016) Octa-core 2.3Ghz Quad + 1.6 Ghz Quad.
I believe if Momo will handle all functions fast and be able to multitask. And grow in functions, It needs more than 1.2 quad. And off course a minimal of 2GB (I hope 4GB perhaps 6GB ;) And have you also been thinking about add ons, like before I have, and I would love some extra cameras (3th party great) but a Momo camera like a thin-client using the software and system from Momo.
And a must have is a Momo smart Doorbell, so Momo can answer the door for me. And my previous list is still a wish off course:) Can you tell some more what Momo can do so far. And 3th party, which products ? Keep up the good work, and I would love to test the Momo for you (like a user, not a techy) I'm sure I'm not the only one .. Hope to have Momo in my hands coming June and see if Google Home and Tic-Home can retire or work in service of a new boss Momo ;) And....... If you need more time to make the product perfect, share this upfront and keep us in the loop!! I believe in Momo and what you can do, but you need to work a bit about your PR ;)) Greetings Jan Greetings Jan

Hi all backers,
we fully understand your concerns.
As all of you know perfectly, create a complex device like Momo requires careful and scrupulous design and test of each component before the production phase.
We cannot neglect anything at this stage, in order to minimize the risks of errors during the production phase.
The timeline we wrote in previous updates has not changed: the steps to be reached remain the same. Through our updates we try to tell you how we are carrying on the development process of Momo and all the steps that bring us closer to the start of the production phase, despite the delay accumulated during these months.
We share with you information about the goals that we reached concerning meetings with investors, awards and partner companies to make you part of our activities and give you an idea of our effort in trying to get the necessary resources to accelerate towards the production phase.
Talking about the Beta Testing program: we have evaluated it and we know that it is very difficult to set a hardware test program abroad because it's difficult to follow activities that happen in far environment at the actual state of development: our technical team should be present and there would be high costs and logistic issues.
Once it will be possible to extend the program with you in any extent, we will communicate it as soon as possible. Thank you again for your support and your comments. Momo Team

What's up? There was supposed to have beta testing, nothing said?! When is product going to be in our hands? It is good that your company has positive interest from investors but we are making equity investment - we want a product that was promised. We deserve information regarding our interest beta testing, and delivery schedule.

Thanks for your response... So the countdown ends in June. I'd appreciate having a checklist of what's needed to happen in terms of milestones up to our final delivery. As an old line blackbelt project manager - milestones helps me feel confident that things are getting done and even when things slip I will feel better knowing what's up and what's next. I know that you have been very good in your communications with us but I think sometimes in your conveying your appreciation for our ongoing support you tend to try in soften what we need to be told directly. Again, forgive me my attempt to direct how and what you do ... but at times like these I've seen to many ks projects try to hide the difficulty but ever communicating or by flat out lying. We'll be with you even when you have to pass on some hard to hear news. Trust us. We are with you lets show you.

Hi @Levy,
thank you for your comment. We perfectly understand your concerns and your doubts. They're legitimate and show affection to our small team and ambitious project. It is very important for us to stay motivated to keep going.
Unfortunately, at this stage, the only way we can be close to you is to be transparent and communicate openly with you. This is the reason why we share not only our successes, but also difficulties and slow downs. They're part of the journey and we consider it correct to share them with you, also because we learn a lot from them, and they make us go closer to the final result. We are putting all of our effort, problem-solving skills and hard work to get the delivery of Momo in June.
As you understand, it is very difficult to create an hardware product from scratch. It's a complex process that requires several challenges that could be very hard for a small business like ours.
We know that we have to show you a lot, and we strongly believe in the value and effectiveness of our work.
And that's why we are always here, willing to talk with you and to tell you every little step forward made for our project, on which you believed. And that's why we will always be grateful. Thanks again Momo Team

In your last update response - I was left concern and needing to clear my thoughts. So - this is what I take away from your last response: You believe we should have been sufficiently in informed from you Dec Update regarding the delivery time table... I was not! You believe that we should understand that the beta testing of hardware needs to be conducted near you because of resource constraints ... I agree. You believe that that those of us the receive the early version of momo should be prepared for bugs and the like that be fix in sort of a software beta environment... Up to a limited degree - I understand, but... You believe that we (users of momo) will receive our product in JUNE!! - Uh!!! -

Hi Levy,
the CES was great! Momo gained huge approval from all the visitors. Furthermore, we had the possibility of understanding how the area we are involved in is growing, and that our way is the right one. Tomorrow we'll publish an update to tell you better what happend and what we gained from such an event.
Talking about the Beta Testing program: we have evaluated it and we understood that it is very difficult to do an hardware test abroad because the environments are hard to be supported directly by our technical team and there will be economical and logistic issues. While, it will be more plausible to involve all the backers in a software test, because our team will be ready to solve malfunctioning or problems updating the operative system. This test will allow us to create together some innovative aspects of Momo interaction and features, beacause we think your advice is very important for us and for the development of the product. Thank you for your message and deep interest in our project. Momo Team

Hi @Jan,
thank you for your comment. As you already know, Momo is able to manage Philips Hue products, so you'll be able to check with Momo every information coming from the Philips devices. Moreover, as you already know, Momo integrates several environmental sensors (humidity, temperature, CO, CO2, etc.) through which you will be able to check at any time the air quality of your home and to prevent any accidents due to possible gas leaks. Thank you very much once again for your comment and for your support.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Momo Team!

Hi guys, one more thing i want to share. I have a Philips Hue in my house, and this week when I opened HUE LAPS ( Philips beta program in the app). When it started I opened showing all my movement/light sensors, and the also did show temperature. I did test the given temp, and it is correct up 0,1 degree. I do share this because those options can have endless possibilities for Momo if you guys can "high jack " those functions. Controlling functions in the house, not only with movement, bit light/dark, but also temp (in very room)...

Hi @Jan,
thank you very much for your comment full of good ideas.
Compatibility with other devices has always represented one essential feature for Momo.
We strongly believe, in fact, that users must always be free to choose the devices that best suit their preferences.
But, as you have suggested, in addition to the production of Momo we are already thinking to design a family of devices capable of bringing Momo's intelligence in every corner of the house, exactly as you wish.
Your comment, however, is very important for us 'cause is the confirmation that we are proceeding in the most useful direction for you and for all our backers.
Thank you so much for your contribution and yours ideas. Momo Team

Hi guys, just a sidestep for the future? Or perhaps you already working on it. You say Momo can controll and communicate with other smart products. At the moment I have the Google home, and the Tichome from Mobvoi (Mobvoi also on Kickstarter) running Google assistant. They can communicate but not as I would like. Setting an alarm in the living room for the unit in the bedroom.. ECT. Some things will work most not! I would love to have Momo to control and let Momo control things from every room in the house (and outside the house) this can be done by putting multiple Momo in the house, but that would be expensive and not nesesairy to have so much power in all units.
Do you have plans, to up/cros-sell thin client units. Or even better Bricks, so you can click options you need on a base unit, controlled by Momo. In the bedrooms and or bathroom Mic and speaker and small memory but the CPU and storage from Momo. Perhaps extra camera units, for security. Extra smoke/Heat/?? Detectors. PowerPoint, to controll non smart devices. A doorbel/intercom. Short, it's great to be compatible with other vendors, but better to have it yourself, so you know it works like it should. I would love Momo to answer the door and make a picture if someone rings the bell and do not answer. Put on the lights when I get home not only by GPS of my phone, but by seeing it's me and start my music, lighting ECT. I can go on and on and on. Short, you have 1000ths of vendors having great options. But 0 that have all or can controll all. I would like a JETSONS house. And call it MOMO house .....:))

Hi Graham,
your idea is very interesting and we will definitely evaluate it. At the moment, of course, we are very focused on Momo's production in order to get the delivery as soon as possible.
This does not change the fact that in the next months we could study the development of the solutions you're talking about. Momo is just the beginning of our "dream" and, even if we are very focused to bring our Momo to your homes, we are already thinking about how to improve and expanding the experience of our Home Genius. Keep in touch!

Just wondering - I appreciate you are all working very hard to get Momo up and out, but reading your last update again made me wonder - I know when we all backed Momo we knew it was a lamp, but reading the comments, its more about the AI, the control, security and sensor sides of things.
With that in mind can you see Momo having a Dot to its Alexa (to borrow from other sources). which has all the features except the lamp? How integrale is the light to Momo's other features?

Surely, we're doing our best and we will keep you updated! @Paolo, with the camera you'll be able to use all the functionalities and add Face Recognition and Motion detection to it, thanks to Momo capabilty of sharing these features to standard smart cameras through Computer vision.
