Audio Research Reference 160M Monoblock Power Amplifier

Editor's Rating

Experience a new type of amp with the Audio Research Reference 160M Monoblock Power Amplifier. The Reference 160M amplifier looks and sounds different to standard amps. Featuring a sophisticated audio topology, the Reference 160M comes with fewer but improved components in the signal-path than its predecessors. Additionally, it comes with a patented auto-bias, an advanced power meter, and output tube monitoring and protection. Likewise, it has a switchable Ultralinear/Triode operation. The Reference 160M marks the first time that all of these features exist in an Audio Research amplifier. The look of the Reference 160M complements the REF6 preamp but also has a transparent faceplate, exposing the KT150 vacuum tubes. It even incorporates a dual-layer construction with distinctively engraved markings, creating an integrated power meter. Furthermore, hidden LEDs make the output-level markings glow. Plus, you can even adjust the illumination brightness.
