Looks like a good product with good design and engineering
I would suggest the following:
Only 2 screwdriver bits, 1 Phillips & 1 flat tip
Flashlight with red and white lense
A small knife blade
A wider container
Don’t require it to be attached to the key chain

perfect to carry a small set of screwdriver bits in to add to other keychained tools for a mini tool set.

@Julian Starke - Glad to have you with us. Since we likely won't reach that stretch goal we will have to push the key organizer back a bit, but we do plan to develop in in the future. Stay tuned.

@Leland Stedge - Welcome back. The flat Leatherman bits are cool but they won't work in the Clip System. The magnet holds the standard hex bits in place (no retaining ring). You are correct that you can plug bits into the second hex opening and use it as a right angle wrench.

Nice to be part of this! And the detachable CLiP System add-on that will keep keys organized sounds very nice. Maybe it's possible to sell this as an add-on if we don't get this stretch-goal.

I own a toolcard and recommend it to everyone, so when I saw your new project I was in!
I was wondering if the bit holder would be able to hold Leatherman's flat double ended bits https://www.leatherman.com/bit-kit-127.html Is there any kind of retaining ring, or is it only the magnet holding the bits?
I don't think i saw it elsewhere, but it looks like the clip can hold bits at 90 degrees too?

@Chuck Dee - We will be using Backerkit to finalize and fulfill orders so you will be able to adjust your reward level and select whatever add-ons you want. I believe since the BitVault is less than the BitLight you will get a credit in Backerkit. Public Enemy #1

Review from Kickstarter
Are you going to have a Backerkit after the campaign? I pledged for the Bitlight, but I'm thinking that I might rather the BitVault and didn't know if I needed to decide now.

@Sarah Zdenek - Thanks for the suggestion. It seems like it would be a useful product. Our target market is focused on adults now but maybe at some point we could expand the line.

I love this product for myself, I was wondering if you have considered a similar kid version for the future? House key, emergency money, school flash drive, medicine (for those old enough to take it), some hygiene items...just thinking of my preteens and the fact that their backpacks are loaded down and how often their pants get washed with just the exact same crud you had pictured for adults. The tactical look makes it less than school-friendly in this current climate, and the option to make it into a screwdriver might get it banned as a potential weapon, but the actual idea behind this is SO great and would be a wonderful help to kids trying to keep themselves organized and healthy. My two cents :-)

@Rudi - Thanks for the input. We're going to make this as strong as possible while still being light and small enough to carry. We've been testing the metal prototypes and they're really strong. We'll be testing them to failure soon to see where they are weakest and we will beef up or modify those areas for the final design. I like the hex bit idea. Thanks.

Review from Kickstarter
Hi there
Please make sure that it will be strong enough as a real screwdriver. (most of this kind of small product tend to break fast) As an add-on, I would recommend you to make a small sharp hex bit, just for opening boxes.

@Milena Konfeta - I am wrapping up vendor tours next week and will pick a final vendor shortly after. We have been working with vendors in the U.S., China and Taiwan. Right now it looks like our contract manufacturer in China is our best option. That will give us the best combination of quality, capabilities, and cost to get the best final product we can get.

Please tell where it will be manufactured? China?

Hello Mike! This is another great idea, and Ive been enjoying my Toolcards (though honestly mostly the bottle opener!) I was wondering if you would consider adding a magnesium/flint firestarter to the bitkits? Keep up the awesome work @Levergear!

@Shane Felgate - Another great idea. We'll work on it.

Could you add a blade bit
Mike Scully
Review from Kickstarter
@Shane Felgate - That would be a perfect addition. I was thinking of making some different bits like this but hadn't gotten around to it. I'll reach out to them to see if they are making it even though they didn't reach their goal. We're also working with a bit supplier who can make some custom bits for us. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Kamil bin Anang - Thanks. We think they will make great gifts too. If you decide you want more you can look at the add-on menu and add the dollar amount to your pledge.

@Shane Felgate - That little bottle opener should fit easily, with a cord ring instead of a keyring though. I tried to make the carabiner be a bottle opener but it's not big enough. We will test it thoroughly to make sure it's built to last.

can the carabiner clip be used to open a bottle? can it stand the test of time?

@Tobias Johansson - Justin is correct about adding $36 to your pledge. You'll be able to specify exactly what you want after the campaign. We will have a black/dark gray color for sure if that's what you mean by gun metal. We'll have more info on exact colors later.

Review from Kickstarter
@Janss - we will be having our vendor modify an existing magnetic bit extender to make it a little shorter so it fits in the BitVault. You can carry 4 additional bits.
Justin
Review from Kickstarter
@Tobias just add $36 to your pledge to receive a second Bit Vault and yeah the clip is removable.
Tobias Johansson
Review from Kickstarter
Right, sorry! Forgot one question, is the clip removeable? becuase I will always keep this in my bag rather than having it on my keychain or anything like that. For that I would prefer to not have the clip as that could scratch my phone.

Review from Kickstarter
I'm currently looking for something to store my medication (I have severe allergies and must keep my medication with me at all time). This looks perfect for it! Just some small questions as well:
1. Is there any chance that you are going to offer a gun metal color for the aluminum?
2. If I wanted to have two boxes, could I just double my pledge and write later that I want two? I do no want the one with the flash light since I only want to keep my medication in this and not use it for anything else. :) It is more since all the stuff I have at the moment are either ugly as hell, or too big.

Are there more details about the bit extender? Does it fit in the BitLight and how many bits can the BitLight hold besides the extender?
Mike Scully
Review from Kickstarter
@KD - thanks for the feedback. I understand your concerns. Our plastic prototypes were pretty strong and we have begun testing the aluminum prototypes. The clip does nest a bit with the mating end to keep it from tweaking. I’ll be sure to test the clip and spring thoroughly. We may offer some alternative options for the keychain end in the future.

@Shane Felgate - I tried my best to get a bottle opener on the outside. I like the idea of a tool that fits in the bit holder. We’ll keep working on it.

Review from Kickstarter
Hello. This looks like a great project. Happy to have backed. I agree with @Schollbach's comment about providing a a 3D printer file for users to adapt and create their own trays. That would be an excellent way of reinforcing the value of the tool. Additionally, I backed the "Bit Bar : The Pocket Friendly EDC Screwdriver" here on Kickstarter, which has a degree of similarity in how the bits attach to the case. The limitation with their design was that the magnet to hold the bits in place on the case was too weak. Would recommend having a strong magnet to fix that problem on your CLiP..

Review from Kickstarter
I'm concerned with the durability of the clip. So often clip springs wear out and get loose or clip arms misalign creating lateral play in the hinge. How will this system be any different? Will there be an option for a closed loop (ie same look with no hinge)?

Any way to add a bottle opener to the screw set drivers kit or along the outside?

@Shawn - Welcome to Kickstarter. Caution, it may be habit forming. We love this platform as a way connect with our backers and really tell the story behind the product and get their feedback. You got it right, your CC will be billed in June and then we'll use the funds raised to complete the project to pay for things like tooling and our first order. Then we'll ship your product as soon as it's ready, hopefully before our Nov target. If you want to add a bit kit, just click on your pledge and it will take you to a webpage where you can adjust the amount of your pledge. Just add $6. Don't worry about picking the exact bit kit you want or any other details about your order right now. We'll get all that info after the campaign. Thanks for backing us and glad our product inspired you to join Kickstarter.

Well, this is the first time ever backing someone. I downloaded the Kickstarter app. Looks like a cool EDC tool. I wasn't sure how this works because I'm new here. I guess I'll be billed in June. What free add on/gift do you get? How do you add it? I think I'd like to purchase the $6.00 bits. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Looking forward to your product guy's.

@Schollbach - noted on the clip. Love the suggestion about the 3D printer. We thought of having different trays for different situations but opted for a basic tray with a insert to hold bits. I think it would be awesome to print a custom tray to fit your essentials. Email me after the campaign and I'll send you the file.

I am so excited for my CLiPs (I'm definitely getting one of each)! I backed The Toolcard back in the day. Ever since, I have made sure I know what magic is happening at Levergear. You all have done it again! Thanks for making lasting products that make everyday life a bit neater and way cooler!

I'm also pro deep carry pocket clip.
Also CAD files for inserts to be modified would be a cool addition for those who have access to a 3D printer.
Nice discussion going on here! Looking forward to my CLiP!

@Shannon Reese - Thanks for the insight! As a guy I don't always think about how women may use it differently, but carrying this with your keys instead of the purse in certain situation sounds great. I know my wife is often switching things from one purse or pocket book to another so having the small stuff in an easily transferable container seems like a great use.
