Néit is the World’s first Smart, Collapsible fully Hard-Shelled luggage. Made out of Polycarbonate and Aluminium, the case, that’s design is loosely based on the protective shell of an armadillo, collapses down to 30% (3″) of its volume when not in use. The built-in carabiner style handle allows for hung-storage in your closet. Our 4 wheels make it easy to manoeuvre and fold-away into the base to save space while travelling and in storage. The case has (optional) GPS which is accessed through our accompanying travel app. The app allows you to find your case, store boarding passes, book flights and hotels, check flight statuses, map routes to airport and gain local area tips.

Hi all, The Check-In cases are leaving our factory, batch by batch. We have divided all orders into 3 consignments departing from our factory in China to Europe (London), Americas (New York) & Asia (Hong Kong) by freight. Once arrived at the ports in each region, the cases will be locally shipped to you. We will send out an email once the cases have arrived at your respective port in the region. After we complete shipping the Check-In cases we will begin manufacturing the Carry-On cases. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Ok guys, I've been asked by the Neit team to post something positive about them, but I did get my cases, so they are not lying. I was lucky that I spoke Chinese and live in Asia, so the delivery company just called me to verify my address and stuff all in Chinese, and I got my 3 cases like end of 2017. I think the Neit team has realized the difficulties of language barriers so they've (as they told me) moved to Hong Kong to find a better shipping company. I never realized the shipping process can take this long either, but you know, Kickstarter is about innovation AND the risks. The team may suck at running the whole process, but they are responsible and they do deliver (eventually), that, I want to give my testimony.

Still haven't received my case from March 2016 backing (I was backer number 93). I have also sent 4-5 emails to the support email with little response. After 2 years (!!) I would expect some sort of ownership over the situation.

I was in London when Neit was exhibiting at the V&A museum, it gave me a chance to see the case up close and find out its inner workings. Speaking to Christian and his team it was clear how passionate they were about the project and this has translated to the physical case itself, i am really looking forward to getting my cases!

I saw the Neitcase at the Travel Goods Show in Las Vegas last week and was very pleased with it. I trialled the case and even learned how to collapse and unfold. Must say, it looks very sturdy and stands out among other suitcases. I managed to speak to the founder and inquired about the reason for delays. It was very comforting to know that the brand is passionate about getting a good quality case out rather than hurrying up with whatever they have. Can’t wait to receive mine. Olga

As mentioned in our update, we've had a series of issues while manufacturing and are doing our best to get our customers a good quality Neitcase. We just arrived back from the Travel Goods Show in Las Vegas where the travel industry witnessed the Neitcase in action. We want nothing more than all our customers receiving the Neitcase and rolling out the World's first smart, collapsible, hardcase luggage.

@Andreas: Thank you for getting in touch with us and we apologise for the experience you have had with the Neitcase, especially travelling at this time of the year. It has been a tough journey taking the cases through the development and we have certainly had our issues with suppliers and quality of materials received which have added to delays. However, we have made sure the Neitcase and the wheels were put through various tests like a drop test, mileage test on various terrains, with weights etc. We have also had the wheel engineering inspected in Japan. It is unfortunate that this has happened and this is the first time we are encountering a problem with the internal clips. We are definitely looking into this and will make sure we replace the case for you. I’ve received two suitcases and used one once. During transit one wheel bend and almost broke. Had to force it back into place. Arguably I should’ve collapsed the wheels, which is forgot, however would’ve expected the wheels to be sturdy enough to not break. One of the plates/rims of a wheel also came off. The logo on the front of the suitcase fell off in transit too. The front panel is wobbly and doesn’t look complete. When dismantling it after travelling one of the plastic parts holding the frame in place broke. So, I’m so far not too impressed with the quality. Surprisingly after long delays due to this exact issue. Néit, if you’re reading this I wouldn’t mind a compensation.

Just to be fair, I have received my cases about two weeks ago (around mid November). I do live in Asia so I guess I'm one of the lucky people who have received the cases in a relatively prompt fashion. The shipping process was weird though, because apparently the carrier couldn't recognize my address so they called and talked to me directly in Chinese, and my address on the label was in Chinese too, I think this might be the reason why some of the other backers are having troubles with. Regarding the customs charge - they charge you if the custom thinks you are buying for business. Again this can be taken care of at the shipping stage (and you probably shouldn't order too many cases). I ordered 3 cases and the shipping company called to sort out some paper work, and I didn't get additional charges by the custom. I hope this helps.

Be aware! They will tell you there is no addidition charge, but delivey company just ask me to pay US$130 extra customs fee. I tried to contact Neit but no one respond. We waited over year for this quite expensive product and its a shame that they couldn't care more for their customers.

I've sent a letter to the editors of FlyerTalk.com about this company and the issues with delivery on the bags and of course the lack of real in-use data. I've urged them to tell subscribers not to buy the bags at this point in time.
