Hi there, I found your blog via Google while looking for a related topic, your site came up, it looks good. I've bookmarked it in my google bookmarks.

@Blindman2k - Can you send us an e-mail? Would love to get some feedback from you. Thanks so much! You can get to us directly at or via kickstarter message.
It's fun to go back and look at the most disappointing projects I've backed. This is definitely up there. Years of waiting for the promised features. Lots of promises, very little delivery.
That's great news! Thanks a lot.
@Dan, yup! you can do that with NUIMO currently.
@Yota, we are looking into an IFFFT integration right now.
After the hub is ready. Do you have any plan for IFTTT?
Dan Harvey
Can I use Nuimo to turn on my Philips Hue light using the Philips Hub? Thanks.
@Jeroen, We are sorry to hear that, we are launching several integrations as the hub will open up many more options. If you would like to discuss further we are happy to be in touch at We would love to hear what integrations you would most like to see.
Jeroen Masselink
I have never had more regret of buying something.
The Nuimo doesn't work as advertised...
Integration sucks and the only thing you got working is Hue and Sonos. Very, very disappointed. Has been collecting dust for a long time now. Please think twice before you buy something from Senic!
@Martin We're in close contact with LIFX to work out the connectivity issue in their API. Let us know if you need more support, we can discuss at
@Steve - as we mentioned on the COVI page could you send us a quick e-mail about how you would like to use the Yamaha 3050 and link the exact model? Would be great so we can look into it deeper. Thanks!
@ProwlMedia, as we explained we have looked into several solutions (both software and hardware) we opted for a hardware solution as we wanted Nuimo users to still be able to benefit from the long battery life of BLE.
Should have made it zwave or zigbee from the outset
Wow another hub. No thanks. Never really worked as promised.
Steve Sebban
@Senic: One thing I want Nuimo to do is to control my receiver (Yamaha 3050) and in particular to control the volume via the ring and to select inputs and sound modes via swipes. Will the hub give me this behavior? (Now or in the future)
Martin P.
Did anybody ever get it to work with LIFX lights? The iOS App (in iPad) just cannot find any lights...
the LIFX app does find them and lets me control them. Any ideas?
Hi @jonny, as with most companies launching their first product, we learned a lot from our early supporters and the development process. Given the feedback, we worked really hard to find a way to provide better connectivity, more integrations and technology that would not get bricked in a software update from corporations. You can read all about our decision to make the hub and why it's the best possible way to take Nuimo to the next level-
Rather you fix the Nuimo than throw your hands in the air with another Hub to fix it --- mine is still collecting dust and hasn't ever performed.
hey @ingo, Unlike most single board computers such as the C.H.I.P. or Raspberry Pi, our hardware hub comes with a dedicated Bluetooth Low Energy controller that guarantees Bluetooth connections of longer distance and of higher stability. We are however working on making our software stack available for hardware platforms others than ours, such us Raspberry Pi.
Hey @Klaus, we're really swamped working on the next steps. Expect an update soon (also about beta testing)
Hm, I wouldn't mind, as I would to chat as suggested by Tobias. Unfortunately, no approach from him on this since then ;)
Yet another hardware hub for my house? Gee, thanks, but no thanks. Just give me a C.H.I.P. or Raspberry Pi image to gateway my OpenHAB system to my dust-collecting Nuimo via MQTT. If it works, maybe I'll get another.
@Senic: I am all open ;) (already applied for the beta testing, even...)
@Klaus Would love to chat about the details :) Tobias
Tobias here. I think we have misunderstanding and I'm sorry for any confusion. Your comment:
"They are going to help you use your Nuimo, they're going to bring out a Hub on Kickstarter to pair with the Nuimo and control all your things.
It'll cost you more money of course and more than likely won't get any new integrations going forwards but hey you'll be able to use it to control the extremely small amount of things it does work with." You're mentioning that we're releasing a hub with an extremely small amount of things it works with. This is not going to be the case but we'll share more details in the next update. If you have any questions, ideas, concerns, it would be great if you could send me a direct message to Would love to jump on a call with you to discuss the topic. Thanks! Tobias
@Andreas - Happy to hear that, we're really excited about launching the hub as it will address many of these issues (also please let us know at about some of these issues - sounds like we might already be able to improve your experience). We are doing the final cost analysis for the hub right now and will let everyone know once its finalized to avoid confusion. We plan to keep it as low as possible - especially for our backers who have supported Nuimo from the beginning.
@adam, Sorry for the misunderstanding - your guess was very close! The hub will increase the number of software integrations and overall stability as we outlined in our last update. Happy to hear more of your ideas at
Andreas Loibingdorfer
Basically the Hub is a good Idea - but for me and i think for many People at the current Stage Nuimo is not really useable (Disconnect Problems - Sleep Problems - Cant disable Ring Funtions for Volume Blowouts from Kids, Configure Ring Sensitivity, etc.)
Can you give us just an Idea of the End Consumer Costs for the Hub? 50€, 200€, ....?
Adam Groves
So your reply to me on the 24th of March was basically a lie then!!!
I hope you will also be releasing software we can install on our own hardware (like you implied), I don't need yet another hub cluttering up my house! not that I'm going to buy it anyway.
@Andreas We just shared the basic info. More details will come through the next update! Really excited about it. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks! Tobias
@Someone. As commented within the update. I'm sorry you had this experience. Could you please let me know which part is not working. We fixed all problems a few months ago through software updates (minus the connection which the hub is for). Please send me an email to Thanks! Tobias
I just got your newsletter about the "big thing". Seriously? You deliver Nuimo, which almost unusable with the first campaign, and then come up with a "big thing" where you expect backers to cough up more money to buy something that fixes the first product? Count me out. I have learned my lesson with Nuimo and some other half-finished hardware crowdfunding projects, I'll never fund some tech again. Non-tech things maybe, but not hardware.
Andreas Loibingdorfer
Any Update on the upcoming Big Thing?
@Adam, no, that wouldn't help if you are looking into using Nuimo as a local controller to enhace creativity (like a tool selector on graphics/CAD programs) what i think @Chris is going for.
Senic explained the case and it's understood that creating a Windows App/utility that lives up to the expoectations would require ressources they (curretnly) don't have. Still it's a hen/egg situation and as @Adam points out questionable to pull statistics of userbase that doesn't count for those who just don't have a choice - I backed 2 Nuimos but I am using only one - on ANdroid AND iOS while the second one is waiting for Windows support. So this is definitely watering the statistics and so - based on the hint it is NOT going to be a hub which I also assumed, until I ran the survey, that is, which clearly hints it isn't - I am totlally with @Adam on this one to rather assign ressources to widen up the usability/support first before diving into a new adventure which will completely tie all capabilities wiothin the still small team. I think Nuimo is almost there but sales can only take off if it's a procduct everyone can use on every platform. Speaking of which, I stillf ind it somewhat a one trick pony, it doesn't really allow me to control my Hues and Raumfeld in multiple rooms/zones in a way that feels natural and fluid. Dimmining multiple Hues for instance lags to an extend I am not tempted to even keep the profiles I created, white balance is not present, presets from bridge cannot be called....
But maybe, perhaps, and possibly they could be adressing this by making a better app/config tool. But - reading in between the survey lines I rather put my 2 cents on some Bluetooth/GC4A audio receiver that can be controlled by Nuimo and simultaneously may serve as dock/charging station for it.
Adam Groves
@Creator, ok so rather than releasing new hardware you're releasing new software to run on existing hardware like a Rasberry Pi. I think this is a much better approach going forwards, but it still means that people who don't have a single board computer like the Pi will have to spend more money to get the most out of the Nuimo.
@Adam Wrong guess :)
Adam Groves
@Chris, They are going to help you use your Nuimo, they're going to bring out a Hub on Kickstarter to pair with the Nuimo and control all your things. It'll cost you more money of course and more than likely won't get any new integrations going forwards but hey you'll be able to use it to control the extremely small amount of things it does work with.

Update $43: "We found the majority of our backers and customers are users of a iOS or Android device and some who use other platforms.". No support for Windows, so no Windows users. I still don't understand why we can get a simple Windows PC app to allow us to use this device. Windows (7,8, 10) still has 75%+ of the PC market, why do feel left out? Please help me get the most out of my Nuimo!
Felix Christmann
@Alexander G. Hi Alex!
Danke :)
Glad we could help, @phil! Thanks for all your support :)
Phil Price
Thanks sending out the desk stand, great service, just wish all kickstarter projects were as well ran as yours !!
@Jonas We feel the same way. :) Just stay tuned. It will be good.
Jonas Scherer
OK that sounds awesome!
Even if that would add another ''hub'' to a smart home system.
It's a bit frustrating, that every product needs its own hub..
Personally I'm looking forward to a custom solution with sth. like home assistant on the raspberry.
Keep us informed :)
Hey @Jonas, Tobias here.
Two things:
- During the whole process we found out that it is very hard to create stable integrations for Android because there are no standards on the quality of bluetooth chips in different Android devices for example and people also use very different os versions.
- On the bright side: That's why started to focus on building a simple hub which solves not only that problem but also the constant connection problem and also comes with a bunch of other really really cool things that I think everybody will like.
I cannot talk about it in detail quite yet but we will tell you guys very soon and of course you will be first to know!! Thanks so much! Tobias
Jonas Scherer
The Android app hasn't been updated for almost 3 months right now... Any news on that?
IOS seems to be preferred?
Jonathan moore
Can the sleep function be disabled? My numb now has some use as I have a machine with the latest OS X and bt4.0. Yet it still goes to sleep all the time??
Isn't the point of btle that a device can be permanently connected - you have to press the central button to then be able to use the wheel as a volume control??? Imagine if your bluetooth mouse needed a click before it would recognise a movement??
desk stands were shipped a few months ago so if you haven't received yours, please reach out and let us know at @steve, just sent you a private email about it :)
