Congrats! Looking forward to receiving the Freedom Pack!

Congratulations on hitting $100k! Hope you guys hit the targeted dates! Planning to use the Freedom Pack for my Hokkaido trip in late December!
We're super overwhelmed at the moment. @Royston Toh & @Katyanne Topping you guys are absolutely amazing. Never in our wildest dreams could we think up of such an initiative - tremendously touched by your support. And to everyone else, we had an amazing last day on Kickstarter (which we are sure you were all a part of) and we promise it won't be our last. Looking forward to fulfilment now and will get a proper update going once we catch up on some much needed rest. Chat with you all tomorrow, and THANK YOU!

Funded! Please don't fail us!

@edward L, I think 'word on the street' video you're looking for that @Pamela Aurelia Tay mentioned is this one:… (:
I sure hope that I haven't missed any add ons... didn't find any. As to locks: A pair of eyelets or loops to put one's own lock really should be there.
Yay! Congrats on reaching the 100k stretch goal. I am still hoping that Travelab will consider my last comment in regards to adding a lock mechanism on the buckle clip to increase its safety, especially after the 100k stretch goal has been reached. Cheers! :)
Edward L
@Royston Great idea. I would've done that, but looks like the $100k has already been met. Congrats Travelab and fellow backers!
Russell Dean
Will there be other colour choices for the interior other than yellow?
Second stretch reached. Congratulations!
Katyanne Topping
Great point and idea @Royston, I've joined you by increasing my pledge by $1. Let's get across the line and get that stretch goal :D
Royston Toh
We are close enough to the 100k stretch goal that we can reach it if every backer increases their pledge by $1! Of course getting brand new backers on board will still be preferred. I've increased my pledge by a dollar. Feel free to join me so that it'll be easier to reach the stretch goal together!
Super exciting guys - final stretch!
Edward L
Need pledges for 70 more packs

It's a race to the next stretch goal in the last 23 hours!
Edward L
@Pamela Thanks for the info.
Pamela Aurelia Tay
@Edward I've actually seen some videos of them hitting the streets on Facebook, but I think it was on a different page? In any case, I'm pretty sure they're based in Singapore.
Edward L
@Travelab Glad you were able to get your pack into the hands of some reviewers; they gave some good insight. One (or more) of the reviewers commented on how the clip of the top strap made it easy to steal. I think another backer asked if you could put a lock there, which you addressed and weren't going to do because you were focused on the two stretch goals you already set. I think a cheaper/easier alternative would be something like It requires two hands to undo the buckle. I realize it's probably too late to change, but I find this to be a good alternative. Depending on how you have the buckle sown I may try to replace it. I just need to figure out how to get hold of one of those buckles. The reviews are nice but I asked for more information on your founder and company. You said you'd "hit the streets with some of our local media partners" so maybe I'm not seeing the links in the update. At any rate, if you never intended to provide information about your founders and company I wish you would've just said so. Here's to faith in you being ethical and delivering the Freedom Pack.
@Annie & Ann - thanks for clarifying and for the feedback. We actually only have 1 pocket in the main compartment at the moment, which is for a laptop/tablet or anything else that fits, e.g. book, magazine, etc. We've been using the side pockets to store cables / earphones, which we felt to be sufficient so far. Thanks for the suggestion tho! While we'll seriously consider it, we do have to consider that adding in more pockets may add to the bulk. @coIR ah - that was our Nomatic Travel Bag which we bought from Kickstarter! =)
>@coIR - the bag we take the Freedom Pack out of turns into one of it's side pockets, which you can use to fit in a pair of sandals, an umbrella, or anything you choose! =) Sorry, I didn't make that very clear! I was asking about the pack lying on the surface whichwas opened, which the Freedom pack was inside of.
Hello creator! An Internal organisation pocket would be a definite plus to have aside from the sleeve in the main compartment. Lots of nitty gritty wires etc. to cart about. Please seriously consider!
ok.. i don't see it, all i see is a separating compartment for laptops. oh well... i'll try to believe you then¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hey @Edward L thanks for your support right from the very start! We did actually post those links in our latest update on Oct 17. Feel free to click on them to view the news and videos =) @Annie thanks for the suggestion. We do have a small separating pocket in the main compartment. You can check out our update on Sept 26 to get a peek of how it looks. Cheers!
Would you guys consider adding one or two small to medium sized pockets +/- zips in the main compartment for example to separate cables out so they don't tangle and create a mess or simply to put small breakable souvenirs or even a protein bar/candy
Edward L
@Travelab You commented on Sept 29, "Next week we'll hit the streets with some of our local media partners and will post updates to show you." Did this ever happen? I don't see any references to new videos/pictures. Hopefully they won't be headless/anonymous people running around. It'd be nice to put some faces to names. Hope you get the $12k in the last 4 days to hit the 2nd stretch goal.
Hey @Aditya, thanks for your suggestion. It's a really good one and it's something for us to think about and consider. While the handle clip was originally designed to be a convenience factor (e.g. clipping your bag onto a pole bar so you don't have to carry it), we can certainly see where you're coming from. To be upfront though at the moment we're pulling all the stops to try to hit our 100K stretch goal and are focusing our efforts on that. @coIR - the bag we take the Freedom Pack out of turns into one of it's side pockets, which you can use to fit in a pair of sandals, an umbrella, or anything you choose! =)
What is the bag you take the Freedom Pack out of in the second gif?
Hi Travelab! Thanks again for your hard work and product. I have a request to make. Is it possible to make a lock (as in the conventional lock with numbers clip will suffice) on the buckle clip for safety reasons? Because someone can just take the bag without me even noticing when I am too busy exploring. It would be great if this buckle clip has some kind of inbuilt lock mechanism. Thank you. Have a good day!
@Benjamin Low - thanks for your awesome support. We've sent you a DM!
Benjamin Low
Hi guys, thanks for this awesome product. Two of my best friends and I will be travelling to Europe next summer for our graduation trip and hence I would like to get 3 Freedom Packs. Right now I've already pledged for a buddy pack of 2, do let me know what I can do to get a third one. Thanks and all the best for your product launch.
Hey @Jas & @Simon thanks for the feedback. Re: the comfort and structure - totally get it. We've been using our prototypes for over a month now and find it to be very comfortable given it's lightweight structure and selectively placed compartments. However, structure wise we'd have to say at present we've designed it for packability so it's not as straightforward to structure. But we'll definitely take this feedback and see if that's something we can look into. Thanks again! @karl_bigel we've got things lined up to ship in dec and are on track for that, but we're told that dec is also a very busy shipping month and while I'd love to get the bags to you before your trip I'm unable to make any promises with regards to the shipping time once it leaves our hands but it does seem like the 12th falls into the early part of dec. Hope you understand!
A good padding is v impt for backpack. Hope creator can add in the rip stop nylon. The material looks very thin and seems easily torn.
If there are color to choose is a bonus :)
Simon Khong
I've owned different packable backpacks before and they've been great but the major isse is lack of structure (its not comfortable with something poking your back).
So far I've used my grid it as a barrier but it tends to shift around throughout the day. Is there a way for this bag to combat this issue?
Hello, my vecetions starting at 20.12 2017. Do you think I get my bag early enough?
I live in Austria, Vienna? Grettings Karl
@Michael Chung - we'll take another look. We've currently prioritised the quick access pockets on the straps because of how useful we believe they are when you're travelling - it's been an absolute breeze moving around with the Freedom Pack so far. With that said, if we blow past the 100k stretch goal maybe it's something we can look towards.. But let's focus on getting there first! By my math, still a bit of ways to go ;)
Hey Ved, we're still here! Just focusing our efforts on confirming product specifics, getting us to the 100k stretch goal, and also on our updates =)
Ved Uttamchandani
Oh my. I just backed this and it seems like @Creator has not been responding for 9 days now... Hope we hear back soon before some of us start leaving...
Dillon Pittman
Michael Chung I saw that but that seems more of an adventure bag instead of an anti-theft bag
Michael Chung
Just wondering, there's a packable backpack just like yours on indiegogo called sea to sky. They also figured out how to put in a sternum and waist strap and still made it compressible. Any chance we can revisit this as a stretch goal? I would love to have more security and comfortability by adding these straps.
Dillon Pittman
That is a good idea sharath but at the same time you will have all of the other people that missed the first super early bird wanting to change there pledge therefore lowering the total pledge that has already been made.
@Dillon Pittman Good point. For reaching the stretch goals it seems it is a good strategy. Anyway, its not illegal to do so. But seems a little unfair. But in favor of reaching the stretch goals I'm okay with it. I've an alternate suggestion to the creator to make it seem fair. May be next time when you open a SEBR, you could at least change the delivery time, like postpone it by a month or so... May be create a new reward tier something like "Super Early Bird II". That way should be okay. I've seen that being done on some other projects here on KS. But I still wish to hear more about the other details everyone is anxious about & anticipating...
Arnaud Parant
Totally agree with Sharath and Dillon.
By the way, I think I missed the window because for me now it is not possible to contribute for the Super Early Bird. I pledged for Early Bird as the SEBR was closed when I pledged. I found unfair if some people after me had the chance to get the SEBR. Many thanks for your thoughts.
Dillon Pittman
I agree with Sharath, it does seem little unfair, but at the same time I do see the point in reopening the super early bird special, so that you can reach the stretch goals. At the rate it's going it seemed that it will only hit just over $90,000 and I personally would like to see this hit its stretch goals. But it does seems unfair for the ones that did do the super early bird. As a suggestion Maybe for the super early bird backers, offer different colors. But either way I'm just really wanting this bag, and can't wait for it to arrive.
BTW its Oct 6 2017, 4:00 PM IST right now
At the time I'm posting this comment, I see that the Super Early Bird Reward (SEBR) tier has been opened again... its of course time limited, but - what's the point of opening the SEBR again?
There are more than 200 backers who have pledged on the Early Bird Reward tier & it feels totally unfair & disloyal to them. If you are able to give away more packs at less price, isn't it better is to offer existing backers a discount over & above the current pledge or add some freebies/ stretch goals rather than re-opening SEBR? Kindly justify your action. No offence.
Jaime Lai
I've pledged super early bird. Can I double my pledge to get 2?
Hi I too want some more credibility from you guys. What's your base? Who are on your team. Please provide more info so that we could trust you more...
Also both the stretch goals seem to be already there in the bag.
The padded straps were originally there, so was the slash proof material. Though you've not made it explicit on the campaign page over here, it is mentioned (at least the slash proof material) in your temporary website (which needs to update, its still showing 500% goal reached, which is now almost double that). Please show some positive response with some concrete facts to win confidence. Hope you don't mind.
Arnaud Parant
Hi guys,
Many thanks for all this answers and this awsome product :D
Can't wait to have it in hand ;) Regarding the suggestion/comment, agree with @Edward L - hope it is not a scam. Otherwise, I had another comment like @Aditya regarding the sweat but you're already answered so all fine :) or the padded straps to have a great confort.
"Bon courage" for the last couple of months.
Christian Stollberg
same suggestion as already done by Dillon Pittman, some other colour would be very appreciated, black is very common and the inside of the backpack will became warm under the sun.
@Dillion thanks for the color suggestions we'll look into it! @Pus Pus & ThJe thanks for the requests for pictures / videos! Apologies if we weren't clear, Pus Pus you're right we are indeed talking about an upgraded padded strap material. We have actually asked for pictures from the factory but as it is a national holiday week we will need some time to hear back from them. We'll certainly provide an update once we hear back from them. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
