Okay Corbin that explains a lot thank you for clearing that up also I take it will be getting our survey sometime this week so we can update our shipping info correct
Corbin Wyatt
@Everyone Thanks for the support! CES ended with a bang and we're excited to get back to work come Monday. To answer questions in a blanket sort of way:
1) We're on schedule and things are looking great
2) You're going to love your Hudly's
3) You can reach us at anytime with questions/comments/dinner invitations
4)We decided to do In Demand from Indiegogo, which is essentially an extension of our Kickstarter campaign. All Kickstarter backers will receive their units first in March and we've sent Indiegogo delivery dates for April.
5) Thank you for all the kind words! The team is blown away by the support we've received from our community and we're pumped to begin delivery.

Where can I send an email to check about some data?
Thanks everyone for clearing that up I really appreciate it also if you notice that they did the live event here in Kickstarter to and not Indiegogo which shows they really do care which I know they do so you know it's just me that's all but yeah anyway I'm not going to make any more comments about this congratulations to the company and I'm sure we all can't wait to get our hudly and enjoy it so again congratulations
Justin Case Wetterberg
@SCOTT I just had a look at indiegogo again and they've set the expected delivery date there to April, and on Kickstarter in March, so they are definitely prioritizing us. :)
Justin Case Wetterberg
@SCOTT Companies going go indiegogo after Kickstarter is very common, so there's no need to worry about that.
Look at it as sort of a pre-order shop that they're able to use thanks to the Kickstarter. If you look at the prices you'll see that there were better prices on Kickstarter due to us backing it earlier. $199 for the Super Backer pledge (most expensive single unit) here, but the Early Bird offer (cheapest offer) costs $209 there, so we get a better price thanks to being there from the beginning so to speak, especially the Super Early Birds here on Kickstarter. And as to the amount of money that they've made, you've unfortunately misunderstood the amount on indiegogo. They have raised $280k according to indiegogo, but that is including the money from Kickstarter. There is a small question mark next to the "Total funds raised" on indiegogo, and if you click on it you'll see a window that says "1246 backers originally pledged $279,351 USD on another platform", which is the money from Kickstarter. This means that so far it's about $1300 from indiegogo, and all the money they can raise will help. It's an additional way of getting better funding, not a separate one so to speak.
I have a large amount of faith in the company so if there would be a situation where they can't deliver to both Kickstarter and indiegogo in one run, I won't doubt for a second that they will serve Kickstarter first. Considering it's as of this moment an additional 5 or 6 units, there is absolutely no need to worry. Of course there will be more orders coming in on indiegogo, but they will most likely order more units from the manufacturer than the exact amount needed to serve the backers, since they will want to be able to sell it the "normal way" as well. :) @creator HUGE congratulations on a successfully funded campaign! I'm eagerly waiting for my Hudly. :D
@Scott.... Yeah I figured as much with the shipping to a land down under such as Aussie Land yet had I of stayed put as an early bird I would of got shipping for $15 and not $40 on super early bird, I cannot figure that one out but I have PM’d Hudly to see if they can work something out, but like what I said to them if I am one of the first off the cab rank I’ll be happy to pay the little extra but $300 in total (AUD) is pricey. As for Hudly being on Indiegogo that’s the norm so I wouldn’t be that concerned
I wonder why they're on Indiegogo to that kind of concerns me a little bit you know cuz that platform has a lot of problems I'm hoping that they'll get ours done first before they get theirs and we should be getting ours in March and there should be later on I believe correct It said on Indiegogo they raised over $280,000 now if you take that and combined it with this $279,000 you get a total 559000 plus dollars that's a lot of money more than most people will see in 20 lifetimes So I wonder what all that money is going to go for now I mean that's a ton a ton of money almost $560,000 made of two promotions I had no idea they were going to do Indiegogo I thought this is just Kickstarter only it seems like there's no comments on the need to go go at all Just a little concerned that's all because I'm not a fan of Indiegogo to be honest I've never had good luck there so yeah hopefully they'll explain it and we'll figure out what's going on anyway okay
No I checked mine it was like 200 and then I got charged like $10 for shipping so the total was like 210 or something like that And I live in the USA so maybe that's why I don't know I live in New Milford Pennsylvania so I don't know
Anyone else been charged 2 seperate charges from KS from the campaign? I’ve been stung twice (separate amounts) why I don’t know perhaps one is the shipping but to me looks like an extra $40 AUD. I suggest backers check their banking records
@Scott: I am NOT proposing a monthly service. No one works for free that's also true. Whatever they indicated in campaign is great and good.
My proposal is more of a premium service. You can take it, if you like or not. Up to you. Whatever by default they give if suits your need: great, then no monthly/yearly fees.
Well I just wanted to say congratulations on a very successful campaign and can't wait to get Hudly I sent you a message for my new address so when you send it out in March you'll have it thank you very much and keep us up today and again congratulations.
Matt Boiteau
What is the amp draw?
Yeah I don't want a monthly fee either Subscription Service I mean I've had enough already so I mean to be honest I'm on disability that I saved up for this so I could buy it so that's why and if I have to pay a monthly fee that would really suck for me and I think a lot of people out there We don't really need another monthly fee Subscription Service I mean there's been too many of those and let's face it they don't even work so yeah please do not have this be a monthly fees or service to where we have to pay a fee every month to get the apps we want I really don't want to go that route I just want to install the device download the app that you recommend for this device use Google Map as well and that's it and use the apps I already have installed on my phone I'm just wondering what is the app called basically for this device is it called the hudly or something else and I have an Android phone so that's why we need to get it for Google Play
I just hope they keep things the way they promised and keep communicating with us that's all and make sure that we get it in March and not delay us Also I am wondering where do you get the app that and what is it called the hudly I know it's a lot of these promotions once it ends pretty much the company seem to forget about us and then we have to keep emailing them just to get info an update so I hope they don't do that to us I don't believe they will to be honest I mean I have more faith in this company is I've ever had in any other item I backed on Kickstarter and to be honest I've been very lucky and you can only back for products and I've gotten off for products at the time they said they would be shipped so I'm hoping the fifth is a charm
Robert Vence
@ Baivab
I hope that the Hudly doesn't go the way of my ( now bricked) Navdy. If a subscription service could prevent that, I think it would be helpful to the community. I have become used to my heads-up display and look forward to receiving my unit in March.
I think the old saying is true basically you know keep it simple and people will buy it more which is very true I mean hudly has created probably one of the best devices I've ever seen when it comes to HUD display. I mean I keep comparing this is something you'd see in a Star Wars movie and to me that's what it looks like because it has that Star Wars feel to it you know and why I like about it is it's really to be honest this thing is just a projector is what it is if you think about it I mean you can watch movies on it which is very cool, you can navigate which is very cool, you can do pretty much anything with it just your imagination and I think that's where it succeeds you know. You can do pretty much anything with it just your imagination and I think that's where it succeeds you know They created an app that has all we need on it they've got GPS, they've got speed and temperature and all that on it, so you know the basic stuff that we need on an app that you'd want you know I don't think you need to add any more things because it's just going to make it more complicated and more annoying The thing about hudly that sets it apart from the others is they care about their customers and they care about their backers their first one that they did on people loved it and they had some comments and they took the comment and they made this. So many people are asking for change this and change that and I'm glad they're saying no because they don't need to you got the perfect device so just leave it alone you know. I mean it's definitely the right size, it's definitely the right shade, and it looks pretty damn cool. You don't need to have all the bells and whistles on device to make it work that's just ridiculous that's why so many cell phones fail because they put so much crap on them when you buy them that by the time you get to put your own apps on if you don't have the space and you have to get rid of them same thing with computers. Computers have so much crap on them that by the time you want to put your stuff on we have to delete half the stuff and it's ridiculous. I mean half stuff on the computer you don't even need which is true The same with this they made an app that has everything on it you need the basic you know stuff you need GPS you know they made that got it right We're at 8 hours and they made $264,000 and that's a lot of money that is a ton of my ass more than I've ever seen in my lifetime I wish And I don't know if CES is over yet or not but I think it may be soon Anyway like I said just keep it the way it is and people will be happy to main thing is communication on this when the projects over Because that's where 90% of these Kickstarter and Indiegogo companies fails they don't update you they take your money and they make you wait weeks and weeks and months and you get pissed off Also don't have a delay had to come out in March like you said you know which I'm pretty sure they will because they've got some of these mad already and they did say they were in production right now so that's good So yeah that's all I can say about it again I'm probably not going to post anymore because there's not much else to say you know just keep it simple like it is don't change a thing
When I try to replay the live stream, I can only see a 2 min video of the camera shaking. Does anyone know if it's possible to view the entire video?
I can see where you're coming from, but as a customer I don't want to be part of another big brother scheme or pay a monthly fee to use a device like that. I think most of the other crowdfunded HUD products failed because they were trying to do too much - gesture recognition, voice recognition, custom navigation apps, driving recommendations, you name it. All I want is for the Hudly team to get one thing right - create a device that can mirror a phone screen on a HUD in the most reliable, elegant and easy way.
Do any of you know how much time and effort it takes to create a good navigation app? Take the maps from OpenStreetMap, use Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm, slap a UI on it and you're done, right? Well Google with their unlimited resources have been improving their apps for nearly a decade now, Garmin, TomTom, Sygic - they all have dozens of developers working on it for many years. I'd rather leave that to them.
Driving pattern analysis? That's a job for a PhD for a year.
My master's thesis was in neural networks and reinforcement learning, so I know what I'm talking about.
I think what could be much more beneficial is creating an ecosystem. Standardize the hardware and software interfaces and let others build add-ons for Hudly. It's essentially an additional screen in the car and can be used for all kinds of data. Being able to cast any phone app is amazing. What is more, there's a huge tinkerer community, so please keep the HDMI port so that they can hook up their Raspberry Pi's and create the next killer hardware gadget. If they succeed, Hudly will sell like hot cakes, the math is simple.
So is 9 hours to go I wonder if we can hit 300,000 that would be pretty incredibly shocking in a good way who knows nine hours we'll find out I'm not sure if the CES is over yet or not in Las Vegas I think it was I'm not positive but anyhow hopefully they'll get back to us after the 9 hours and will get updates within like every I'd be happy it's like every two weeks would be fine for an update you know So yeah that's all I can say right now so 9 hours to go by the way it's 8:58 here in New Milford Pennsylvania and it's raining stand tomorrow we have some snow and ice well at least my car is all nice and shiny and clean that's cool Mother Nature is the best car wash you can possibly imagine She may make your car dirty she may make it snowy she may make it icy but you can also make it clean
My email to Corby: Hi, As an organization servicing consumers I understand the need to launch something every 12 to 18 month time frame. I get that. However, at the same time there should be an opportunity to generate some sort of continuous revenue stream. Contrary to popular notion - GPL licenses initially frowned up but later was embraced by even its staunchest critiques like IBM, etc. Thus - my 1st. recommendation is to dedicate resources who can come up with a very good community supported portal and exposing public APIs. This should occur within few months of product release. Because: developers get excited on something new but that excitement supersedes when something more exciting hits the market. Thus - the need to create an eco-system which engages such developers and furthermore provides "stickiness" so that they remain and continue. As an organization - bringing out new products is good to excellent but its a lot of effort with high risk of success and extreme volatility. Stability is important - important from resource retention perspective, future M&A perspectives. Stability comes from financial stability. Thus - my 2nd. recommendation would be to determine a constant revenue stream. If you re-collect my question: Is there anything that flows back to Hudley when using the App? The answer was an emphatic No. What if - it was Yes, instead? What if - driving dynamics are shared with Hudley - possibly as an AWS service hosted in Amazon cloud? Sufficient privacy concerns are addressed of course. Then using the data collected in conjunction with specific AI methods / machine learning algorithms - what if Hudley initiates recommendation to the driver w.r.t. his driving habits and associated improvements? Provisioning this service to an user - can be a nominal subscription, for example. Let's take it a step forward - many fleets need to utilize tracking service. Hudley, by default may be able to provide that across the entire breath of fleet vehicles. You're introducing OB scanners. What if data from scanners, once uploaded can be engaged in intelligent comparison modelling across cars/models available to consumers/researchers/marketers to review car behavior especially over time? There are many such areas where data collected - analyzed - can be converted into a subscription service effectively bringing stability to your organization. Coupled with my 1st. suggestion - many of these services can be public developer driven initiatives with open source-code.

Looking forward to this so much! Even my wife is excited, and she usually couldn't care less about tech stuff that I buy! :D My birthday is in March so this is the perfect birthday gift to myself. But to get a little serious:
Is it possible to watch a recording of the live stream somewhere? I live in Europe and could unfortunately (and probably understandably) not stay up to watch it live due to working early mornings (at work right now actually, but this is way more exciting!) and I would love to see what you showed. And some more rambling:
A newspaper here in Sweden made a small article where they described a few things for the convention (10 or 11 of them I think), and I sent them an email about You, but they seem like they don't want to make another article. :P And @Scott, glad to see I'm not the only bipolar person here that is getting manically (is that a real word?) excited about this! ;)
OBD2 device: it would be great if it had a port on the other end to attach other OBD2 scanners as pass thru. This way there'll no need to take it off when in a dealership/garage/etc and also can be used to power something else.
Otherwise the need for OBD2 Y-connector surfaces, which does look ugly.
I sent you guys a message concerning my address because even though it shows up on Kickstarter I live in Meshoppen PA I don't live there no more I move to New Milford Pennsylvania so I had to send you an address to make sure that you have my right address on file so when you do ship my items this March you have the right address so please let me know that you got the message thank you And again I can't believe how bright that thing can be good grief it was like I said really hard to hear you with the sound but I can see why because you're dealing with all the electronics there so that's probably why but all in all I got an idea what I'm expecting and I think it's going to be an amazing product and maybe this is the answer you know to stop car accidents never people text me or driving or whatever or not paying attention you know this could save a lot of lives. The main thing to do basically is just keep us up today you know and hopefully you don't have any delays which the way you're talking I don't think you will because you already have so many of these made already and done so that's cool and he just got to work in a Lil Bit of software issues and that's about it but it seems like you're pretty much right on track for March delivery so yeah we can't wait I know I can't I can't speak for nobody else being that I'm bipolar you know what can I say that's the way I am excited for the craziest things Like I said this kind of has that Star Wars feel to it you know and I think that's all I can say and that's pretty much Roundup what I feel so thank you very much and can't wait to the next update and help you all get back to us when this is over in less than 20 hours
Corbin Wyatt
@Scott We love you too, thanks!
Corbin Wyatt
@Lisa Absolutely! If they can do it, we can do it. It's a software thing and we're working towards it. We do offer over-the-air (OTA) updates so that you'll always have a unit that is up to date.
Corbin Wyatt
@Flash Great question! These are things that once you message/private comment we'll fix before we ship for you. KS has a few odd glitches like that.
I meant to say well shipping here in the US not welfare sorry it's hard to type when you can't type on these screens even though I have a 7-inch phone they still use Google voice and it doesn't necessarily pick up what I say sorry about that
Corbin Wyatt
@Roland No solar panel, that would be a cool idea but also much, much more difficult to install & use.
Welfare United States shipping was only less than 9 bucks so I'll stick with what I got because it ships the same time anyway so they're all going to ship in March they said so that's good I think after this convention is over they'll get back to us and let us know more updates good right now they're busy with this convention going on and being at 8 here and I think it is I don't know what time it is in Las Vegas I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure they'll get back to us once this is overit is in Las Vegas I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure they'll get back to us once this is over
@Hudly.... I’ve changed my Pledge from Early Bird to SUPER early bird yet shipping cost is $40 as opposed to $15 on Early Bird. Wouldn’t SUPER early bird be cheaper? A bit deceiving as price for super early bird is cheaper under the list of Pledge choices until that is of course the shipping is added. Why??? Why would shipping be $15 to Australia on early bird yet $40 on SUPER early bird. Can anything be done to fix this? Or would Super early bird be first to receive the product?
Like I said before it was really hard to hear what you were saying so I had to kind of like pay attention probably the audio is bad because of all the Wi-Fi signals there and because there's so much Tech going on you know but from what you've shown I'm pretty excited about it to be honest I think you've answered all your questions and I can't wait to get it I just hope there's no delay in it you know I just hope we get it in March which is 2 months away I'm so thank you for taking the time to do this it shows that you really do care about the community and the backers like who back your product instead of some companies so that is a huge benefit and a huge relief thank you again and I wish you all the best and can't wait to get my hudly just keep us up-to-date if that's all please
It was really hard to hear your audio on your video probably because of all the signals there but I did get the general idea of what you're offering and I'm pretty excited about it I just hope there's no delay when you ship it coming this March he's only 2 months away so yeah
lisa davies
Sorry re sound have looked at Hudway and they have choices for audio streaming - you can set audio to phone, device, bluetooth etc. I REALLY don't want my music going through small speakers when i have an amazing sound system in my car. Really would like the option of keeping CarPlay managing everything else and Hudly just managing my waze navigation. (As I said, with navdy i could juggle both also stream audio via bluetooth. I have already backed you but had i known that this might be an issue i really would not have backed you guys. I'm not sure what you meant by looking into AUX and direct wiring.... would this solve the issue considering my setup?
The audio is really bad you might want to fix it
Anybody else have a frozen screen cuz I can't see nothing but just one picture but no voice no video no nothing
Well I'm at the kickstarter live video and I've got nothing but a frozen screen
lisa davies
hmm not sure whether my comment was posted so repeating - apologies if it gets posted twice. If i connect my iPhone to Apple CarPlay can I still use this for music, phone and texts whilst running waze through Hudly? I had a Navdy (now a brick) and ran the Navdy app in the background whilst using CarPlay for all else.
Well don't forget to subscribe and sign up to the live event today at 7 p.m. Eastern at the CES where they're going to show exactly what they did and what the hudly looks like in person and what it all does you can also ask questions just described on the link below this is our chance to finally give our opinion and Views about this product that we're back in I think this is an amazing idea and it's really proved his company does care a lot more about us than most people would have thought was truly is great because it shows that there is more faith in the company than most people would have ever thought
Kane Keith
How to order the OBD bluetooth device?
@Roland Tan..... Great idea because in a sunny place like here in Australia it would be a very handy option but that’ll only delay production and I’d like mine to arrive this year.
Roland Tan
Does it comes with solar panel instead of tapping to the car?
I did a search on YouTube for the CES and found a lot of interesting products and was hoping I would find yours but I didn't anyhow I do have a suggestion. Since we're all back in this product maybe instead of releasing the next one which would be next year maybe just update this one so where you can add more things to it you know like a wireless back-up camera you know Auto detection Collision sensors like that even a camera that you can mount on your you know top of your car that gets you the full 360-degree view like to have no more expensive cars. You know ones like that. I mean I drive a 2001 Ford Focus z23 and yes it's an older car okay it's 17 years old but I take very good care of it and even though it has 142,000 miles on it it still runs perfectly I know a lot of us today we don't buy cars like we do we did back then because they're a lot more expensive and well let's face it the economy is not so great especially when you're on disability. And a lot of companies always release a new product every year time and time again and I'm thinking it may be because you got this product the way we all wanted it you could just add new features to it instead of releasing a new product next year that will make this product obsolete just an idea you know. There's Endless Possibilities what you can do with your products here all you need is a right Hardware software and you're fine you really don't need to make another product because there's an old saying true why fix something that's not broken. And I feel that you created the most perfect, was economical, most affordable, HUD that I've ever seen yet. So that's my suggestion hopefully when the campaign ends in about 40 some hours you'll get back to us and keep us up-to-date on what's going on and maybe even have a video of CES showing it in live action I think that's what we all like to see anyway thanks for listening and can't wait for more updates and can't wait to get it this March
Corbin Wyatt
Nope, no tracking of data. Email me directly at if you wouldn't mind, I would love to hear your ideas! Same goes for any Hudly Community Member. If you want to reach out to me with thoughts on anything I'm here to listen to them and then add them to our list of things. Unless they're utterly ridiculous. I have to include that after someone asked if we could add a cheese whiz dispenser. 1) Yes, testing 20 units across the country (a few international) in extreme conditions with different uses. Holding up perfectly.
2) You don't need to open and close the glass every time because it can stay open unless you're moving it out of your car. It is manual, though. I'm digging these suggestions! Shoot me that email and let's start talking more about it.
Suggestion #2 : Try to accommodate a second connectivity point in main device. This might be used/required in the future to connect peripheral devices like a dash cam, speakers, wireless access point, cell - SIM based hot spot, etc. etc. As and when your organization matures you'll be able to come up with new accessories and not all may be able to connect wireless due to network/protocol limitations.
Is there any data sent back to Hudly servers/etc. via the smart phone, if for example the Hudly sponsored app is being used or otherwise? I have successfully worked across 3 KS campaigns w.r.t. the design/development and future road map across 3 distinct products. I have some ideas which will set Hudly apart from ANY competition but it'll be best if discussed via a phone call. I will drop a message with my contact information. Please feel free to reach out to me.
BTW: I'd prefer seeing a different mount availability for Hudly. Usually the space in front of the driver considering the ODO/speedo/etc. takes up a big chunk is rather limited. I'd recommend strongly something like the "Garmin Friction Mount". It's flexible, adaptive and has strong adhesion.
Next, for the mirror itself I have 3 recommendations:
1. A sun shade which will also act as a buffer preventing reflections in the actual windshield.
2. A hard cover for the entire Hudly.
3. Innovative locking mechanism. Otherwise, break window - grab and go will happen. $199 and when @ Market as you're suggesting $349 just begs to be stolen. Question: Are you performing test cycles ensuring Hudly holds up on high heat? Summers @ dashboard @ parked outside in open sun is brutal. Question: This remain un-answered: do I need to manually open/close the glass every time or it's automated? If there's incoming power glass flips open, when power's lost, flips down to close?
