I like your team's Ra.lantern very much. If Ra.lantern is complete, is it possible to buy it personally?

Yes. Unfortunate this didn't make it. As I said in my comments, I think that if the campaign was targeted a little differently that it would make a big difference. Please keep us in the loop as you take this forward.

I've been doing a lot of camping lately and this is a godsend. I've been in need of a lantern and a form of off grid gps for myself, but the gps and tracking is beyond what I was looking for and I'm grateful for it. Love the idea! Hope it becomes fully funded and your product works as perfectly as you want it to be! Really looking forward to this.

1. When both panels are plugged in. the whole Ra. Lantern provides up to 500 lumens. Each side of the base runs for up to 10 hours in high lamp mode, 50 hours for the low lamp mode. 2. When you detach 2 panels to use, for each detachable panel, it shines up to 250 lumens and runs up to 2 hours in high lamp mode, or 150 lumens for 10 hours in the low mode. For the base station, it provides up to 500 lumens for 10 hours of high lamp mode, or 300 lumens for 50 hours of low lamp mode. @tpanda
Thanks so much for your question. When we come to mass production, the radio frequencies of Ra.Lantern will be regulated according to different regions. Right now, in regarding to rf 433 modules, they acting as general mode for the development stage. It is our first step now and we keep working hard on the hardware development. Again, thanks so much for your great comments and we hear you! Please stay tuned.

1. Lantern and the detachable panels can share their positions to each other within the range. Hence you can use Ra. App to monitor all GPS location of your teammates in a map.
2. When you only turn off the LED lights, Lantern and the detachable panels are still in the data transfer mode and you can keep tracking the GPS information. However, when you shut down Lantern and panels, the data cannot be transferred.
3. The range is 1 mile.
4. Sure, the data will be stored in Ra. App.

1. Can we share the positions of 3 lanterns on 1 map on the internet? 2. Can we turn off the lantern put it to a backpack and use for monitoring only? 3. what is the range of 433 units? 4. Can we somehow store and share nmea data from 3 lanterns?
Review from Kickstarter
Good day,
Can you give more information on the LPD433 modules you are using (power)? Have you tried in a forest and clear line of sight, what are the ranges? As you advertise it as a emergency product you don't want to give a false safety feeling to your users: being extremely clear would be better for everyone (and probably avoid legal issue down the road).
Also it seems the LPD433 frequencies can only be used unlicensed in Europe (with very limited power in UK?), in the US you need a HAM radio license to emit on these frequencies. Can you confirm?

Is the brightness same (500 lumens) for base station + 2 detachable units?
What are the brightness modes and battery life for each unit?
