I didn't buy any noise cancelling earbuds, because I assumed they are coming soon (as some already got them). There is construction work going on at the other office, so I (would have needed/ need) them now. I'm kicking myself of being so trustworthy and falling for their lies again

I want me earbuds just so I can forget thinking about this crap. Already went through 3 pairs of headphones between ordering these, waiting and now.
Very very sad. I hope the owners got NOTHING for selling the company.

Anyone have any tip on how to best mould these? I've moulded 2 tip so far and don't feel like I've gotten a good seal on both. Thinking I should press down on the top hook bit while moulding to help flatten it so that it'll properly hold in place maybe? Pressing in too hard during moulding seems to be a bad idea too..

I got a response from Revols and thought I would share: For anyone that is getting a request for a pin when connecting Bluetooth try ‘0000’ (Which should be the pin that you should try whenever you connect a device and aren’t expecting a pin to be entered). @Steph:
I’m actually getting a little bit of pain from the top of the molding tips too when I use the large size. The way my ears are I don’t think they would ‘fold over’ any sized tip, just the shape that they are, and because of this it’s a bit uncomfortable. That’s also the bit that I have the most trouble getting in right (because my ears don’t fold over the tip so I don’t know if they are in all the way and end up fussing with them)

i got mine today. I have to agree with some other comments that the fit is too tight and that it kind of hurts my outer ear canal and cartilage. But is it just me or is one side (my left Revols) producing “more” (not louder) sound than then right one? It’s kind of annoying, because, of course, the sound does not sound balanced. kind of annoying. I give these a full day to test..... let’s see.

Received mine last week. Connecting and molding went smoothly, but I have to agree with most of the other post. In addition to being incredibly large, the sound really isn't good. The highs are tinny, and there's no bass what so ever. Even if I use the equalizer provided in the app with the bass all the way up, there's still not enough. I find that if I use just the EQ settings under music (on IPhone), and select bass boost, that sounds the best. Although these probably aren't the worst sounding headphones out there, I'll be using my Bose Sound Sport Free truly wireless ones (they sound great), and will probably only use these when I travel to places where if I lose them, so be it. Pretty disappointed after all the delays.

I got this response: Thank you for getting in touch. We are still in the midst of mass producing and shipping orders out simultaneously. There are several factors that determine when and order will ship, including wether we have available stock of all items in the order. We are showing that you added a Black Revive to your order which we currently do not have stock of, but hope to have within the next few weeks. We are not able to provide exact dates for when individual orders will ship. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a notification with a tracking link.

Received my Revols a few days ago. I had high hopes, but I'm a bit let down. They have both positive and negative attributes. There is one problem, though, that overrides everything else and is likely going to lead me to put these on eBay for cheap to be rid of them: they hurt my ears after just an hour or two of use. Not the ear drums, but the outer ear canal and the cartilage of the outer ear. Even using the small size tips, they are such a tight fit that they press outward in every direction, and this causes a persistent ache. I had hoped I would develop some tolerance to it, but I actually noticed that after taking them out one day and feeling that pain, the pain would return immediately upon insertion the next day. Essentially, the sensitivity was still there, but I wasn't feeling any pain if nothing was touching those spots. (I have the Amazon page for the Jabra Elite 65t fully wireless earbuds open right now based on a number of positive reviews from reliable sources, and am about to hit the "Add to Cart" button.) Another issue I have is that while the Soundscapes are quite handy in many situations, I mostly bought these to use in my office. I was hoping to listen to music & also hear when a co-worker wanted to chat. But if I turn on the Soundscapes in the office, they seem to pick up some sort of interference that causes a constant, low volume, very high pitched whine that's quite distracting when listening to music. The flip side of this- the noise isolation is pretty good. The custom molded tips definitely do that quite well. The sound that filters in with the Soundscapes active is a little tinny, but that doesn't bother me. Aside from the whine at the office, this is a great feature, and I cannot blame the dev team for some unknown interference in my office, which is in a building full of Telecom equipment. As noted by some others, the setup instructions are missing an important detail- when you press the Play/Pause/Power button & hold it down, it begins to flash blue as indicated before it is actually in pairing mode. You have to wait another 1-2 seconds for the flashing to speed up. Took me more than a few tries to discover this on my own, and by that point, I had already put them down in frustration & gone back to them later. Once I discovered this, they paired quite easily to multiple devices. The EQ feature works quite nicely, and I am very glad that you can create your own presets, but also thankful that they had a few built-in presets to get you started. But the EQ has confused me a bit so far. I was watching HBO GO on my tablet at work (Hey, don't judge... you don't know what I do for a living, lol) and noticed that it sounded really weak & thin... tinny. I had already adjusted the EQ to something close to my preference while listening to music on my phone. So I downloaded the Revols app to my tablet & tinkered with the EQ, and things sounded much better. This made me think that maybe the EQ was completely baked into the app, as though it was pre-processing the outgoing audio when active, but not so when closed. But I just did some testing on my phone by starting & closing the app, and the sound does not seem to change. Maybe the app still runs in the background to support the EQ? Not certain. While the default sound is a little thin, I had no problem finding a great balance for various types of music and audio using the EQ. (I commonly listen to mostly classic rock & hair metal, but I purposely fired up some folk, classical, and even some rap/hip-hop, as well as YouTube, HBO GO, and some podcasts) Of course, I knew going in that the charging system would be proprietary. But man, when you get into using the Revive battery pack, then charging both the buds & the pack, it's a tad cumbersome. For future iterations, I'd love to see the devs work out a way to just use USB-C for everything so users don't need to haul around the proprietary cables. I am wearing the Revols now, just so I can try to think of everything, and they sound fantastic. They've been in my ears for 5 minutes, and the pain is already apparent. Nothing from the sound levels- all from the fit. Oh, and I must say, they get LOUD at high volume. This is a HUGE PLUS for me. I hate wearing earbuds that top out somewhere around "OK for the office, but you're screwed outside." These suckers pack some punch. I will always prefer earbuds that CAN get too loud, because I can always dial the volume DOWN. If they top out too soon, you're just humped.

@Allen Polikoff it's not the in ear canal portion of the headphone that hurts, it's the part that slips behind the cartilage on the outside of the ear. I actually had to stop using them yesterday because it was too painful to put them back in. I'm hoping the XS helps, or my ears just get used to it. Today they're not hurting so I was able to use them again, but they are still too large and take a lot of effort to get tucked in - so I never want to take them out to talk to someone haha Unfortunately it's not usually quiet enough around where I am sitting to let me really test the frequency range, but I'll try later when a bunch of people go home and see what I can hear. Update: While I was writing this comment, Revols sent me an email about why I'm asking for smaller tips. So now I have to explain what the problem is. Wheee.

As several others have noticed, I also just discovered that I had to pay $44 in taxes.
This for living in EU. This REALLY hurts. But of cause it is my fault. I should have thought about that earlier. Well, the tech is not that good anymore and I have invested in two other bluetooth headphones while waiting. So I won't spend one more dollar on this. Although it hurts not being able to experience the product after waiting for so long. Wish you all the best (Revols and backers).

Shipping continues... Posted by Revols (Creator) Hey Backers,
Throughout the past few weeks, we have been continuing to simultaneously mass produce and ship out units to all of our Kickstarter backers. Here’s a recap of what’s been going on:
Mass Production & Shipping
We have now produced over 4,000 earphones and have delivered to almost 2,500 backers. This week we will be shipping out to another batch of backers and will continue to send out notification emails with the associated tracking numbers as we ship.
The expected manufacturing yield has been slightly less than anticipated and so it is taking us a bit more time than expected to ship out all of the orders. We now anticipate that all orders will be shipped by the beginning of June. We apologize for this slight delay but want to reassure you that mass production is still ongoing and we will be delivering your units as soon as possible. Again, many of you are requesting specific delivery dates however we cannot provide this information at this time.
Support
As a reminder, we have created a Support page that includes help on order-related questions, getting started with your Revols and troubleshooting any issues you may encounter. For any tech support that is not listed on this page, we encourage you to reach out to support@revols.com. We would like to highlight a few recurring issues and/or questions that we have noticed over the last few weeks.
Pairing your Revols to your device
Many backers have reached out describing their inability to properly pair their Revols to their device. You may either notice this when trying to pass the Bluetooth connection step in the app’s customization process and/or if you do not hear sound playing through your Revols when you get to the sound test page. Revols actually requires two separate pairings to take place (one through your phone's bluetooth settings and one directly through the app). You are instructed to hold down the middle button of the inline control box for 5 seconds until you see a flashing blue light. Please note that during this process you will first see the light slowly flash blue, followed by fast flashing. Only once this fast flashing begins can both pairings take place. For additional details on this, please check out this page. Additionally, this video shows the transition from the slow flashing blue light to the fast flashing blue light - the latter is to indicate that you are in pairing/discovery mode and you should now be able to pair properly.
Extra small tips inquiry
We noticed that some people are reaching out to inquire about the extra small tips. Before doing so, we recommend that you wait to receive your Revols so that you can try on both sizes that are included. We are unable to send a pair of extra small tips with your order; it will have to be requested post-delivery and shipped out to you only then.
Faulty earphone connectors
There are some backers who are having difficulty proceeding with the customization process because their molding tips are not connecting properly. If you feel as though your molding tips are constantly disconnecting from your Revols, please reach out to support@revols.com and we will help isolate the issue and replace the necessary component under warranty.
Revols App
Once again we want to remind everyone to prepare for their delivery in advance. Please download the Revols app on your Android or iPhone. This is the first step when receiving your package, so it would be beneficial to get a head start.
We will continue to read your comments on the wall and reach out when necessary. For quick and effective support, reach out to support@revols.com and provide as much information as you can on your specific issue.
We acknowledge how patient you have been and we truly appreciate it. We are almost halfway through delivering to all of our Kickstarter backers and we are happy to hear that so many of you are enjoying your Revols!
Have a great rest of your week!

@Alex - oh my bad, that does sound like an issue. You should specify that when you contact Revols (if you haven’t already). Maybe they think you just didn’t hold down play long enough. Regarding soundscape on iPhone:
It is working fine for me as well. There is a tiny bit of a delay (good thing they used analog mics for that) and the sound is higher pitched than in reality, but it works. Only complaint about that feature is the % I want is very music-volume dependent. If you only want a bit of sound to bleed over and you raise the volume you would need to raise the sound scape % as well. Not a big deal, but something to note. Regarding the overall audio quality:
I’m still trying them out, but so far they seem like pretty decent headphones. I haven’t heard a $200+ pair in a very long while so I would like to go try some out to compare. But thus far it’s pretty good. Can hear instruments that I haven’t heard before on tracks when using my AirPods which is always a good sign.
The revols signature EQ setting is pretty nice, I think. It boosts the low and high freqs and keeps the middle essentially flat, which is basically like lowering the mids. When doing the frequency test it seems like the volume is consistent throughout the freq range so this EQ makes sense. You naturally hear the middle portion of the frequency spectrum louder than the rest, that’s just how our hearing operates. So the EQ, in my mind at least, evens that out. I haven’t had a bad experience with the tips yet (just started to use them during activities) so I don’t know what a bad seal would sound like, but it could definitely effect the overall performance. It is a bit annoying getting them in properly every time. And depending on how the tip has pressure applied to it sometimes mine give off a bit of a pop which makes me think the seal got broken. So I’m just left with trying to see if the sound I’m hearing (I hear an occasional bit of tingly-ness) is the audio track quality, my hearing or the headphones themselves. Also I’m getting a feel for them when active which opens up a whole different ball game. Since there is a lot of surface area/contact it seems like sweat can cause potentially serious issues. Especially with the weight of the cord tugging at them (clips need to be used!).
But definitely not worse than $100 headphones at the moment (not that that is great news, but it’s a start). And I need to see how soundscape effects battery life of phone and headphones.
Allen Polikoff
Review from Kickstarter
@steph I thought it probably was my hearing. And ditto with the binaural test - freaked me out the first time ha. What about the frequency spread? If you set it to the lowest volume you can hear is there a gap for you somewhere in the middle?
That probably is also my hearing (I don’t really know how that works. I figured if I can hear a frequency I would be able to hear it regardless of volume, especially in the mid range). I am surprised I only start hearing at 17khz though. I didnt think my hearing was that bad. I’ll have to try with my klipsch monitors. Also - I had the same issue with the small earpiece. However, then I looked at the earpiece as a whole and only the in-ear canal bit was especially different than the rest of it before the molding process. So I tried the large size and it is wayyyy more comfortable. My guess is that the large doesn’t go in as far, so it doesn’t hurt as much, but it goes in far enough to make a seal.
Also the rest of the tip had some slight changes, but nothing too crazy. Maybe try the larger tip size and see how it feels?

Received my blk/grn Revols. The large are ridiculously too big. Unless I have really small ears. I cannot even get them in. The small are just a bit too big, emailed support for a set of XS hopefully I’ll get them. Paired to my iPhone X easy enough thanks to previous comments about hold down play button for 5 seconds. Sound is good, fit is ok. Hopefully better when/if I get the XS tips. Only real complaint I have is the weight is lopsided to the right side causing the cord to constantly pull to that side. Hopefully I can fix that with the clips. All in all, not sure if they’re worth $200, but they’re not that bad.

Review from Kickstarter
Been using the earphones all morning at work. While one of the tips is still too large, I have to say that I disagree with a lot of the criticism related to the product. The Soundscape function works pretty well. Yes, there is a slight delay or echo, but I do not have any other headphones with this feature and for in-ear phones it's a pain to take them in and out to talk to people. Soundscape works well enough. Also, the quality of the sound is fine. The key is getting the right fit and then using the equalizer in the Revols app. I'm using their pre-defined "extended" equalizer setting and with the earphones properly inserted, they sound great. There are all of the other issues around the proprietary charging and the heavy battery pack - those make sense, but are also understandable given the crazy build and design cycle that they went through on this. No doubt it would have been much better to use USB mini as the connector but the earphones without the battery attached have a very long life and I view the external battery pack more as a throw in. Most earphones do not come with additional battery packs. I don't think these are the best headphones I've ever used, and there are things about it that could be much improved, but overall we backed it for the form fit and they mostly accomplished that and the sound works and the bluetooth works, etc. They delivered.

Got the earphones today. White/silver. They are fine. Sound is fine. Yes they are large. That’s what happens after three years though. The design of earphones has gotten smaller while these have been in dev for three years. But I’m ok with that. One of the ears is too large even with the small tips. I’ve asked for extra small like others and hope that they ship without additional cost as these are very good headphones but as others have said - at $200+ they are quite expensive even with the moldabke tips. I backed them for the tips and I must say that I’m impressed with that process and believe they Logitech will use them mainstream shortly bc it’s a great concept
