ROOME is a smart lamp designed for convenience. It is a truly intuitive lamp, one that lights up automatically through motion detection. It uses the latest in motion-sensor technology, and turn on or off depending on whether it is needed. ROOME turns on automatically when it senses you enter the room, and it turns off when there`s no movement detected in the room. Keeping the nightlight on is not energy-saving, but fumble the lamp switcher in the dark can be trouble. ROOME offers a better way! Like you, we were tired of having lamps that were turned on or off with a switch or a button, or even a chain. All of that was so outdated, so we thought, isn’t there a better, more convenient, techy way to switch a lamp on or off? Now, control the lamp with your force ;). Dim the Light when your hand move vertically.

2 lamps...neither work. Multiple install and uninstall of software. Multiple manufacturer resets. Randomly turns on and off in middle of the night. Motion sensor does not work when I walk right by, but turns on from 15 feet away when I'm sleeping. I give up.
NERO app is also now available in the play store... search "roome"... Includes a firmware update..

I am very pleased to let everyone know that 6 months after reporting a problem with my original Roome lamp and no response, I contacted Roome by e-mail and they go back to me right away. I heard from Roger, CEO of HOMI, Chris, head of Roome UK Operations and Gavin, who implemented a replacement lamp. They were all very concerned and promptly took action to solve my problem. My new lamp arrived right away and works beautifully. Thanks for the outstanding customer service.

My 2 lamps have been working great since I got them. Occasionally they will freak out, not often, and unplugging and replugging in fixes it. I do not consider this a scam at all.

PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR LAMP I have been contacted by the guys who have invented the light and they have sorted out and helped me get the Roome to work successfully. Unfortunately, they can't contacted anyone on here because someone else has taken the page. I tweeted the problem I had with my lamp and that's how they got in contact with me. Please contact them on this email and they can help sort out the problems you have with your lamp, The guys are really helpful and they asked me to give you their contact email so they can help you as well.
Kickstarter doesn't care... they have their cut...

It looks like they did the same on indiegogo. The Lamps are also available to buy on amazon. What a con - once I get the rest of my orders on my other pledges I won't be doing any more. That's it, I thought it was a great way to get products that could help with me and my MS but not when my money is taken and I don't get the product I've paid for :-(

Tell everyone you know, not to use Kickstarter. Make the pledge to pledge no more. This is the second project I have been ripped off by. Kickstarter's attitude is "Fraud you say? Oh, dear, how awful. Nothing we can do."

Received a broken lamp that was returned and wrote an email to clarify on that matter but yet to hear from them. Reading the many comments here, I guess I can forget it now. Simce Kickstarter is not accountable, I will no longer support any new innovations in 2017 as this is NOT my only issue with them......

The guy didn't connect to his kickstarter account since the 23rd of November. He is maybe in jail ;-).
No news about:
- the plugs,
- the app in play store
- the zigbee control
Still no update of any delivery for the correct type of plugs.
@Paula... Yes unfortunately it's unscrupulous hit and run artists like this lot that will be the downfall of Kickstarter... They don't care as they all have our money now...

I received a lamp that doesn't work, i think these are another lot of cowboys taking money off people and giving them sweet FA !! What a shame its a fantastic idea, i have MS and having a light that i could turn on with easily would have been a life saver

Never received the promised replacement AC adapter, guess I'm "lucky" to at least have received the lamp. Also very disappointed with Kickstarter's own behaviour in this case. How can crooks get away with this type of fraud, on their watch. Just cancelled another pledge, and I think I'll wait for the product to be available commercially / publicly. :(

In all seriousness guys... Is there any recourse when it comes to kickstarter projects gone wrong? They asked for a survey to be completed to replace the incorrect plugs... My Roome is not fit for purpose... They have gone silent... What can we do?
...i'm guessing from the total lack of response etc on here and Indiegogo that these boys have taken to their horses and rode off into the sunset... never to be seen again...! looks like the lucky ones are stuck with a "not very" smart lamp with the wrong plug...

The light comes on randomly, the app doesn't respond appropriately, the commands are not clear within the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times hoping it'd correct it. Now I just unplug it to turn it off which defeats the purpose of the "handsfree" smart nature of it. TOTAL FAIL.
My light is possessed by the children of the corn. It flashes uncontrollably and no amount of evangelical arm waving will stop it. Freaked the dog and wife out. Worried about the dog.
I don't think these guys care... its been over 3 weeks since they even bothered to login...?

i wrote support , never got answer
as longer its plugged my Roome lamp acts more weared
latest malfunction.... when i swiped myhand over to close
it came instead full bright in my movement , than normal
only unplugin solved it.
had other similar bugs before, where i simply couldnt switch it of by movement.
is there an update on the way?

i need your help / support for the Roome lamp. Is it possible to connect the lamp with a zigbee base station like the new Philips Hue Model? I want to use the Philips App and other zigbee compatible controls to start the Roome lamp and change the brightness. Is this possible? In the description you say, that the lamp uses the zigbee protocol to control the Roome lamp.

...these guys are about as communicative as a brick!... hopefully they're sending out the correct plug types to those of us who were sent the wrong one... i still don't see any roome app on play? therefore i guess no updates? .... but who knows...?

PLEASE HELP Has anyone had a response from them regarding lights that don't work. I can connect to the lamp from my phone but the lights don't come on when I tap it 5 times. The box was squashed when I received it so I'm thinking that something inside has been broken. This is an amazing product and I thought it would be ideal for me as I have MS and often wake up during the night. I wish they would make contact about the lights that don't work as they have about the wrong plug being sent out.

Paul I seem to be having the same problem but in my case I have 2 lamps but I can only get one to connect. I can reset them and still get them them to show up but only one connects (and I have gotten both to connect) at a time. Not sure I can correct the problem and it needs app support to get it fixed.
Given the recent press about domestic appliances being used as bot neck (if this is the correct term), should be wary that this device might be hacked? I cannot get my device connected to wireless in any case. I am waiting for the correct plug to arrive just in case it is a voltage thing. I have 2 lamps and neither will connect. Are there any tricks out there? I could consider myself computer literate and have followed the instructions many times. Regards Paul

Hello, I have not received my 2 Roome units. Please can I have an update on their whereabouts, and outline whether this is coming with a UK plug or will I be receiving a Australian plug as noted by other backers below - if Australian then you will need to arrange separate shipping of UK plugs. @Jenifer Maleficent Bement... have you tried turning off all the auto options in the app? This should make the lamp controllable from gestures only ie on/off swipe and lift up/down for intensity...?

The Lamp is fine so far, Truth: I love it... and also hate it!
I like the gimmick to wave with your hands and the light is nice to read.
Also it nerves like hell that it switches off by itself when I dont like
and switch on by itself when I dont like (for example when I sleep and just move a bit) This needs a solution for a 'AutoMode" and a "Manual Mode"
When I like to use it as a normal Lamp, than it should just stay ON or OFF as I wish.
And only when I put it at an Area where I need an Automatic Lamp it makes this ON/OFF automatically.
Can u do an Update? Is there anything on your List?
Otherwise I will hardly use it anymore or have to plug it off by Night so it does not always goes on and wakes me up. thanks

It's me again - I NEED HELP!
Support Mail ( doesn't work. No reaction on the last comment yet. My Roome doesn't work at all! It doesn't show ANY reaction. Although it is powered, there is no light, USB doesn't work, Wi-Fi connection has failed (2.4 GHz, passcode correct), no knocking effects, NOTHING :-(
What can I do to run the lamp?
