The Moog Matriarch Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer was created to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Moogfest. It resembles another synthesizer in the Moog family: the Grandmother. The Matriarch has a similar retro vibe. It has vintage inspired shades of yellow, blue, green and purple to give it that retro feel. This synthesizer is completely analog and has 49 keys. It also has an arpeggiator and 256-step sequencer, just like the Grandmother. However, the Matriarch has four analog oscillators, while the Grandmother has only two. With the Matriarch, you have innumerable patching options. So you can basically make any type of music you like. And only 250 Matriarch synthesizers were made, so though these aren’t cheap, they’re special. You’ll appreciate the nearly infinite number of ways you can combine sounds to create the perfect harmony.
