@brian i backed the ss version. i am thinking pure glass or rosewood... hard to decide
Hey backers, could you share on your color choice? I'm having a hard time deciding among all of them lol.
Andrew Wei
@Leo Wings, Ahhh I see haha I was also thinking along the same lines of Lars, and considering waiting for the better device haha
Leo Wings
@Andrew Wei @Lars Dreisow - My “winking face ;)” at the end, means I was being a little bit of a smart ass. They will (and already) have collected our feedback (wish list) and in a year or two will definitely release an up date or a higher range like a Fiio X7II competitor. That’s just successful business. The AP200 is a fantastic little DAP and no reason not to back it and if it’s successful, I’m sure a lot of people including myself would come back the when next Hidizs DAP comes out in a few years. I was backer number 11; I was excited back then, and even more so now to get my AP200.
Lars Dreisow
So @Leo Wings should we all buy this DAP now and another one for 400-500$ in year because the new one is much better then? Im tempted to quit ap200 backing (as a first day backer) and wait a year for the device i really want to have.
Lars Dreisow
@Mark Hidizs said on 14th july "Yes, AP200 supports USB OTG, you also can connect it with flash driver for additional storage"
And yes i know the difference between ROM and RAM and i want more RAM from day 1 since i know my phone with its 3gb of RAM is really working on its limits like all my last smartphones.
And for the sd card they said on 20th july: "The SD card Slot can support up to 256GB!"
Andrew Wei
@Leo Wings, how do you know that they will release that next year, or are you just guessing?
@Bob S You could still use Hiby music APP play music without login. No worries,
@Jeff Wiesneski The silver Aluminum model may looks similar with SS version, but the weight is much lesser than SS version. On the other hand SS version is solider than the Aluminum model
Mark Whitehead
Hey @Lars, is OTG a function of USB C ?? or is it supported by USB 2.0 which the AP200 has as the usb c hardware port is used for usb 2 not 3 or 3.1?
Also do you know the difference between RAM and ROM as you didn't in your first post.
Hidizs has already stated device is for a max of 256gb, but didn't say if this is a 256gb sd card or 256gb in total, so 2tb is pye in the sky unless OTG is supported.
Paul Hackett
@Bob S. As far as I know from trying Hiby on my phone that login is optional.
Kevin Chan
@lars yes, u are right. aptx or usb3.0, and etc. are more important. i just suggest based on they claim that all hardware is certified and cant be changed. but of course, if those thing can still be upgraded, of course should go for that first
Lars Dreisow
@ kevin chan A micro sd with 128gb or 256gb is like 50€ to 120€(sorry for the €) and with usb otg you can put a ssd with up to 2tb on the device but you cant upgrade any hardware like RAM or aptx hd suport or bluetooth 5 these things are firm... And this device is now at a tech level of a midrange smartphone 4 to 5 years ago...
Bob S.
The campaign photo under the "Two operating modes" headline shows on the "Hiby Pure Music Mode" screen a prominent "User login" button. Is a user account optional to use Hiby Pure Music Mode? This is a deal breaker for me... I do not want to have to create an account or be logged in to use my device. Thanks for any clarification.
Anand Varma
Yeah that's right I guess.
Things like inclusion of a good earphone or discount on it would be a good one I guess. Another thing that can be considered is a later version of Android as a firmware update.
Kevin Chan
Yes, I agree @Marcus said. Since I bought CD and use in .wav format. Memory is really a big concern for me, so a upgrade of 128version with a 128sd would be nice
Leo Wings
Hidizs have said all hardware has been certified. So no use asking for hardware changes in stretch goals. Next years Hidizs AP300 with Bluetooth 4.3, apxHD, RK3399 SoC, 2GB RAM, USB3.1, duel MicroSD support, Balance output... this is the one to look out for ;)
Anand Varma
I also feel the same way as @Lars Dreisow.
Would be better if we can have aptx hd or more ram.
Lars Dreisow
@creator you should really consider a bigger stretch goal.. its ok if you delay shipping if we get a better product at the end!
And @all stop complaining about appearance or ROM just ask for thing that cant be changed like usb3 more ram or aptx hd... if they can get something of this that would be an outstanding reason for the player
Marcus Schell
@mark whitehead +1...
@tom... That's another buying option at paying more per gig than everyone else.. I'm saying since we are paying a premium.. Paying a premium price isn't a "upgrade for everyone"
These FLAC files I own are up to a gig per album.. I'm going to need all the space I can get., thus the 128 version plus an option to go to 256 gig SD card.
Ankit Khaitan
@hidizs when u gonna anounce next updates
"New version (with 128GB)"
@Mark lol dude, they added 128gb during that announcement. Thats why no upgrade for 128.
Mark Whitehead
As @Marcus Schell said a day or so ago 'So.. If every level gets an upgrade.. What is the upgrade for the 128gb version? I'm curious as I am already a backer.' I also backed the 128gb and don't see any upgrade for us.
There is no point in offering a streaming subscription like @fat benjamin suggested as most people who pledge will either already have one or like me don't want one as i'm a dinosaur and prefer hard copy of all my music be it digital or analogue (Vinyl).
A 256gb upgrade now your'e talking, but instead good quality class 10 sd cards are OK.
@Jeff all SS ones are natural finish, Ali ones are anodised hence the colours, also anodising can be a harder coating like on my knock hand coffee grinder to protect it and stop the majority of scratches.
If the transfer speeds are 2.0 i am not going to get the 64gb. I rather get the 32 save some money and grab my 3.0 card reader and send my songs to the card.
+1 on stretch goal of getting USB 3.0 or 3.1
LaByron Mosley
@Everybody, check out, KZ ZS5 Quad Driver Headphones. I just went after the fundamentals of drivers that's dedicated to a range of audio frequencies. Tweeter= highs, mids=voices, and dynamic driver=bass, the extra driver is a bonus!! These are great on the go buds. Night and day difference with the cheap generic buds I had. Folks, one driver cannot possibly do everything what separate drivers can do. Ear inserts play a role, though. Amazing that multiple driver headphones are starting to come out at a decent price. No, I'm not a paid spokesperson.
Jeff Wiesneski
Just wanted to poke you guys a little about those comparison photos you said you'd try to get in the next updates. I have the Aluminum model pledged to right now and it'd be nice to see if the SS version is nice enough visually to warrant the upgrade while there are still units available. I've been switching back and forth on it the last few days because I can't decide based on current pictures, partially because I can't tell in some of the pictures if they're the Aluminum or SS version.
fat benjamin
How about some kind of free trial subscription to say Tidal or Spotify as a stretch goal. It would build business partnerships and highlight the fact that you can use 3rd party apps on the AP200. Or maybe offer a discount with a high quality headphone company like AIAIAI!?
David Communi
Hi, as a potential stretchgoal and assuming that you can't change anything anymore at the hardware level, I should say that providing 128 or 256 gb microsd cards at a discounted price would be convenient. Thanks.
Ankit Khaitan
as far as stretch goal is concerned ..if u people can provide us with "superior" earphones then its well good but dont provide mediocre earphones as a stretch goal.. u can also provide with free leather case for all designs .. or you people can also give free sd cards.. like a 32 gb sd cards to everyone ..irrespective of the pledge amount .. i think the people really gonna love the sd cards.
Ankit Khaitan
please clear the clouds on usb ... thing ..if it is usb c then it shud be usb 3.0 but rockchip in ur dap supports usb 2.0 so how usb c gonna help us ..if there is no usb 3.0
@Rob We will show you the case picture in next update
@xpakrikx @Ankit Khaitan @Mark Whitehead Internally we’re still looking for a stretch goal that will not delay the shipping time. If you have any suggestions feel free to send us a message.
Mark Whitehead
Also USB C charging is Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0 or 3.1 available for charging ??
What is the charge rate for the battery??
My BB keyone with QC 3.0 is very quick have you got these circuits in your design??
Leo Wings
@Hidizs - If it’s using USB 2.0 mode, then your campaign details are a little disingenuous? - Quote - “The AP200 utilizes USB Type-C, the most up-to-date USB connection type, for faster data transfer and charging speeds.”
Mark Whitehead
OPPS! wrong there goes another HK$ 1870 to the total, may yet make 2 million +
Mark Whitehead
@Xpakrikx, your assumption about max price goal is WRONG ! Hidizs appears to be using a dynamic release model as more units are becoming available, currently 5 off each, the max number available is increasing except expired or unavailable offers. So currently excluding shipping there is HK$ 71,925 available towards the HK$ 1,960,343 current total, which would max the current maximum be HK$ 2,032,268 excluding any additional shipping charges. So is possibility of 2 million +
Ankit Khaitan
xpakriks...are u related with hidizs in any way since the official from hidizs said tht they are thinking of a stretch goal
Are we going to be able to see a picture of the leather case before the drop ends?
Ankit Khaitan - no more stretch goals, maximum price goal is 1996048. DAP only use USB-C connector type for USB 2 interface.
@Ankit Khaitan AP200 supports USB 2.0 mode, not USB 3.1
any news on spdif dop?
Ankit Khaitan
It would be great to know if USB 3.1 has been implemented or if they are just using the USB-C port but running it in USB 2.0 mode. Because the CoC the AP200 users is the Rockchip’s K3188 and it only supports USB 2.0, so unless Hidiz have a dedicated controller in it. I wonder if @Hidizs Hk @Hidizsofficial can comment please?
Leo Wings
Hi. Any luck with checking with suppliers for discount MicroSD cards and/ or a compatibly list? - Thank you.
Ankit Khaitan
i am sure if there is a 2m goal it gonna be a free earphone for sure..
Sarun Tanomsak
@Hidizs I think like @andrew wei
you may think about 2M goal and upgrade screen protect to glass screen is look good. But if you have other 2M goal reward, please update ^^
Andrew Wei
Can we upgrade the normal screen protector to a glass screen protector? Maybe that can be a stretch goal? I am very careless with my items and i'm not sure a plastic screen protector will protect it from hitting an edge
Marcus Schell
So.. If every level gets an upgrade.. What is the upgrade for the 128gb version? I'm curious as I am already a backer.
@David Tran The newest firmware will be able to double press to skip tracks and single press to adjust the volume
