Help fight the war on waste with the Swig Spill-Proof Reusable Coffee Cup. Swig is designed for great tasting coffee on the go. Simply rotate the integrated mouthpiece to effortlessly open or close the lid with one hand. The lid features a double leak-proof seal so it can be thrown in a bag without spilling. The lid offers an ergonomic drinking motion while its one-way valve allows air into the cup without letting liquid escape. Moreover, the thermal-insulated sleeve covers the cup’s entire body, making it comfortable to hold while keeping your drink hot. Thanks to its eco-friendly design, which comes in two sizes, this gadget saves disposable cup waste from landfill. The glass interior provides a premium coffee taste experience. The lid and sleeve are made of 100% food grade silicone rubber. Resistant to bacteria growth, Swig is hypoallergenic as well as microwave and dishwasher safe.

@jo thanks for the question - the Swig mini is 190g and Swig is 290g

How much do they weigh?

@James thanks for the feedback! Re: shipping rates, yes we decided to message all the backers who were affected individually so people didn't get confused. There were 24 countries that we have new shipping rates for (Malaysia included) and we have applied them to our rewards - saving up to $20 on a single Swig.

Is it possible to add a swig cup as an add-on ?

A great product first of all!
Echoing what the other users are saying, a more noticeable element to note the open/close of the mouthpiece would be charming.
And any updates on the shipping fee, since your update on 7th June? :)

Thank you for being a true gentleman.
Enough said, let's move on.

Hey Edon. It was just my two cents worth. You talk however you want in order to get your point across and I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.
Have a good one.

Hi @Debra Thank you for the excellent suggestion!. We totally agree! We are working hard this week to include a small feature to this part that is both a visual and tactile element, to help communicate whether it is open or closed. We are also working to ensure that this addition will not spoil the overall aesthetic of the cup. Once we have confirmed the modification with our manufacturer we will be sure to post an update.

I'll also raise a concern about the mouthpiece and knowing whether it is open or closed. I'd suggest something more prominent than a small dot on the top. It needs to be easily identifiable by sight or touch. Think about if you are driving a car -- you can't be inspecting the spout to find a small dot to determine whether it is open. Something tactile would be great-- either a different material on one end, or designed with bumps on one side.

@Jack Thompson:
I was only reacting on Steph Parkers comment.
He told the backers reactions about the shipping costs to act "whinging"
That is patronizing.
Now you are doing the same thing.
Maybe refering to the fact that most of the backers in this comment section are super backers isn't justified in the way you see it, but it is a simple and clear fact. Read the comments.
"Spoilt brat"? "Drunk somewhere"? "Complete bellend"?
Are you absolutely sure you want to be this offending, biased and insulting?
Keep this section civilised please.

Shipping to &/or from Australia is rough. It sucks for everyone involved but trust me when I say it’s worse from inside than from out as we tend to do a lot more buying than selling.
The people this will impact the most is the team trying to create their product.
P.S. @Edon saying something like “most of us are superbackers” makes you sound like like spoilt rich brat trying the whole “don’t you know who I am” when your drunk somewhere. Fair enough to ask the question re: shipping prices but no need to be a complete bellend while doing it.

@MoonRaven stay tuned, we will be posting an update on shipping tonight!

@Thaen good suggestion, we'll have a look at introducing add-ons. One thing we need to consider is the complexity in shipping these orders with multiple sizes, three different coloured parts in different combinations, with multiple quantity orders. Where possible we want to try to keep it simple so that we send the right Swigs in the right quantity to the right place! Maybe send us a message with the extra quantity you were thinking you would like?

I backed the Swig - First 50 and notice that the shipping for the regular Swig x1 reward is lower ($39 vs $17) which means the regular pledge is cheaper than the first 50. Will the shipping price be reduced for the first 50?

@Steph Parker:
Don't patronize us.
Most of us here are superbackers.
We know the Kickstarter policy.
And I most certainly know a bit about shipping costs, because most creators are located outside my country.
Just another tiny thing: Custom Taxes are calculated over the TOTAL VALUE of the package, so including shipping costs.
In my country these taxes are 21% of this total.
You do the math.

Hi @douglas appel This is a very good question. From the very start of this project we wanted to create an everyday cup that could survive the rough and tumble of daily use. This is largely why we have chosen to go with a silicone sleeve that surrounds almost the entirety of the external glass surface. This silicone provides excellent protection for the glass in case of drops and falls. This has been a question from a few of our backers, so i will try and post a video or gif showing the cup being dropped. Thanks again for the question.

Hi @Joyce L. This is a great suggestion!, We are looking into a few additional reward tiers at the moment with a “three cup” reward being one of them.
Some of the feedback so far shows that a lot of people would love this option, so we are seeing what we can do. Stay tuned..

Hi @Edwyn Chan Thank You for your question. We designed Swig to be a leak proof cup that you can take everywhere. When the mouthpiece is in the closed position you can pop it in your bag without a worry.

I have a small concern or question. Since this is ultimately made from glass how durable is it if dropped? Will it shatter or is it durable enough to survive

Is it possible to pledge for 3 Swigs? There’re only options for 2x or 4x Swigs. I have pledged at the 1x Swig early bird tier for now.

To those whinging about the postage that sounds about right for sending something of that weight over those distances. Remember that this isn't a disposable cardboard cup but is made of glass with a silicone cover. It is quite common for us Australians to have to pay similar postage charges to get things sent from overseas, that is if we're not excluded from buying all together. The alternative option for @Blake is to increase the item cost and then decrease the postage so that the relative costs look "better". Or @Blake could also cut on the quality of the packaging, if you want to risk getting a glass item sent in an over the counter mailing package, I'm sure that would cut the cost of delivery greatly. Also, remember that Kickstarter is about backing projects so that they can become real, not about buying a bargain, nor about the creator subsiding delivery.

@Brett thanks for the feedback, great idea. We have thought about this in the design (to save you pouring hot coffee into your hand to check). There is a small dot on the top of the mouthpiece in the open position, and the mouthpiece is slightly narrower at the bottom in the closed position. We are considering different options for making this more pronounced - so thanks for your suggestions!
Brett

From the campaign page, it's hard to tell when the mouthpiece would be open or closed. If this is the case, could you look at incorporating something (lettering/symbol, coloured strip, bi-colour silicone, shape, texture, etc) to indicate the position? Thanks,
Domoz

Hi and congrats from France for this nice project.
Even if it's AUD18 and not AUD39 for me, I'm with everyone here: it's a bit too much for an AUD20 item :-/

@TanBW @EdonvanHees @Viacheslav @WinstonOng thanks for your feedback on shipping costs and thanks for backing our project! We completely understand, unfortunately the shipping costs we were quoted for your countries (Malaysia Netherlands Russia) were very high. We had much better rates for Australia, USA, and better also for Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain. Rest assured we will be hard at work trying to find more competitive quotes for countries outside these areas! When we were planning our shipping costs there were three main things that we wanted to avoid:
1. Having to increase the shipping costs (this is super annoying)
2. Excluding certain countries from backing
3. Not properly accounting for shipping costs and failing to deliver! So again, thanks so much for your support and we're doing our very best to get a better shipping price!

Yes, the shipping charges are too high, backed 2 at AUD40 but shipping charges = AUD49. Will cancel if it remain the same, hopefully you can re-look into the shipping charges. All the best

Backed you, because it is a nice project and product and I think you deserve a good chance to get funded
Shipping costs are insane.
I will watch this campaign during the entire process and if these costs will not be reduced, I will cancel my pledge, no offence, just saying.

Actually, yes, shipping costs are incredibly high. I'm still supporting you, but I'll be really grateful, if you can make them at least bearable. When the shipping costs are twice bigger than the product price, it's hard to justify the purchase.

I'm making a pledge only make this comment: You created a promising product for A$20. You wrecked it entirely with a shipping cost of A$39, double the product price. Won't be supporting this. Bye.
