Hive Explorer STEM Insect Educational Kit

Editor's Rating

Turn your food waste into fertilizer with the Hive Explorer STEM Insect Educational Kit. This smart insect home enables you to recycle your leftovers into proteins and fertilizers using the power of mealworms. The kit allows kids and grown-ups to begin growing products on food waste and start exploring the interesting lives of mealworms. In addition, the Hive utilizes open source technology to control the micro-ecosystem and climates for the insect. The system is based on Arduino so you can easily change the settings and run science experiments with it. Each state of a mealworm’s life takes place in the Hive, resulting in a continuous loop system of efficient fertilizer and food production. To top it off, practically anything edible works with the Hive Explorer, including breadcrumbs, carrot peels and more. Finally, you can come up with your own experiments or find guided ones in the Hive Explorer Magazine.
