Discovered on 2015-11-04

Strip is a pair of visually subtle grippy silicone pads that improve the handling qualities of your premium phone without obscuring its natural beauty. Strip protects your phone from drops by preventing them in the first place. With strip you can enjoy the natural look and feel of your beautiful phone without worrying about dropping it all the time. Strip may look subtle but it’s surprisingly effective. This is what Strip can do for the slipperiest phone in the universe, the iPhone 6. With Strip you can text, take calls, and even take pictures safely with one hand.Strip gives your phone some impressive traction, but don’t worry, Strip is only grippy when you need it to be. Your phone will still slide in and out of your pockets with ease. Strip works on just about any device with flat or rounded sides, including iPods!

The subtle versions still holding strong !!!

since 6 weeks i am using the subtle version on my s6 edge plus and i prefer these over the rough version because they stay in position longer while still having sufficient grip. Still pleased with the product

Review from Kickstarter
I would say they last for around 4 to 5 weeks on a Samsung S6 edge plus but that is mainly due to the new rough and subtle versions are larger in width then my phone is due to the edge being curved.

Nathan, Just installed the rough strips and they are working like champs! Thank you for the follow through and the additional improved strips. I'm much happier with a caseless phone and much more confident not to drop it with your product.

Rough version of the strips feel fantastic. Will definitely be ordering more of these in the future if they hold up for 1-2 months.

I love the rough strips on my iPhone 7plus. I didn't care for the originals. I haven't tried the subtle.

Just a quick note: It appears that one of the samples that I sent you, the "Rough" version of Strips, has a tendency to come loose from its paper backing while in the mail. This allows the adhesive to dry which makes some of the Rough Strips unusable. The fix for this problem is simple but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the Rough Strips that are already in the mail. Your Rough Strips may be just fine but if you do receive a sample that doesn't stick as well as you'd expect, please know that I'm aware of the problem and that it has been solved. (This issue does not affect the "Subtle" version of Strips.)

I just received mine today. I love the feel of the rough ones, but the adhesive on them are terrible. Even after cleaning my iPhone 6s, they will not stick at all. The subtle ones do stay on pretty good, just not the rough ones.

Strip Mini Update: My other priorities have been dominating my time lately so the Strip packing process has been slow but I'm getting there little by little each night. I'm expecting to ship 2000 new kits of Strips late next week. I'll send an update with details and pictures as soon as I ship.

@Nathan - here is my feedback and sorry for the delay.
The selection of different sized strip lengths is excellent and exactly what I would need to get a good coverage on my iPhone. Adhesion seems to be generally very good and lasts much longer than Strip Mk1. Grip level is OK but I prefer the silicone feel from Mk1. For me the width of the strips is too much and dominates the phone a bit too much and I would prefer something closer to Mk1. The depth/thickness of the Mk2 however is perfect and lines up really well with the height of the buttons. I also got the 'walking' effect from the ends moving after a few weeks and, whilst they could be moved back into place, they soon move again.
Overall you have made significant improvements and I commend you on your perseverance with this project and wish you good luck for the future.

Strip Mini Update: A big thank you to all of the volunteer testers who have been sending in valuable feedback on the new Strip designs. Your help is greatly appreciated. I've been listening and taking notes and I'm feeling reasonably confident that it's safe to proceed to low rate production with the new designs. I'll have more on that in a few weeks. In the meantime, keep the feedback coming and again, thank you for your help! -Nathan

Nathan, here is some interesting feedback from the test strip. Mine are placed on the Samsung S6 Edge+ and as said before the strip is a bit wider then the edge of the phone. Therefore the strip goes over the edge and onto the back. I think this would be a worst case test. I have found that when the phone gets really hot the strip gets loose on its tip and the tip moves and sticks again. The first time i thought this was the beginning of the end. But more amazingly, when i apply heat onto it by rubbing i can move the tip of the strip again to the correct position and when it cools.... STRIP is BACK :-). Yes the grip is a lot less then the first version but i can still use my slippery but beautiful slim phone without a ugly bulky case again due to Strip!
So none but love from The Netherlands. Greets Etienne

I have been using the test STRIP for pretty much one month now and here is some more feedback. In the meantime the roughness is pretty much gone but there is definitely still more grip than without STRIP. I really like the feel! Since a few days however, the STRIP starts moving out of place, probably when the phone gets warmer while used. I can push it back into place, no adhesive stays on the phone where it shouldn't be. I personally would expect STRIP to stay in place a bit longer, but generally speaking I am happy with STRIP.

Sorry for the late follow up Nathan, things have been a bit rough this past month. I really like the new matte finish, it's pretty much perfect! I'm having issues with the adhesive not standing up well to heat, though. Just from charing or playing a game it can come a bit loose. I noticed that it tends to primarily/only happen at points where the strip is wider than my phone and is wrapped around/hanging off. To that note the previous finish definitely handles curves and corners much better since it is not as stiff as the matte finish.

Nathan, The new strips have been applied to my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.
First comment specific for edge phones users is that the new strip is a bit too wide. The width of the old version was perfect for an Edge phone. The new one is a few mm's too wide, i therefore had to fold the remaining of the width across the back. I think this placement would make the strip more vulnurable upon usage and could be the cause for partial release at some point in the near future. I will keep you informed.

Nate thanks for the newer of the new strips with what you call sandpaper like... They do have more grip feel but I do mis that tacky silicone feel of the first ever strips ... There was only a small strip on each side and even when picking the phone off a flat surface was doable... I feel like you got the adhesive figures out because these new strips are stuck to the phone really well ... I think you are getting there for sure

I was trying to post a comment here that I just consumed all the strip received and looking for anywhere I can have some new ones. It is so surprise that we are still developing new products here! Nice job Nathan. Could you count me in when there is something new to test on?

Hi, same here! The new version of strip, which I am using for about 2 days now feel great. I like them a lot. Only the color does not fit to my silver /white iPhone 6. But they are test steps after all. Maybe they will be available in different colors later? Application was super easy and the sharp feeling has already worn off. Now I can use my phone with my QI charging case (which has a tight fit) at home and Strip when I travel. Perfect - five stars from me! Klaus

I have been testing the new strips for a couple of day now and I really like how they look and feel. They are very thin but due to the dots provide a good grip (although a bit less than the silicone strips). The strips arrived in different lengths and the longer strips are really give grip along a large part of my iPhone 6. Hopefully, they stay on very long...

Thank you, Jesse. Excellent feedback.
I just dropped a few new Strips in the mail for you that combine the dots with a matte finish as you requested. Let me know if that does the trick.
As for offering different colors and sizes, absolutely. The colors will come first but later down the road I plan to offer phone-specific kits. (I designed the current kit to include various sizes to accommodate as many phone models as possible.)
Thanks again for your feedback on the new Strips.

Review from Kickstarter
Got the new set in and first impressions are almost entirely good! Overall I really like the new design better. Being much thinner makes these more comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and able to go around the corners if needed (like on phones with curves, e.i. Nexus 6). The new variations in size are awesome! The only thing I think needs to be addressed at this point is the finish on the materials, for me the "dots" just don't do enough for the glossy-ish finish, if it were a matte finish with the "dots" it would be perfect! A couple questions for you Nathan:
1. Would it be possible in the future to get these in different colors like you can with skins/decals?
2. Have you considered doing anymore sizes? It would be nice to have one the length of the longest one plus about another half inch to cover most of an entire side (for those whose buttons are all on one side) Great work!

Also note, the length was too long for my primary phone (One+ Two) requiring a trim. Any hope for ones 2/3 the current length?

Mine are effectively useless, and either delaminate, or simply peel off the phone. Mind you, I cleaned the phone sides EXTREMELY well. Using alcohol to ensure there is nothing on the phone that is causing the issue. I've applied every single one that I received, and the performance has been lackluster at best. Lasting for only a week, on their best days. The original mock-ups looked like they went made out of skateboard grip tape. These appear to be rubber only. Is there any hope for seeing this product turn out positively. I has such high hopes it would. A very necessary solution.

Strip Mini Update: Good news! The newly designed Strips are ready for evaluation! If you volunteered to help me test the new Strip design, your Strips will be shipped no later than Saturday (June 4th). I'll send you a message as soon as your evaluation Strips are in the mail. If you volunteered to test the new Strips and you don't receive a message from me by Saturday afternoon, let me know and I'll fix the error. Have a great weekend!

Strip Mini Update: I have a bit of bad news. Yesterday I was informed that the die cutting of the first batch of new Strips has been delayed by at least two weeks. The delay is due to a minor tooling issue encountered last week that was corrected quickly but not quickly enough to save my spot in the production schedule. I'm back in the schedule but I'm now queued up behind the order that was previously queued up behind me. Frustrating, yes, but the good news is that I've received the "first article" (the first set of Strips cut with the new tool) and they look great. The tooling fix that led to the current delay also significantly improved the quality of the parts. Totally worth it.
Until next week,
-Nathan

Strip Mini Update: The tooling for the new Strips is coming together nicely and should be complete and ready to go by the end of this week. The first small batch of material is running on schedule and should arrive at my door next week. If things keep running smoothly I should be able to mail out the new Strips to all of my volunteer testers at the end of next week. I still have some volunteer slots open so If you'd like to help test/evaluate the new Strips, let me know and I'll add you to the list. That's all for now. Have a great week! -Nathan

It seems that many are experiencing the same issue I saw with your product in that the rubber strip is coming detached from the adhesive strip. I've burned through all the strips you sent with my initial order. Do you have a new and improved version? If so, how do I get my hands on them (no pun intended). I like the concept of your product very much but they don't last.
