They test the fabric part… but what about the metal eyes the lock goes through… they don’t look thick enough to resist bolt cutters

This is great, but the lock is the weak point. Looks like you just cut through that and off you go. Love the design though.

Wow, the last update was in January, and people are still waiting for their locks. Also, no response to the sawing issue or the fact that it was conveniently left out of the tests even though it was asked a few times by the backers.

@Creator - I messaged you I didn't receive my saddle mount with my locks. The bag I received I thought that I might of received nothing. There was a huge hole. I need to send pictures so that you can claim insurance. It was obviously tampered with during shipping. I hope you will get back to me. And I also hope that the product has been fixed due to the saddle mounts being broken.

Quite a bad test result on the Germa site test.de (https://www.test.de/Fahrradschloss-Flexible-Schloesser-nur-eins-ueberzeugt-5322280-0/). Unfortunately it failed the test.
Can you please check this as the manufactorer?
And maybe there is a chance for improvement. Thanks

I live in continental Europe and have been inquiring vie privat emessages about the status of the fabrication and delivery. No reaction yet, which is rather worrying. If the project creators have acess to this page, I would invite them to also look at the project-related private messages and to update us on the state of play.
If the product arrives and works as advertiesd, I may still be a happy backer, but being kept in the dark for everal months is unacceptable.

The saddle mount is not designed for the weight of the tex-lock M incl. the lock - it broke at the first test on both sides (the mount itself and the counterpart at the tex-lock)

I ordered the Xtra long with a mini U-Lock. I live in Los Angeles and it seems other people have received theirs. I haven't received a tracking number or any indication of when it will arrive. I would like to know what's going on there.

@Friz - I feel as though we should keep trying, as we all deserve a response from the creator as to why the saw test was left out of the marketing videos. I think that the answer is quite clear. Yet another new destructive video has surfaced: https://www.youtube.com/watch… We're all very much in love with the form of this lock. It is lightweight, it's stylish, and none of us want to see it suffer any sort of damage, so I think that's why we'd hesitate to even try doing this test ourselves. Form over function. I guess it's back to U-locks for any sort of longer term security.

@Jason
I contacted texlock a few days ago asking for a comment on the subject, no reaction.
Based on the video the saw resistance is very low.
I wouldnt secure the bike only with the texlock anymore I only use it in combination with a real lock.

Tex lock defeated by a handsaw in 8 seconds (video): https://www.youtube.com/watch… I caught this the same time as @Bodo Hensen. As a backer and now owner of 2 tex-locks, this worries me. I know that no lock is 100% theft proof, and is simply a deterrent for the most determined thieves, but I expected a little more from something touted "as strong as steel". I think this might explain why there were only tests shown trying to cut through the textile by bolt cutters, and that the hand saw test was performed only on the hardened steel eyelets. Any comments from the creators @Suse Brand?

"My Saddle mount broke, the mechanism fell apart and I have not had time to fix it. It was dark and I did not notice that one part was stuck in to the magnetic part and I did not put it back to the system. So mound does not keep the lock in anymore. I will report if I get it fixed." I did get it fixed, hardest part was to think how to open the system, second hardest was to put the plastic ring back at it's right position.

No replies to me either about the missing lock. Says in pledge details that it included a lock. The only reply says it didn’t come with one even though it’s listed. Too bad, looks like a nice product I won’t use.

I have been trying to reach the creator for a week now. My early bird XL pledge says it comes with a U-Lock. The one message I received says I don’t get one with that pledge. While it says in the description one is included at that pledge. Can the creator either look at my pledge or give me a working email address to send a screen capture of the pledge. I would not have pledged at that level without the lock.

Just an update for others. I am a backer in Adelaide, Australia, backed the Early Bird Sisters option. I think mine has been delivered (it's sitting in a parcel locker at the moment) and i will be going to pick up tomorrow to confirm. For those wondering, i was backer #715, and did not receive any tracking information. The parcel just appeared today. I don't think they are being shipped out based on backing order, but rather the amount of stuff you backed.

Really like the cable, but unfortunately it didn't come with the u-lock that was supposed to be part of my early bird pledge. Guess it goes in the basement with my other incomplete kickstarter pledges. Unfortunately I can't send a screen capture to their listed emails. The ones they used to send my question about the lock don't exist, and Kickstarter doesn't allow screen captures through their system.

Australia will be last on the list to get anything. We will likely be waiting until December 2018 as the German retailers are much more important than the scum they think their overseas backers are...

Very shifty explanation from Suse on how the backers are less important than any retailers. I think she forgets that we backers made the project possible.... Hi David, we understand that you are not happy with the processes at Texlock.
We just can say that we have been overrun and overwhelmed with the interest people have in tex–lock. We started the Kickstarter campaign just for a little market research: will people be interested? or is it just us who think this is a good idea? Originally we planned to sell 600 bike locks which Alexandra & Suse could have manufactured themselves. Through the high demand they had to rethink the production process and also build up a company from the scratch (we are now 12 people working at Texlock and can produce 500 bike locks/ a week in our manufacture). Things we never expected one year ago. In other things we are really optimistic or - as others would call it - naive. We do a lot of stuff for the first time and it’s not perfect. Regarding the shipping: we had to move around the shipping for foreign countries to March as we couldn’t manufacture enough tex–lock for the bike retailers in Germany (where we are now selling regularly) and the Kickstarters (reasons were sickness of team members & that our suppliers couldn’t meet our demand). We would have loved to send it out first to the Kickstarters but then knew, that this would have meant the end for such a young company. - the retailers all would have cancelled and the tex–lock story would have been over. we hope that you understand our decision to be able to provide bike lovers with innovative products for a long time. We also know about our delay in answering emails and messages. We are hoping for your understanding that we need a longer to answer your email than you are used to from major online retailers. also I am clear, that this took me 2 weeks to answer, but I wanted to write an individual message which didn’t consist of copy&paste. Best wishes from Leipzig tex-lock team
