Hi Diana, Thanks for your feedback! Yes, it was a challenging few years with my manufacturer. Lessons have been learned. Don't hesitate to contact me directly with your current contact and mailing info. I have some replacement parts if you are interested!
Diana White
I'm glad I bought two instead of just one. The first one broke the first time I tried to load it, the second I use infrequently so it still has the same stick of butter in it. The plastic cap on that one broke, if I can find the broken one I'll plunder it. I like this product and honestly didn't expect much out of it for the price, especially because of the delays. I hope you do a 2nd run of new and improved with the lessons you've learned. I would try again.

Dwayne, shoot me an email! I got the new Augers in just last week.. in the nick of time. I got you covered, of course!
Dwayne Johnson
Mine broke. Auger needs to be metal. Now I see you are on the funderdome tv show pushing the boss. With the old auger. They will break.
Caroline Pierce
ah, I see I'm not the only one that's had issues with the product breaking. I Loved it the first stick that I used! But then the stem broke on the second stick.
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Guys,
Yes, we have 2 quality issues with the first ever production run. I am sorry! We've been sending replacement parts to you as/if they break. Thanks for being patient! It is taking a long time to get our supplier to make progress on the tool changes necessary. I have some replacement parts on order, and should have some extra available in a month. In the mean time I'm sending out the first parts as replacements and attaching additional instructions to avoid breakage. Thanks for hanging in there, and let me know via email if you need a replacement part! Best, G
Mine broke on first attempt too :(
Brad Dancer
Mine broke quickly, alas, not a great product guys. On o the next
Kelly Monzo
Really loved it but my lid and winding center broke quickly. It was great while it worked and hope to replace with a new one.
Daniel Malek
Where is my butter boss? I still haven't received the one I paid for?
First use break over here too. Spiral piece at the base. No excessive force, butter softened, even! (in normal use it would be coming out of fridge)
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Guys, Just contact me via email @ Support(at)
First use too - broke. And I have to ship it back (at my expense) to get a replacement? Very disappointed. How about I take a picture and you send me a new one? Should really be metal.
jason bolton
Spiral stick broke with first use with no excessive force used either.
Raewyn Curtis
spiral stick broke away from base on first use, no excessive force used. Agree with the comment that this should have been manufactured with metal.
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Guys, I know we've had some quality issues. My apologies, I'm dealing with it as best I can. It will take some time as all things do, but I'm working on a solution. in the mean time, I've replacement parts available on my website, (same ones) and hopefully by the summer I'll have upgraded parts.
Dwayne Johnson
I may modify mine to have a metal base and trust backbone. Love the idea, this was just poorly designed. The butter boss needs to be built like a boss
Ray Winslow
Like others, busted cap.
Daniel Quinlan
Lid is cracked on all 4 corners after one stick of butter :(
Justin Simmonds
Any word on the 3D Mold files??
Simon Lin
Wanted to like this product, but it was difficult to get the butter in the Boss, and using it was just marginally better than keeping butter in a butter dish, and the cap split before we finished the 1st stick
Daniel Fick
Still on the first stick of butter.. but the cap is already broken.
Guilherme Zani
I've just received my Butterboss, but unfortunately I dropped to the ground and the lid/cap cracked.
Can I buy another lid/cap? My wife is gonna kill me if i can't fix it.... Waiting for your help. PS: I'm from Brazil
leslie barkley
Busted with first attempted use. Why use plastic for a piece when a metal rod and base would actually deal with a stick of solid fat.
Steven Hughes
My Butter Boss came in pieces the spiral wasn't attached. Is there a way to attach it?
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
It's good to warm it up when it's fresh from the fridge, but also some butter, like organic tends to be 'sticky' so you might need to twist the knob a quarter turn back and forth to free up the cold stick.
Ian Biggins
Loaded a stick as per instructions, left it in the fridge and now twisting the end does nothing. I'm guessing that like many others, the spiral is most likely broken. please let me know if the part can be replaced.
Brad Isaac
Got mine and use it like chap stick to spread butter on toast. But one thing I have is the square turn part at the bottom "pops" out every day unless I am pushing upward with a lot of force as I turn it. Is this by design to prevent breakage of the inner spiral?
Sherry Larocque-Burkhart
Unfortunately did not even get a full day use out of mine. Product arrived with inside center stick butter holder bent to the right - product would not move butter past the top. Disappointing.
Stuart Morrison
I love my butter boss. How do I get a replacement spiral?
Benjiman Cartwright
One thing I noticed is the cap only goes on one way. My daughter put it on the other direction and it split down the side of the cap. Just make sure you put it on forward or this will happen to you.
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Russ, Just shoot me a direct message or email.
Russ Langas
My spiral twisted until it snapped off. Anyone found a way to mcgyver the spiral to the base? Anyone got a response from the "Boss's"?
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Shelley, That's the actual final Yellow Boss color. It's kind of mustardy right?
Shelley Harlan
Hi, I received my Butter Boss and Baron, thanks. The Boss, however, is orange rather than yellow. Was there a faulty batch? Is there a way to make an exchange?
Like others, was excited to get this-until the spiral broke off on the first stick of butter. Not sure what you need to do to fix this (as it seems a problem for many), but how can I get a replacement part to get this to work properly?
James Conn
guys, I'm among the seemingly many people who have inadvertently broken the extremely fragile spiral off the base. I loaded this puppy EXACTLY as per the instructions and the next morning, I don't know if the butter was too hard or what but gave a twist and nothing happened. After extracting the butter, sure enough the spiral was snapped right off. How do I get another?
Vishal Verma
I need some help here. I put in a new stick of butter exactly as per instructions. Left it overnight in the fridge. Next morning, tried to rotate the spiral ....and NO luck. The spiral spins freely in both directions and the butter is firmly wedged inside. Couple of questions - Is the spiral broken? wow. if so, Im shocked by the fragility of manufacturing. How do we get this replaced?
Steve Pappas
One thing that really like a lot is being able to precisely slice off some butter from the Butter Boss. Typically, with a butter dish, you get too much or too little butter. The Butter Boss enables you to get exactly the amount of butter you would like. Also, making thin slices enables you to immediate spread the butter because the thinner slice is more pliable and warms up immediately against what you're spreading the butter on. The Butter Boss has changed my life, lol!
Steve Pappas
If you've broken the spiral, you can still use the Butter Boss with your thumb on the Butter Bracket from below to push up the butter. The back of a butter knife can be used to push the butter up further after you've run out of thumb.
Steve Pappas
Has anyone made herb butter yet? Did and it's great ! ! ! First time ever doing that. The Butter Boss makes it a breeze! Used the Butter Broad version ("west coast butter") of the Butter Boss because it's bigger -- easier to load and bigger slices of butter. * Took out a stick of butter and put it in a bowl. * Cut up the butter into smaller squares. * Sprinkled in, actually threw in (a lot), of "McCormick Gourmet Bruschetta Sweet Basil and Oregano Seasoning Mix," which also has onion, garlic, and sea salt in it as well. * Used a fork to mix it in while still relatively cold but pliable. * Brought the inside plate ("Butter Bracket") of the Butter Boss up towards the top of the opening per "Step 1" of the "Care and Feeding Guide." * Used a small pliable silicone spatula and seeded the herb butter in the Butter Boss on the Butter Bracket plate being careful to avoid air holes. * Counterclockwised the spiral using the "Butter Finger Knob" and continued loading butter until spiral stopped. * Back in the fridge. Fabulous! You should try it as you're so inclined. It jazzes up anything and everything that's better with butter! Butterlicious :-)

Hi Guys, be careful when loading, don't turn the knob past the end. It will feel tight at the bottom. If you crank it past, it will break!
J Clemenson
Also received it today and was excited to receive it! Butter screw broke off base of the knob on first stick of butter. How do I get a replacement part?

Hi, Received it today. Butter screw broke off base of the knob on first stick of butter. How do I get a replacement part? Thanks, R Lawlis

Hi Guys, As much as I want to design and manufacturer a Pepper Grinder Yo-Yo, or something Goose themed, the problems with my supply chain and the challenges of this past year put me at a dis-advantage. I'm probably going to have to keep my head down for a while until I recover. But maybe...I really want to...
Geraint - Received mine today and immediately tried them out. Kudos sir for a job well done. They are not at all necessary but one of those cool, useful tools that make things fun. My 20 yr old daughter is cooking up ways to use them. Thank you for a job well done. What's next?
Cathy Franchett
Got mine today. Love it! Thanks for the great job.

Hi Kevin, You emailed me on Dec. 5th and asked to switch to a half-stick baby version...
Kevin Robbins
I ordered a regular sized BB. For the survey I chose the regular sized BB and blue. Today I received a baby boss in the mail. Can you please send the regular sized BB, which I backed. Thanks!
Geraint Krumpe of Y Line Product Design
Hi Peter, It depends on your location, there are 2 basic sizes of Butter, and there are other non-standard shapes like Kerry Gold etc. If you are on the west-coast, you can find both sizes at many supermarkets, but the 'west coast' - 'Broad' version is designed for the shorter, fatter 1/4lb sticks.
