TrackALL Wireless Asset Tracker

Editor's Rating
4.9?
Discovered on 2018-01-30

Track and sense practically anything with the TrackALL Wireless Asset Tracker. Featuring onboard sensors and built-in location services, the TrackALL can monitor virtually anything. It can detect temperature, shock/tilt, proximity, ambient light, altitude, humidity, air pressure and more. For example, you can use the TrackAll to track your vehicle, keep an eye on your pet or take care of your plants. This asset tracker also wirelessly collects and sends data to any cloud app. Additionally, it is a completely pre-programmed and scalable device that offers a five-year battery life using 2 AA batteries. Furthermore, the TrackALL works with practically any third party sensor, making it an entirely customizable sensor solution. The device is also fully weatherproof with an IP65 rating. Finally, you don’t need any programming experience to use the TrackAll, though advanced users can write their own scripts.

Everyone - We do not have access to your email and other details until the campaign closes and since we are closing this campaign tomorrow, send us an email to info@mcthings.com with your details so that we can add you to our lists to keep informed on updates with the TrackALL device
Thanks!
Humphrey
What a shame! I’d like to stay informed on the continued TrackALL development and release date. Please keep my personal data.
Tobald
So sad to hear that too. I would love to to stay informed on the continued TrackALL development and release date :)
Neil
So sorry to hear that this campaign has been cancelled. Although it's unfortunate, this won't deter me from seeking out and purchasing McThings products for use with my projects.
Regards,
Neil.

Hi @Evan Ross,
Long range mcAirt is still 2.4GHz. Both the TrackALL devices and gateways have a PA/LNA and we send 20dBm. We have tested the range of long range mcAir, and it is more than 1200m under optimal conditions.
Evan Ross
Good to see this come to fruition. I hope this product finds traction in the marketplace. I'm wondering what was done to make mcAir long range? Is it sub-GHz now? (doubtful since you'd have to ship EU & NA product variants and I don't see anything here about it). Maybe the TX power was cranked up?
Kiw Huixin
Yay! Congratulations on meeting the target goal!

Hey @German,
Since the TrackALL has on-board Wi-Fi location services, you can track stock/assets/etc. within a warehouse or other buildings. Keep in mind, you do need Wi-Fi access points for the device to capture and send to a Wi-Fi AP database to triangulate your position. Within a warehouse, you can get location, temperature, humidity, shock values, etc. – all using the built-in sensors on the device. From there, you will send the data to a visualization application (using mcCloud, you can send to any application that uses webhooks/HTTPS) where you can plot and display map locations and the other variables you are measuring. Keep an eye out for an upcoming update/example project where we showcase indoor location tracking using the TrackALL.
German
Brilliant idea! Exciting to see it in my hands. Can you give an example of a process and how it will monitor stock within a large warehouse? Keep up with nice updates!

Hi @Jeroen,
Thanks for the comment! Yes, C02/VOC is a great sensor that has value. The issue is that they are fairly expensive and we wanted to keep the cost of this Kickstarter as low as possible. With this said, the TrackALL includes multiple GPIO’s and Analog inputs! We also provide I2C, UART, and SPI interfaces which allows you to connect your own sensors to the device, meaning you can connect your own C02 sensor, and many other sensors, and start feeding that data to the cloud.

Hi @Tobald,
Wi-Fi location accuracy is subjective to the amount of Wi-Fi access points in the vicinity AND which location service database you are using. That said, if you are in an area with a decent amount of Wi-Fi access points, you should be able to get some fairly accurate location points! We have seen +/- 5-10m through our testing. Also, Wi-Fi allows for indoor location tracking much more accurately than GPS (as you don’t need a view of the sky) and uses much less power than GPS. We also put up a new FAQ that explains Wi-Fi location – be sure to check it out

Hi @Martin,
Yes, the new mcGateway does have an increased range as well as additional antennas to increase diversity. You should see some benefits of the new gateway to your existing mcModule120 devices. The TrackALL includes a power amplifier which increased the range of that device which is how we can get up to 1.2 km range! Keep in mind, as we noted in our FAQ's, the older version of modules, the mcModule110's, will not work with the new mcGateway and mcCloud.
In regards to sensor utilization, yes, you control which sensors on the TrackALL device that are 'on' or not (you can use one, two, etc. or all sensors simultaneously). One of the major values the mcThings platform provides is that the programming is customizable meaning that you decide which sensor is active and when. This allows you to manage your devices and set them up for your exact requirements without wasting unnecessary power! You don’t need to use any sensor if you do not wish, simply program the device to use the sensors you wish and send that data to the cloud. Later, if you wish to use them for a different project, simply program the device to use those sensors and send that info to the cloud.

Still, SigFox regions are huge, so no issue there. I like the low power consumption, event driven OS and the wireless distance made possible by mcAir. All the software connectivity and available & custom API's, the possibilities are endless!
Martin
I am assuming this gateway is the long talked about new extended range gateway. Will existing mcmodules benefit from the new range? or, when will new "extended range" modules be available? As per previous conversations with Tom, I have commercial applications that need that range -yesterday.... Also, can the individual features/sensors of the trackall plus be turned off if not required so to preserver more power, and what does the power draw compare between trackall and trackall plus? the only feature I need from the + is the humidity sensor so I would like to disable the others.... Thx and look forward to another Mcthings kickstarter success!
Tobald
Hi, what is the accuracy of the location tracking ?
Jeroen S
Would love to have CO2 added for complete environment monitoring (eg. home climate, The humidity and CO2) also to control heating, ventilation and such. Maybe a stretch could be to add a Co2 or gas sensor (CCS811?) ?
mcThings
Hi Neil. Thanks for the comment!
One thing to keep in mind is that Sigfox uses different frequencies for different regions and as such, a device that is designed for use in the USA (Sigfox Region 2) would not work on the European Sigfox network (Sigfox Region 1). This frequency difference is due to the restrictions that each region/country puts in place for a number of reasons.
Neil
Looks as though SigFox coverage is very good in the UK and quite a lot of Europe. This would be a handy gadget to send with someone going on a trip abroad so that we can follow along with them on their expedition. The SigFox network is global so for $36 we can send up to 140 SigFox messages per dayfor one full year from anywhere on the planet that there is SigFox coverage. Could even come up with a secret code to inform that everything is good with them.

Hi Humphrey,
The Gateway uses a standard Micro-USB power connection (5V).
Humphrey
What's the power source of mcGateway?
Martin Nugter
Thank you! I did as you recommended and the order now appears as I intended it.
mcThings
Hi Martin, Thanks for your pledge! It appears as though you've purchased the "Professional" reward tier although you were trying to purchase the "Early Bird Professional+" package (same dollar amount). We would recommend canceling your current "Professional" pledge and re-purchasing the "Early Bird Professional+" package as they are still available at this point in time. Feel free to message us if you have any problems.
Martin Nugter
Hi, I pledged the early bird professional= at $483 CDN. It should include 5x TrackALL+ as per the description, but my selection window shows only 5x regular TrackALL. Typo? Great concept, by the way!
