Qubii Automatic Backup Charging Device

Editor's Rating
4.7?
Discovered on 2018-06-29

Charge and backup your iPhone simultaneously with the Qubii Automatic Backup Charging Device. Thanks to non-inference background thread technology, this gadget quietly backs up your phone while it charges. In addition, you can keep using your phone while Qubii automatically backs up your data. Unlike cloud backups, Qubii doesn’t have any data fees or require an internet connection. It also offloads photos and videos quicker than Wi-Fi. Aside from your iPhone photos and videos, Qubii backs up the pictures and videos that you’ve posted on Instagram and Facebook. It even backs up your contacts. To use Qubii, start by inserting the micro SD memory card. Then connect the USB port into the iPhone power adapter and charger. Afterward, plug the Apple Lightning cable to charge your iPhone. By saving your backup data onto a micro SD card, Qubii allows you to choose any capacity.

Hello @Albert, Per the answer to your last question, please review the second half of our last answer to @Chua Yong Zhi as shown below: The second way is to unplug your Qubii from the plug adapter that you use for charging (like the Apple 5W adapter) and put the same Qubii into an available USB Type A port of an available Mac or PC. By browsing the files (in directories) of Qubii, you use your normal Finder or Explorer browser on the desktop or laptop to view or manage photos. The Qubii files look like any other image file you would look at from an external hard disk or a portable thumb drive. That also means you can copy all your images from your preferred microSD card on Qubii to any special directories on your desktop/laptop. It is that simple and powerful! Hope that helps...

Hello Chua Yong Zhi, per your question: Q1: How does it work for us to view the photos from the microSD card from the app? Does Qubii has bluetooth or wifi that allows us to view from our app or do we have to sync it to our computer first? A1:Another great question. We are glad you asked! You actually have two ways to browse (or view) the photos on Qubii. The first, fastest and most used way will be through the free Qubii App from the App Store. This Qubii App has a very visual and friendly way to browse and manage (share, restore or delete) photos that looks very much like the iOS Photos viewer. The second way is to unplug your Qubii from the plug adapter that you use for charging (like the Apple 5W adapter) and put the same Qubii into an available USB Type A port of an available Mac or PC. On the next Qubii Campaign update, we will post the two attached images from our Qubii User Manual PDF to shows what the App side of Qubii would look like going from the Main Menu to the Application | Browse functionality under iOS. We hope that helps...

Hello @ALBERT, per your question: Q1: Other than videos, photos, contacts and social media data, can Kubii backup audio files? If yes, does it works for native iOS apps only or it will backup audio files from third party apps too? A1: At the present time and in the current version, audio files are not supported. There are certain kind of files and such that may or may not be deemed untouchable due to Apple's MFi certification standards and rules. The files supported in Qubii have also been approved by Apple via their strict MFi approval process.

Thanks for the reply. Another question is 1. Will the contents be accessible through windows? Eg windows explorer Or a separate software needed to installed to view/edit/delete/copy ? Thanks

@Creator Thank you for your swift response with greater answer there! 👍🏻 I still have one more question after looking at the photo given. Question: How does it work for us to view the photos from the microSD card from the app? Does Qubii has bluetooth or wifi that allows us to view from our app or do we have to sync it to our computer first? This is a very good and creative product! Wish you all the best and have more potential backers in the near future! 😁

Hello @Vernon, Thanks for your question and support with your pledge for a Qubii. Per your question: Q1: Will it auto backup & what I it backup if :- 1. plug in for 1 min then plug out. 2. Plug in 2 in min plug out. Then half an hour plug back in for 4 min. Plug out. Then 1 day later plug back in for 5 hours. Thanks A1: It will auto backup what it can for the time (or multiple times) the Qubii is plugged into the wall adapter and the charging cable to your iPhone. If it keeps getting interrupted by the cable getting unplugged to take the iPhone somewhere, no problem. Qubii will start from where it left off last. The first time you setup and use Qubii, the backup will take longer as all the images and videos are considered new. From that point on, each time you plug in the charging cable, it will incrementally back up the newest images since the last backup. This makes background backups must faster as it has much less images to backup as you would normally charge your iPhone at least once or twice a day. So, whether it is 1 minute, 5 minutes or 5 hours when it is plugged in, it will simply start from where it left off due. We hope this answers your question. -jb

Hello Chua Yong Zhi, Thank you for your comments and questions. Let's take your two questions one at a time. Few questions Q1. How long does it take to transfer 1 GB of photos to Qubii?
A1: 1GB can take from 3 to 10 minutes and that's highly dependent on what kind of microSD the user uses for Qubii. Also, we are backing up in the background, so iOS may not give our app high priority, and this may also affect performance. Finally, there are many microSD card vendors and models that have many different types and read/write speeds and costs that can vary significantly. Q2. Can you show us how the apps that will notify us about the SD card is full and other functions that the apps have.
A2. This is a great question. From Page 19 of our 20 page detailed User Manual PDF (which we will post the entire PDF document in our next Qubii Kickstarter Update), it states in the FAQ section: FAQ
1. What if the microSD card is full?

If you get the notification that your microSD card is full, you could transfer the data from the microSD card to any computer, or simply replace it with an empty microSD card.
We cannot seem to post images on this comment section, so you can see it once the PDF is posted in the next few hours. Two Screenshots are shown in the manual as to what they will see. Both messages actually says: "! The memory card is running out of space. Please replace it with a new one with sufficient space for backup." Thanks for your questions, comments, support and pledge. We appreciate SuperBackers like yourself. -jb

Few questions
1. How long does it take to transfer 1 GB of photos to Qubii?
2. I went to your previous campaign and found out that apps weren’t created or poorly done. Can you show us how the apps that will notify us about the SD card is full and other functions that the apps have. - I realise this campaign is selective of reply to certain comments. (may be due to difficulty in language or time) but in order for you to show your responsibility and allow potential backers to trust you, you have to be more pro-active. thank you! :)

@Marsha Tyszler: Hello Marsha. Thanks for your order and support. The answer is yes to your question. If you double or triple the EB pledge amount, we will make sure you get 2 or 3 Qubii’s when it is shipped.

From what I understood is that this device stores all your data and charges your phone. But is it in an online cloud or inside the white cube?
