Gravel Expeditioner Travel Toiletry Bag

Editor's Rating
4.9?
Discovered on 2018-05-30

Organizing and packing your toiletries is easy with the Gravel Expeditioner Travel Toiletry Bag. The Expeditioner bag stays compact despite fitting an impressive amount of toiletries. The bag comes with eight separate pockets to help you stay organized and pack as much as you need. Likewise, it makes it easy to carry bulky and large items while remaining compact. The zippered mesh pocket is ideal for taller items, such as your razor or comb. Additionally, the water-resistant toothbrush pocket keeps your toothbrush germ-free and separate from other items like your toenail clippers. Other pockets include a deep and tall pocket, two deep mesh pockets, and a deep water resistant pocket. The bag also comes with a TSA compliant pouch so that you can quickly remove liquids for airport security. Plus you can just hang the bag in the shower using the adjustable strap and g-hook, which you can also stow away.

Hey guys. So I my pledge was for 3. Unfortunately I got broken up with this week (in the serious worst way), which is who 1 of those was intended for. Is there anyway to go back to just 2 (my original pledge)? I tacked on the extra for an additional bag.

@Marc Visschers Hi! Yes we were working hard on putting together some bottles as an add-on to be unlocked. We ended up postponing that release and are still working on the logistics of the bottles. Our number one priority is that we need to fulfill all bag pledges. Adding anything to the product lineup is important to ensure that we can keep that same timeline - we actually planned to not do the bottles although we are still investigating to see if it can be possible. If we do them, they would be available in BackerKit as an add on. You will all be the first to know if we end up adding the bottles in the lineup!

I was wondering if the $44 for the Explorer will be an add-on on the pledge manager as well?
Thank you

I recall from earlier in the comments you had mentioned that you are producing your own toiletry bottles that can be purchased as add-ons after the event. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to tune into livestreams. Do you have any pictures and/or videos of these products?

@Nicholas Njotowidjojo Hi! We're going to ship everything in one package to you. We'll have the Expeditioner + Explorer ready together at the same time to be shipped :D. As you also know, we are still on track to ship this September. The materials have been ordered and will all be together in the next couple weeks to start cutting. We'll keep you in the loop with updates as we build these bags. Thanks Nic!

Hey, so I bought the explorer+expeditioner set. Just wondering if it might be possible to ship the expeditioner first (assuming it’s a launched product and you guys have ready stocks). Really want to use it for an upcoming trip. Best,
Nic

@Elias Cohen Hi! The toothbrush pocket is water resistant. We've been using that pocket configuration for a long time and it's worked out great. You might have seen our video/GIF of of the toiletry bag hanging w/a toothbrush air drying as if it was a toothbrush holder - that works great. If you need to brush and don't have time to air dry then you can knock off as mich as you can then put it in. I have yet to pull it out after doing that and finding it wet afterwards. We used a regular zipper vs the waterproof zippers so that pocket can breathe a bit. I have yet to have a mildewy experience :D Best,
Chris

@Dag Henrik Bråtane Interesting! We've been shipping all international orders w/USPS so we'll have to do a deeper analysis. For now the plan is to ship with UPS/FedEx/etc. Thanks for backing!

@Ioannis Charalampidis Hi! We were really wanting to but we keep fulfilling on time as the #1 goal post kickstarter and don't want to compromise our timeline with more potential delays. If we can make something work we'll have it as an add on for our survey we send to gather shipping info. Thanks for backing!

+1 for shipping to Europe by USPS

I have a design question. Is the toothpaste pocket mesh or waterproof? If you put a wet toothbrush in a waterproof pocket would’t be prone to mildew. Wouldn’t you want it in a mesh pocket so it can air dry? Thanks.

Review from Kickstarter
I vould like to vote for shipping to Europe by USPS instead of UPS/DHL/Fedex. It costs less to receive package with USPS, at least to Norway. I have heard that the same applies to at least one other European country. Thanks.

@Antonio Pieknik To add additional Expeditioner bags on top of the pledge you selected you will need to add $64 per bag on top of your pledge amount. Instructions:
1. Visit the project page and click the “Manage your pledge” button that appears next to your pledge amount. 2. On the next page, select "Change your pledge," and then simply add $64 for each extra bag you'd like. When we send out the survey via BackerKit we will collect the additional shipping required for the additional bags. Just a reminder that it's only possible to select one reward tier at a time.

How do I add on another bag? I pledged for the 2 bags but wanted 3

@chang The $88 you pledge for here will get you the two Explorers and if you are in the USA your shipping cost required will be about $7 USD. Money for ALL add ons is collected through the survey in BackerKit. In your case you will no be charged for shipping here. Technically you are buying two add ons so you will pay for shipping through BackerKit when we send out the survey. Make sense?

and i assume that once i pay for shipping it would consider the +5us shipping (if i get charge for that here)

@Bernard Kerckenaere, @Matthias Rost, @Christoph Schreiber, @Jürgen Brandt, @Teddy, @Johan, @all international customers - Thanks for your feedback, international shipping is always a challenge with customs fees etc. Bringing a good chunk of our packages to the EU is an interesting option and we'll vet out (and have checked out some options) of what is available in that regard. Right now our plan is to ship international packages with carriers like DHL, FedEx, or other similar carriers from here in Provo, Utah. We've shipped with USPS in the past and it has been reliable although we've had our fulfillment company negotiate a deal that will help us afford even better international shipping options. Customs are always a beast and we'll do everything we can to make sure if you have to pay any customs fees they are the lowest possible. Thank all of you for backing our campaign and for your continuous support!

Ah, this is why you guys make the pouch that holds the TSA bag only able to open the zipper until half way? So the rest are all sealed? Not sure if you get me but in short, the zippers of the back pouch which holds the TSA bags are until half way when fully open.. I was thinking why not making it able to fully open it.. but I guess it is to also prevent leakage when the rest of the bottom are sealed.

@ Bernard Kerckenaere +1 for EU friendly shipping I pledged for two bags. So please try your best to send it EU friendly. Thank you!

Since I had a lot of problems in the past with that:
If you ship to Germany, please don't use private parcel or express services. Because they force the receiver to use their "customs clearance service", which will cost additionally 10-15€ admin fee (I'm not talking about taxes! The fee comes on top). They'll keep your parcel as a hostage until you commit to their "service". The only way of processing the customs on your own, is to ship with your local Post-Service and DHL (important NOT DHL express!!!).
Bernard Kerckenaere

I don't actually really care about the money as much as I do about needlessly giving customs and governments more of my hard earned money. So as a small incentive to you: provide us with EU friendly shipping and I will up my double expeditioner pledge to include an explorer as well. It will still be cheaper to me than if I need to pay customs!
Bernard Kerckenaere
Review from Kickstarter
+1 for EU friendly shipping Some points:
* goods can be transferred freely within the EU, so after importing your goods to one EU country, there's no more customs to get it to customers in another EU country
* you will need to pay VAT, but only on MANUFACTURING cost, so if you combine this with the reduced shipping costs (freight to EU + inter-EU shipping will be cheaper than shipping to individual customers from the US), it should make not much difference to what you're charging now
* BUT!!! we will be saved 21% VAT on RETAIL price + shipping + another 15-30 euro cost for them to pre-pay the VAT and possible extra duties depending on the product category you declare (which could add up to 15% extra)
* all in all you could save us from paying around 50% extra on top of the retail + shipping you're charging us, without any extra costs to yourselves! (and if it would cost a little extra, I'd be more than happy to pay that considering I'd still be saving sooooo much more!)

@Matthias Rost Hi! Just sent you a message. Yes the bottles are on hold for now. There are a lot of variables we need to consider for the bottles as shipping on time is our #1 priority. We apologize, we were striving to make it happen during the campaign but will send out updates if there are any changes on the bottles front. Thanks for your continuous support Matthias!

Hi @Gravel For a week you wrote: „@Matthias Rost We'll be announcing something as a stretch goal attained unlocking an add-on very soon :D“ Do you mean with that the bottles? Is an early-backer-printing or something in this kind possible?
