Boox Picco E-Reader: Overview
Boox Picco is a tiny e-reader inspired by the buzzy Xteink X4. The touchscreen device skips magnets but adds a few upgrades of its own.
- Touchscreen Display: The 3.97-inch e-paper screen is touchscreen, a step up from the non-touch X4 Pro.
- Customizable Buttons: Physical page-turn buttons sit on the body, with different actions for a short press and a long press.
- MicroSD Storage: All your books live on a microSD card. This keeps the base hardware simple.
- Flexible File Transfer: You can load titles onto the card, or send them over USB-C or WiFi through a companion app, without swapping the card each time.
- Linux-Based Software: Instead of Android, the Picco runs a stripped-down Linux-based system with a few extra apps, including a timer, a todo list, and a stats tracker.
Boox plans to reveal the Picco’s price, battery life, and other details when it launches in November.
