iRobot Roomba Duo Dual-Robot Vacuum and Mop System: Overview
iRobot introduced the Roomba Duo at IFA 2026. It’s a concept robot vacuum system that pairs a full-size vacuum and mop with a slim companion robot.
- Two robots, one arm: A mechanical arm on the main robot lifts and lowers a compact companion robot into tight spots it cannot reach.
- Wet and dry cleaning: The main robot steams, scrubs, and vacuums in one pass, using a 60mm roller mop with real downward force.
- Low-profile companion: At just 8.35 cm tall, the second robot slides under low furniture and cleans corners the main unit skips.
- Shared home map: Both robots use LiDAR and AI cameras to build one map, then split cleaning tasks through the Roomba app.
- Self-cleaning dock: A shared dock washes and dries both mops and empties dust on its own, cutting maintenance.
iRobot showed the Roomba Duo as a prototype at IFA 2026, with no price or release date confirmed yet.
