Discovered on 2018-02-12

Grow your own potatoes at home with the Paul Potato Professional Potato Tower. Paul Potato makes it easy for anyone to grow potatoes. Consisting of four layers, the potato tower saves save so you can grow potatoes on your balcony or in your garden. Additionally, the tower offers built-in protection from voles, and you don’t have to worry about pesticides. Likewise, it comes with a water distribution system. With Paul Potato, you can also grow a variety of potatoes that you can’t find in stores. To plant potatoes, start by filling each layer with soil. Then add some fertilizer, put a seedling in all three corners and stack one layer on top of the other. Furthermore, you can use Paul Potato to grow other vegetables, fruits, herbs and more. Finally, the potato tower is available in both plastic and steel versions.

Planted my potatoes last week and was watering my 3 towers of potatoes and just noted that one of my plastic tiers has a huge crack in it - it is on the top tier so I have no idea how that happened?! Not sure if it will remain stable. :(

I’m down in Texas and we are out of potato season. So I’m trying okra, basil, and arugula. Have some really nice sprouts, only to see my son peeing on them! Well, we shall try round two soon.

Hello Gusta Garden team.
My plants are growing well :)
I put courgette (zucchini), various kinds of tomatoes, chickpeas, various herbs like parsley or basil, eggplant, pepper...
I planted my potatoe seedlings and wonder if I have to select one plant over the others when several emerged from one seedling ?

Received last week and just put together. Pleased with how heavy and solid the stainless steel is (we need less plastic people!). The steel beat up the inside of the box a bit and one corner of one of the pieces was bent, I think from punching through the box during shipping. It was easily fixed by bending back (can't do that with plastic!). Considering this went from Germany to California the box held up really well, but some reinforcements around the edges might be good. Easy and intuitive to put together. Now I just need to plant some stuff!

Just one comment for steel PAUL POTATO. Assembly manuals suggests to put nuts inside, into soil. Personally I think it should be other way round, as part in soil will potentially corrode faster than one outside. It can be important if in a future you decide to disassemble the tower. Moreover if nuts are outside you can use WD40 or even hacksaw to remove the nuts in a future.
Apart from that I really like the product. Steel is really thick and robust!

As you can see, it is full of herbs. The irrigation system is Tropf Blumat. I can confirm, that the whole tower can be connected to single ceramic sensor only (placed on top in the middle), yet all the droppers (6x3 = 18) drip very well. Those bottom ones drip somehow faster, but it can be regulated on somehow on the droppers.

I placed 6 plastic pots on each other. It is stable. You will need to buy deeper tray anyway.

@Mike: Thank YOU for backing your project :-) @Yuri: Happy Planting! You can get inspired of our #PAULPOTATO on facebook and instagram. It's possible to plant for example salad, radish, herbs, etc... - the top floor can be used as a raised bed. @cindi: That's right, it's enough to put a seedling in each corner. Happy Planting :-)

Got my planters! Thank you for the timely delivery. Question though. The video shows you only put 3 potatoes in each level, is that correct? I read there are multiple ways to plant but cannot find any other videos.

@Gusta Garden: I received my PAUL POTATO today. All is looking great so far - except for one thing: I've added sheep wool fertilizer for 5 EUR as an extra to my reward. The description said "perfect amount for one PAUL POTATO". On 31 March you also commented here: "Yes, the fertilizer is for four layers. As Kickstarter backer you get this special deal!" The fertilizer (300 g) I got is only good for three layers though. Was there a mix up?
