SAND Day and Night Clock by Studio Ayaskan creates ripples in time

The SAND Day and Night Clock by Studio Ayaskan is both a clock and meditative device. SAND was partially inspired by Japanese gardens, which provide a sense of peace. In the same way, this clock allows you to be mindful as each day and night pass. This tabletop clock has a golden metal edge that surrounds a dish of sand. In the center is where the clock hand connects. The desk clock hand is almost like a rake, so it creates ripples in the sand as it turns around the center. During the day, the sand clock creates ridges in the sand to remind us of time passing. Alternatively, during the night, this meditative clock erases the ripples as we sleep.
