This magnificent Dream Chair was created by Tadao Ando for Carl Hansen & Son.
It’s meant to be a tribute by the designer to famed Danish designer Hans Wegner by using the same minimalist design concepts that Wegner was so fond of.
It’s unmistakably a chair, but there’s also no mistaking the fact that this is a sculptural work of art than an industrial cookie-cutter production.
The secret behind it is the use of three-dimensional plywood, which can be bent along two axes while being molded.
The Dream Chair looks and works better as part of the classy décor in large rooms where the chair can be seen in its entirety from every angle.
You can get it in both oiled and lacquered oak and a darker walnut.
