Designed by: Joseph Alessio, a typographic illustrator and designer. Inspiration: “I love music and lettering, and this project is a great fusion of the two.
I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of old and new, and how we can look to the past to find inspiration for the present and even future.
In this project I took modern colloquialisms and rendered them in ornate, historical type styles, with laser-engraving as the medium and a boombox the application.
All in all, it’s a study in contradiction and unlikely combinations that work together to create a functional piece of art.
