Sesame: Replace Your Keys With Apps And Creative Knocks

Still relying on keys to open your front door? You shouldn’t. With the Sesame door locking system ,your phone serves as a unique digital key that no one else can replicate.

Finally, a Digital Lock that Works

The Sesame digital door lock is designed to replace your traditional keys with a modern locking system using your home network and apps. It is compatible with almost any single cylinder deadbolt in the following countries: USA, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Singapore, Japan and Malaysia.Sesame digital lock on white door

The lock runs on lithium batteries for 500 days and will need replacing or recharging. One can monitor power levels before this happens through the app. Individuals have the option to connect to a nearby WiFi network, which can help lower power consumption.

According to the Kickstarter campaign:

“The Wi-Fi Access Point runs open source OpenWrt Linux and uses 2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a Bluetooth LE 4.0 radio. It’s fully compatible with Arduino IDE v1.5.4 or later — the ideal choice to connect your Bluetooth devices to your home/mesh Wi-Fi network.”

3-Step Installation Process

Unlike other smart locks out in the market today, the Sesame digital key system boasts a simple installation process. Complex wiring or technical knowledge in networking or electricity is not required.

The first step is to download the official app (more on this later). Next, attach the locking device to your door. The final step is to walk away. That’s all there is to it!

App Tracking Features for Added Security

The Sesame app is where the device really shines. If you’re expecting guests, you can share your digital key, allowing them to open the door while you’re cooking in the kitchen.

A notification is sent your mobile phone when someone opens or locks the door. This feature is very handy when you’re at work or out of town.
