Shed Hook is a graphic interpretation of the traditional garden shed, which acts as a container for essential items that are often misplaced when getting in after a long day. The interior provides a shelf for items like keys and post, whilst the roof and door become hangers for bags and coats. Jon Lane-Smith, the designer of the hook, says that the idea was borne out of frustration. After constantly misplacing things like house keys and mail he decided to find a solution that would put an end to the problem. The initial prototypes were made in many different shapes and sizes, but wouldn’t quite work. It was only when looking out of the window and seeing a garden shed that he realized that this was the perfect object to store things in.
